Stopped into The Artisan Pig in Plymouth, MA and the standout of the night was easily the Truffalo wings. They were cooked spot‑on--crispy exterior, still saucy, and full of flavor. The truffle‑buffalo combo works way better than I expected, and the chunky blue cheese on the side was fantastic. You can tell they actually care about their wing game. I also tried one of their specialty pizzas. It was definitely unique and well‑made, with great toppings and a nice presentation. It just didn't hit the spot for me the way I hoped--but to be fair, I'm a New Haven pizza snob, so my bar is unrealistically high. For most people, it's probably a win. Cannot recommend enough. Everything about this place is awesome. The food was delicious-- I got the piggy platter which came with 1/2 pound of pulled pork, baked beans, mac n cheese, and cornbread for $22. Their prices are great and their portions allow for leftovers too! Service was great and attentive (Madi was our waitress), the tables were nicely spaced out, and the atmosphere was lovely. Nice bathrooms, music at a reasonable volume, and a local energy that made me feel like I discovered a hidden gem (that's not so hidden). Fancy pizza joint! The food here is very gourmet in comparison to your average pizza place. They have apps and sandwiches on the menu too, but the focus is definitely pizza with the giant wood-fired ovens that can be seen towards the back of the place... My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered the griddled cornbread and a "not just the roni" pizza. The cornbread was fantastic!! The savory pulled pork, sweet/soft cornbread and refreshing crunchy pickled onions is a surprising combo that works really well together. We were impressed! And the pizza was delicious! The slices were heavier/more filling than expected. We ate half of the pizza and took half home, which is unusual for us! Wish we had gone elsewhere :( Sad to say, but The Artisan Pig was a HUGE disappointment. I had high hopes for this place, but it did not impress me at all. Stopped in here with some friends on a Saturday night after enjoying some wine at UVA wine bar. We were starving and wanted something more than just charcuterie. Luckily, we were able to get a table right away. We ordered drinks and apps. Food: For apps. We had their Chicken Wings and Fried Mozz since they were out of Arancini. The mozzarella was not good at all. It seemed like it wasn't even cooked enough. And, don't get me started on the sauce. It had to be out of a jar! Usually, Fried Mozz has a nice brown tint to the outside and ooey-gooeyness on the inside. This was not the case at all. The wings were pretty good, to my surprise. I ordered one of their small Pizzas, "Not just a Roni." The pizza looked better than it tasted. It was soft and soggy; I could barely pick it up and eat it without the toppings falling off. The pepperoni was crispy and better to eat on its own. I know they have these hot pizza ovens to cook good pizza, but I honestly don't know what happened to ours. It was very disappointing! I wish a manager had come over to speak to us about our bad experience. Service: Service was also not great. I take it college kids are working there, which I give them credit for working in the summer months, but c'mon. These kids just don't care. They want to serve and get their money, and that's it. The server we had would almost throw our food and drinks on the table. It was like she was in a rush. I even told her to "please not throw our food/drinks here." It is a shame. The food was great, my friend was very excited the Caesar salad came with anchovies. The pizza is very light and flavorful. We have been to "the Pig" about 20 times in the past 2 yrs. We think they have the Best Neapolitan Pizza( thin crust) we have ever had in & around Plymouth. But today we decided to share a special small Cobb Salad. This was the freshest & most versatile,( so many ingredients) in a salad I've had in years. I eat A lot of salads. I am from the Plymouth area originally, and my family and I were back East on a family vacation visiting my hometown. As most of you, Plymouthians know, the restaurant scene on Main Street changes a lot. It had been a few years since I had been home and my best friend always knows the best places to eat. She told me about Artisan Pig and that they have the best pizzas. My husband and son love pizzas, in fact, my husband makes them from scratch at home. We took my best friend's advice and we were pleasantly surprised. One of the pizzas we built our own and the other we ordered pepperoni. It was very easy to order, over the phone. We picked them up so we didn't have the dining experience. If ever back East, I would definitely go back and dine there because the menu looked phenomenal. Another review of arguably the best dining in Plymouth. So why only four stars? We have been diners at least a dozen times. The bar staff are always pleasant, efficient and consistently understaffed. Last Sunday the entire dining area and the bar were staffed by two people and one was an underaged busser. Regardless the dining was impeccable. For the first time we passed on the flawless pizza and weekly dirty fries to try out the new sandwich menu. This may have been an off night but the service was subpar. We got seated fairly quickly but after 20 min we're not evened asked about water. I stopped a server to ask if anyone could help us and she took our drink orders. Another 20 minutes and we do not have water or drinks. Two tables come in after us and her drinks water etc. I watch them pour the beers at the bar and not bring them. I go to the bar to ask. More time goes by before they come out. Now the pizzas were great and I hate that the service soured the experience, but the kids were dying for pizza. They did apologize for forgetting about us bc they didn't know who had our table. Hit up The Artisan Pig for our anniversary and how have we not been here before? Well, rest assured after this visit we will certainly be making our way back again very soon! We started off with a house salad (no onions) with the homemade citrus vinagarette dressing. The salad was crisp and fresh with some of the best tasting tomatoes I have ever encountered. The dressing was bright and tart and was a great way to kick off our meal. The wood-fired empanadas had a ground chicken sausage inside them and the red pepper aoli, sweet potato hash and fresh pineapple salsa served with them made for an absolutely dynamite appetizer. For our main course, we split a wood-fired pizza that had Italian sausage, peppers and pesto ricotta (yes, ricotta with pesto mixed into it) and the pizza quickly moved up the ranking of best pizza ever. The crust was crisp and flavorful and the precision put into making the pizza made for a tasty piece of pizza artwork. There were perhaps not as unusual choices as I might have liked, but it was a good spot and they sat us quickly in a busy restaurant. Issue, the pizza was very small for around $20. I've had a margarita pizza and another option off the menu and liked the taste but left hungry both times. The toppings were spread thin too. The selection of beer was good. Came for lunch when we stopped by Plymouth for the day. Saw the amazing reviews and just though we had to try. They had plenty of outdoor seating. The indoor dining was clean and open. Very comfortable. Staff members were super nice. Honestly, the reviews about the pizza were right. The pizza was amazing. Especially the classic pizza that we ordered. The hot honey was not spicy at all. I cannot handle my spice and the hot honey was delicious. The dough was delicious! I would stick to their pizzas as everyone else's reviews said. Went today at lunch time with a couple buddies of mine I got the meatball pizza. The wait was not too long maybe 15-20 minutes. The taste was good until you got to the crust all the crust was completely burnt and inedible. Prices were fair for a small pizza with 3 toppings at 14 bucks. Would be 4 stars if the service was a little better. We only got water for the table and it comes in a 1 liter bottle and the waitress never came over to ask if we wanted more even though we were done with it before the food arrived. All in all of recommend it for a chill vibe and something light money wise but the service could be better. read more

Stopped in here on a whim on my way home from work. This cute little cafe had everything I was looking for, delectable craft cocktails, delicious from scratch food at a fair price and impeccable service. I sat at the bar, ordered a Sam's Painkiller, made with spiced rum and homemade coconut cream from my bartender Jillian. Great drink. My lady and I were in Plymouth for a show Saturday night and stopped into the Artisan Pig before for a drink and bite to eat. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great. Joanna had a couple of Empress Gin Martinis which she loved. We shared a grilled peach salad and split the Golden Swine pizza. BBQ pork with pickled jalapeños and bleu cheese...was so good and cooked perfectly. I'm not typically the biggest wood fired thin crust guy but this pie was legit. Bartender was cool.
