They were out of french bread, tomato basil bread, whole wheat, AND focaccia, but only told us this after the order was placed and paid for (so it was too late to walk out). My frontega chicken panini had no basil. My sister's roasted turkey avocado BLT had A SINGLE slice of bacon and no avocado. My mother's salad had a single piece of avocado. And she requested bacon on the side, but they put it on. She doesn't eat pork, so she had to physically pick the bacon pieces out with her fingers.... Plus, some manager-looking man was verbally berating the line cooks in front of several customers. We paid $37.82 for food that was either messed up or unordered. This is not the best example of a Panera. The food is the same as every other, albeit prepared with a little less care than most. Decent soups and salads and meh sandwiches. The dining room though really lets the place down. No matter what time of day you go, it always seems to crowded and dirty as if they just came off the lunch rush. I don't expect much from a Panera, but having to clean off my table before I can sit down isn't it. But worse than all that to me is the horrible parking lot, which is a bad combination of awful design, heavy traffic and crazed drivers. I frequent Panera once or twice a month, and I was a little upset by my last visit because of the updated food packaging they're using. I used to get my food in a single bag that was adequately sized to fit the amount of food I was purchasing. Yesterday, I got a sandwich, chips and a cookie. The cookie was already in a bag, and the cashier asked if I wanted to put it in a bag while still standing at the cash register. I politely refused, and walked to the food pickup counter to wait for my food. I was then surprised to see a food shopping sized paper bag placed on top of the counter when my pager went off. The larger bag contained the sandwich (in a new paper carton - not sure what was wrong with just wrapping it in wax paper the way they used to), and another bag with the chips & napkins placed inside of it. I know that most of the packaging was recyclable, but not everyone recycles. If less packaging garbage is given out at the point of sale, then less garbage will go into landfills. read more

What is it about Panera that is so hard to tolerate. The food is ok, the drink options are better than average, and the fresh bread deserves some praise. yet, the experience is never enjoyable. The design of the restaurants is pinched and the meal always feels rushed. I dont generally mind being surrounded by kids and strollers but in this place it feels unwelcome. What I like about Panera is that you can chose a calorie-controlled mean before you step indoor and make potentially dangerous decisions. This Panera is also way cleaner and more appetizing than the one in Hoboken, where the staff at night destroys the ambiance because the guy cleaning talks so loud to the other employees that the first time I was there I was scared because I thought it was an outsider trying to pick a fight with one of the folks behind the counter. I had my phone on hand to call the police. I didn't realize that the guy worked there until I was there again one night and he was there, again, destroying the ambiance of patrons trying to read and have their normal tone conversations. But, I digress. I love their tomato-based soups and black bean soup and their salads and their sandwiches. I wish the ones in Hoboken and in other more-urban areas were as clean as this one. I love Panera Bread chains in general. No matter what location, the food is fresh and prepared well. Their bread bowl soups are my favorite, especially the tomato basil. Usually with a meal you can get a baked item for just .99 cents. The m&m cookies are large and melt in your mouth. I have found that their iced green tea is the best. Sometimes I swing on by just to pick one up on the way home because they are so refreshing and healthy too. This location in Raritan is the one I go to most of the time because it is so close to where I live. I agree with others that the parking lot can be crazy, sometimes horrendous and it can get quite packed. Only a few times I've found empty tables that have been left dirty or drinks spilled on them. Otherwise their staff does a pretty good job of cleaning up, even taking empty trays from people too lazy to drop them off upfront themselves. The ambience is nice and cozy when it's not too crowded. There was a Panera I was in once where they had a fire place and it was the best. Overall, I enjoy eating here. Great for a quick lunch with a friend. read more

Always pick up the same combination from you pick two - French onion or chicken noodle with Fuji apple chicken salad. Never disappoints. However, my husband had tomato soup and the lobster sandwich. He got really ill from it and is still sick today (ill since having it yesterday). Encourage those wanting to try it to smell before eating it. It had a fishy smell to it. Should've stopped him from eating it. Anyone can get ill anywhere, but wanted to make a comment that my husband got sick here. Otherwise I'll still go here and order my usual combo. read more

I'd love to share my recent visit to this Panera bread. We can all agree that Panera is awesome and the people that work here are wonderful, easy going and always very giving. However, I'd love to share my personal intake with Edward. I was there with my husband and 4 children as we all ordered and mixed up our orders, he took his time, reviewed our orders numerous times and was very professional during all of this. It was something about his character that took me away. We aren't always greeted and let alone treated in this matter, I mean most of the times they are trying to rush a large family. Tonight, Thursday, April 22, 2021, 6pm, the Panera Bread Manager who was working at the pick up Counter, had no respect and no understanding of social distancing between himself and customers (including myself) who were picking up food inside. When I suggested to him to leave it on the counter for me to pick up my bag of ordered food, the Manager said, why could not he just hand it to me within less a one foot distance apart of each other, in where he planned to stand right next to me. When I reminded him that he could simply leave a customer bag(s) on the counter for customers instead whom are waiting in person, he only could say, what was the big deal in just standing close to me and other customers while we were "physically fine" (not sick with COVID-19) if when we stood next to each other or if any customer stood next to him. read more

They have some very nice staff members. I get coffee in the morning once a week and the woman at the counter always knows what I want. They even took the time to cut 6 scones in half for me. I didn't give them a five only because sometimes the coffee runs out and it takes them some time to refill the container. read more

Busy night, you've got families of four spending $40, $50, $60... but no tables for them to sit because a half dozen of those 4-person tables have 1 person who buys a bottle of water, opens up a laptop and camps out there all night... to use the WiFi. Overall, I'm a pretty big fan of the Panera brand. The food quality is good and they're usually pretty consistent with the finished product. This is the location just off the Somerville circle next to Staples and near Toys r Us. This was actually my first time at this particular location and I came for dinner. I'm going 2 stars for this place because the ordering process was completely inefficient. It took entirely too long. It was almost as if they did not want to take customer's orders. On the flip side, the food was good. I actually never have an issue with the quality. In fact, I liked my meal. I'd probably give this place another shot and chalk this up to being near closing time but I'll be expecting more on my next visit. read more

Went to Panera's in Flemington this morning. So disappointing. Self service kiosks ooo (not working). After order was handed an order ready alert buzzer. Got coffee and went to a table. Coffee was Luke warm so I asked for replacement. Noticed on way back to table that our food was out -- but buzzer not activated. Retrieved our meals. 10 minutes later after finishing breakfast went back looking for hot coffee and not yet out. Come On! read more

I worked at this Panera Bread for about a yr and some months and saw how everything worked behind the scenes. I cannot express to you enough that really whatever they do it's always for the people. The food is amazing, a little expensive in my opinion, but you get what you pay for. The soups are always hot and ready to serve and the sandwiches are really made right after your order goes through in the front. Pastries are either donated during certain days of the week or given out amongst each other at the end of the night, being that a baker comes in every single night to bake fresh bread for the next day! Love Panera and all the food but very disappointed with the services of this place. On the website it said takeout available. Then I called the place and the machine said call-in-orders available. So I get on the phone with a real person and they said they are no longer doing call-in-orders and hung up on me. Fine. So I go to the location and try using the tablet to order, the machine wasn't acknowledging my card. Finally ordered from the person at the register (who was very friendly). Took it to go, get home, and all the order was the wrong items. Very upset. read more

People nice and food hot and delivered to table but portion size extremely stingy. I ordered pick 2 with soup and sandwich. There was only 1/2 inch of soup in the bowl, less than 15 spoonfuls. There were only a few bites of turkey on the sandwich and no evidence if the advertised cranberries. This is only enough for a modest appetizer. Thank you panera bread for the worst experience of my life! The register lady was nice but the people making the food were freaking out because their boss yelled at them or something that meant nothing to any of the customers listening to this! But in the anger of the employees my food was made disgustingly sloppy!!!! My goodness!!! I was watching this in shock! They had no BREAD at panera BREAD no bread for my sandwich and no bread for my side! Whatever things happen but they made my food so sloppy and didn't even close the boxes none of them! My 2 sandwiches in the bag were thrown in there on their side so they're on the bottom of the bag currently! I mean we can't even salvage them due to the insides to the sandwich being all over the bottom of the bag! I mean I understand having a bad day, I could have looked past the no bread with no complaints but the way the food was made and then packaged?! Absolutely unacceptable! Thank you for a waste of $45! Regarding CDC social distancing guidelines between employees and customers, the employee who was taking outside deliveries and in person-customer tables, walked continuously back and forth less than a foot distance in the same aisle where customers stood who were making in person purchases at the register. This employee walked less than a foot distance from me (a customer) a few times too. When I waited for my purchase to me ready, when I made a suggestion to this same employee who had walked closely to customers waiting by the register, was there any way, he could follow the social distancing guidelines better, this employee said that the floor social distancing signs were only for customers to follow, not employees. I asked if there was a Manager on shift, but I was told that there had not been a Manager at this time. (810pm). Last time, 2 months ago, when I was a customer making a purchase inside this Panera Bread, in my in person conversation with the Manager, she said, that she would tell her employees to follow social distancing better where customers were making purchases in front at the register. The food is good there, but the CDC social guidelines need better following. read more

This particular Panera bread is fantastic for gluten free eating. As someone with ciliac, I often worry about cross-contamination in a place that has bread products all over. However, the manager of this location is fantastic, I come in and place my order saying I have the problem and the manager personally looks up my meal in the allergy guide and has the employees change their gloves and use separate bowls to make my salad. Never ever had a problem from eating here, food is tasty! Would highly recommend. (I also have never had this good of service from any other Panera unfortunately). read more

The General Manager of the store, Michael Storie, was one of the best restaurant managers we have ever experienced. I've been going to Panera off and on since it opened in various locations. I've had positive and negative experiences. The last was the worst. Took 2 kids one got kids chicken noodle soup which was 6oz mostly broth with no sign of chicken. The other got kids mac and cheese which was watery and gross. With 2 smalls drinks almost 16$. Ive been in the food service business on different levels come on Panera stop playing menu games and get it together. I won't go back. read more

I got a cheese steak panini and a broccoli cheddar soup first off the panini bread was ROCK SOLID hard had maybe 3 pieces of small steak that one piece was BONE hard and MUSTARD all over it I HATE MUSTARD they didn't even tell me it came with it nor did it say it came with it. Now my broccoli and cheddar soup not bad but for the price and size I could of went to quick check got a much bigger size for much cheaper and have it taste the same for the price and quality of the food never again read more
