Don't go to this Panera location, especially during lunch hour! I usually only take a half hour for lunch so I have done the Panera Rapid Pick-up on a few occasions. The first time I did, it was a Monday during lunch time, and I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and french onion soup. The salad had almost no chicken on it and the french onion soup had leaked ALL over the bag! I don't know if the employees didn't realize it had leaked, or maybe another customer knocked it over, but it was sitting at the pick-up counter all wet. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and just assumed it was a mistake. But today when I came here it was ANOTHER disappointment. Again, I did the Rapid Pick-up where you pay online and then it's waiting for you at their pick-up counter. I ordered the Frontega Chicken Panini without a drink. I get to the counter to pick-up my food and it's a HUGE bag for JUST the sandwich in a small box. All of their meals come with a side of either chips, an apple, or bread. I opted for the default of chips but to my surprise, there were none in the bag! I double checked my receipt, and it does list a sandwich + chips. Oh, and they didn't even put napkins in the bag. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't everyone give you napkins when you have a takeout order? I didn't even wait in line to get the chips because it was just entirely too long and I didn't have the time. Not to mention how insane people drive around lunch time in Willow Lawn.... and despite their huge parking lot, I had to park at the Dairy Queen lot and walk over. Oh and once I got to work, I realized my sandwich was mostly bread. Needless to say, after TWO bad experiences I won't be going back. read more

This is the last straw. I went to this place because it's close to my house and I've always liked Panera. I say "went" bc I'm not going back. But god damn, they mess something up almost every time I go in there now. Today, I asked for the same thing I order almost every Saturday morning. Bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel add avacado, to go. Last week they gave me no bacon (not the first time). This week they gave me the picture below. Look at that avocado. They've given me the avocado like this before. I took it back and asked the manager if this is how the avocado is supposed to come and he said no and got me another sandwich. He's a nice guy. He's always very helpful when something happens. I usually give the people making the food the benefit of the doubt but this is starting to get ridiculous. It's every week. Long story short - I give this place two stars bc I like Panera and the manager is a good guy. But the people making the food have to do better. When I bring something back they act like I'm the reason something is wrong. No. You messed my food up. Almost every week now. Do better. Not coming back here. I'll drive the extra 5 minutes to go to another Panera. Side note: sandwich is always delicious when it is made correctly. Edit: dog just ate sandwich while I wasn't looking. Perfect. had a bad experience here a while back but decided to give it another shot... bad experience. no one answered my calls so i had to go inside to place my order. everyone was standing around talking. only half the employees were wearing masks covering their nose AND mouth. the other half were walking around with it pulled down. the floor had trash all over it. one of the employees came around the corner without a mask at all whining and saying "i can't keep any food down today. i might try some soup." he then proceeded to go to the register and take orders without a mask and leaning on the table clearly sick. the woman messed up my order but was quick to fix it. mind blown read more

The young lady who waited on me was named Jennifer and she was just lovely! So friendly to everyone and helped with my Panera rewards card (even though I only spent about $3!). I tried ordering delivery for the first time and thought the service was fabulous. I ordered the chicken tortellini and the roasted beet salad, and a the m&m cookie. I live less than 2 miles away and it said I should expect my meal in 30-45 minutes, but it was delivered 15 minutes later. Talk about quick service! The tortellini was delicious. And the beet salad was perfection. I can't remember what dressing is paired with it, but it is amazing. I will definitely be ordering delivery again in the near future. read more

I like Panera food. They have lots of yummy salads (what??? salads can be yummy?), fresh sandwiches and hearty soups. I usually go with the Pick Two deal, where you can pick 2 items from their great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. Watch out though -- some items are "Signature" items, meaning an extra charge if that's one of the items you pick. A double extra charge for 2 Signature items and now they even have some Premium Signature items that are even more expensive. I think those are the dishes with lobster. The Cobb salad (a Signature salad) is good, and even though the Signature sandwiches (tomato & mozzarella panini, yum yum!) are delicious and tempting, the Sierra Turkey is an acceptable replacement and its just a lil ole cafe sandwich, not a Signature one. It has turkey, lettuce, red onion, slightly spicy sauce and its a perfect combo! Their mac & cheese is pretty delicious too, and my bf always gets the soup. read more

I love this place! I go there often with my friends to grab some lunch or sometimes we bring our laptops there and just chat. The food is amazing! The Tuna Sandwich is my favorite. The people here are super friendly and nice! The atmosphere is nice. It's sometimes quiet so students can also come here and do some work or study. Sadly another bad experience. I ordered a Napa Chicken Salad Sandwich for rapid pickup -- Not sure what they did but when you unwrapped the sandwich -- the chicken salad was mostly outside the bread and everything was wet and soggy and squished. That is a favorite sandwich and when they do it right -- wonderful - but expecting your customer to like having their sandwich smashed -- not great. Will have to drive to a different Panera next time. This is the 3rd time from this location that I have had bad service in rapid take out. read more

This trip to Richmond, just highlights Panera. It's the fastest place to get your food I've ever seen. Faster than any fast food place! It takes me awhile to read the menu and tell the cashier what I want. You got to be kidding: I get a choice between an apple and chips. Of course, an apple! I actually get a fruit to eat while I'm traveling. By the time, I get my pennies out, I spotted the lemonade at the next station. They can't be that fast! I asked the lady waiting if that lemonade belongs to her. Nope, it's for me! Wow! I proceed down the line, the staff asks me for my name and hands me my sandwich! Come on, that was 1 minute? This Panera is a pretty alright location. I've dined in a couple times throughout the years, but I primarily order take-out from here. Overall, the concept is awesome and has the same experience you'll get from other Paneras; quick, healthy-ish fast casual food that you don't have to feel guilty about. I love their soups, salads, and pastries. Although I have no complaints about service from the employees or management, this particular location suffers from quality control and consistency on a semi-regular basis. Recently I ordered a Pick Two with a Kale Caesar salad and BBQ chicken flatbread. When I got home and saw the flatbread, I saw it was completely covered in BBQ sauce, which I knew was going to overpower the whole thing completely. I've had this sandwich before and knew that the smoked chicken, crispy onions, and melted mozzarella was what made this sandwich amazing, but this time whoever made this sandwich this time just didn't realize how much sauce was on this I guess. I had to scrape a lot of it off to enjoy the sandwich. My salad was fine, the toppings are always generous and since the dressing is on the side, no flavor is super dominant. I ordered another take-out order the next week and just stuck to salad and soup. My boyfriend will have similar experiences with consistency, as this Panera will frequently leave off the basil from his Frontega Chicken Panini, or forget the extra French baguettes he pays for. Other visits will be just fine! But these little things add up after awhile to where we have to worry if they made our food wrong or forgot something, so we have to check it before we leave. Other than that, not a bad place to get your Panera fix. Salads are always a safe bet since they're perfectly portioned, and the soups are pretty fail proof as well. I have always ordered Panera for delivery at work. When they had their own delivery drivers meals were delivered promptly and hot. Since they've switched to Door Dash (according to the manager when I called to complain) their delivery service has tanked. Meals are warm-ish at best, and it takes a long time for delivery. The drivers have been pleasant (today was Leon & he was very nice) but I've waited close to an hour (not busy times) each time for my meals and that didn't happen with Panera drivers. I don't think I will be ordering from them again any time soon. Not sure how to fix this issue. read more

Meh. I'm never completely satisfied whenever I go to Panera. Maybe I'm just ordering the wrong thing? Maybe I'm not too into chains saying their food is healthy when in actuality, the food is so high in sodium that you might as well be eating salt from the dispenser? I love there food and don't mind paying more for a salad. That being said the customer service at this location is horrible. There order takers are more interested in talking to one another then asking how they can help me. Today made three different trip here and all with lackluster results. Im not sure what has happened to the willow lawn panera, but they have continually gone down hill over the last few months.... the steak and cheese breakfast bagel normally has several slices of beef for example, and the one I received today had one and a half slices... which is a joke for the price you pay. This is probably the worst PB I have ever been in. I'm usually pressed for time so I quite often use the rapid pickup service. Four out of five times I've had a messed up order. Roasted turkey avocado blt would be a great sandwich if they would actually put the avocado on it. One time they gave me something completely different then what I ordered and another time they just lost my order completely. They seem to always mess up take out orders which is really frustrating because I don't have time to go back. The manager always apologizes but it's just one screw up after another. This last time was last and final attempt. I will never go back to the Willow Lawn location again. read more

For a chain, Panera really is a great place to eat. For this specific location, I really enjoy the outdoor patio during lunch. Ample seating and a lot of umbrellas provide shade while enjoying any one of the great sandwiches, soups or salads. Great portions, however, you may have a longer line during the lunch rush. This Panera is customer centered!! I called to order soup - sick - in a hotel - away from home. Something wrong with system and it was showing no soup available. I called and talk to manager Ronnie - she was great. I ended up having to order by phone - she had a driver stay late after normal delivery time - and I got my soup and sandwich. It would be 5 stars except the sandwich was not quite right and overheated. I recommend this particular store to anyone. They go above and beyond. It made a huge difference in my day and how I felt. Love this place, has such a nice laid back atmosphere where you can sit around and talk for a while after you finish eating. Everything was great, the cashier heard me saying that panera is so wrong for having the huge display of brownies, cinnamon rolls and cakes smack you in the face when you walk up to the counter so he made it possible for me to get a carrot cake cupcake in place of the chips and apple that came with my salad. I have been eating here at least 1-2x a week for the past few months as this has been my number 1 pregnancy craving food! The food quality is always good and very tasty, and the staff is nice, but I have two major complaints: 1. There is never parking during lunchtime. I know this is because it's a popular spot, but it is ridiculous. 2. My order is ALWAYS incorrect. Usually something small, like cucumbers missing or the wrong salad, but it's almost comical how often my order has a mistake. If I want an apple, please give me that instead of a baguette. They're usually pretty good about fixing it, although I have just ignored it on occasion because it's too busy to bother someone to fix it. Anyway, the food is good, but I think due to the volume of customers, there isn't enough attention paid to detail or time spent on each order. This review is for this location only. read more

The food was good, but the place was in disarray. All the coffee was empty through our whole lunch, except hazelnut and decaf. The men's room toilet was plugged, consequently my wife found a teenaged boy using the women's side. The staff seemed too busy to attend to it. There was a plunger by the toilet, but I couldn't get it to go in four tries. We are regular Panera customers when we travel and at home in Oregon. read more

Holy Crap. I ordered a to-go order from Panera for lunch today (it's 28 degrees) and I put in the notes "please make sure soup is hot..." There is a kind of creepy guy that works here. He stands behind the bakery case and just stares. I won't describe him but if you go in the morning you will probably know who I'm talking about. He does this every time I visit I thought I was just being paranoid but my husband who was waiting in the car said the guy came outside of the store and was staring down this other girl. In other news half of the employees are nice... But the other half not so much. Also this last time I visited I watched the employees argue with each other. had din din here on a cold Wednesday evening this week. Ordered the Moroccan beef Stew. After waiting 15 minutes or so I inquired and the guy behind the counter said they were having trouble finding the stew in the freezer. After another 10 I went up to order something else and he said it was coming out of the microwave at that moment. When I finally got my dinner I found the beef very fatty and with lots of gristle. ALSO ordered a cup of decaf only to be told that they don't brew decaf after 2pm. Who doesn't have decaf in the evening? I've eaten breakfast here many times which tells you I like it. The customer service here needs improvement. One cashier this morning was nice but the one that helped us just stared and didn't greet us or ask if we were ready to order etc. She took our order and then fulfilled orders of customers after us while we waited... Even though our items were ready made. Then we had to repeat our order because she forgot and she didn't give us forks and such. Not really a big deal but last time I visited this store another employee left out two items of my order and I had to drive back to get them. And the time before that a pastry I bought was stale. Once again sloppy service for take out at this Panera Bread location in Willow Lawn. In the past I have not bothered to write a review but instead pointed out the same issues to the Panera cashier -- but was told "I'm sorry." Today I ordered one Napa Chicken Sandwich and one Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich. When I got to the office -- the sandwiches were a mess -- no label and not wrapped right -- inside the ingredients were all over the paper wrapping and literally I was embrassed to give my boss his Chicken Sandwich. My Veggie sandwich had feta cheese all over the paper and humus almost like it spilled and they tried wiping it up. The tomatoes had fallen out into the paper as well. Not a delightful experience at all. I love Panera food in general and have ordered a lot from them at other locations. But for some reason the location at Willow Lawn could use some help in the kitchen preparing sandwiches and taking a little more care about how their take out is prepared. For the future -- not going back to that location. Third time and you are OUT. read more
