I don't believe it's possible for me to have a bad Panera meal. The food is always delicious. There were signs saying to use the self serve screens but then a staff member saw us and told us to just order with them which was much faster. We were the only ones in the restaurant so it was very quiet. We enjoyed our meals and the food was as delicious as always. (The broccoli soup is always a hit with my family). The chips are also a great side- they remind me of much saltier Cape Cod Potato Chips. Their array of drinks makes it fun to order seasonal options. I always get the Santa Fe chicken which was delicious once again. Maybe I'll try something new next time but we'll see.... read more

When I was ordering my food to (Dine In) when I went up to the counter they kept saying my order was not ready even tho it was on the counter in a to go bag when it should have been prepared for dine in. I was not looking for all of my food to be in a bag but instead in dishes. it caused some confusion and when I was unpacking my food i got 2 of the smallest cut baguettes which was also very disappointing and unappealing to eat. I honestly don't get the hype around Panera Bread. Went in expecting something decent and left feeling like I paid way too much for basically hospital food. The soup was barely warm, the bread tasted stale, and my sandwich looked like it was thrown together in 10 seconds. On top of that, the place wasn't even busy, but it still took forever to get my order. The staff seemed like they didn't care at all, and the tables were kind of messy. I placed an online order through the app today, expecting -- like any customer -- that my order would be correct. Most of us don't want to waste time checking every single item at the drive-thru, especially when it holds up the line behind us. We trust the staff to get it right. Unfortunately, when I opened my bag, I found a grilled cheese sandwich instead of the tuna salad sandwich I ordered. Seriously? One is hot, the other cold. It's not even a close match. You'd think just holding the sandwich or reading the receipt would've made the mistake obvious. I order delivery typically due to the fact that my husband and I have one car and it's impossible to leave with my two kids. I consistently receive my order incorrectly. I always ask for my bagels to be unsliced and untoasted but constantly receive them burnt or sliced. This place is a joke. If not the miserable workers then every day they close early. I understand being short staffed , I really do. Times are tough. But who ever owns this place should probably just shut the doors, the staff are rude and miserable- you could go on a very slow day and you'll still wait 20 minutes for a COOKIE or pre made food- but other then that the hours are crazy. Only open through drive through on the weekend now and I pull in before 2 pm, wait behind a car, and when it's my turn to pull up it's 2:01 and they won't take your order, the machine doesn't even let you talk to a person and if you pull to the window forget it- they won't open it even though you were waiting well before 2 pm. The restaurant fills up quickly and is usually pretty quiet. The food is REALLY good. We get Bacon Turkey Bravo Sandwich (Oven-roasted turkey breast, applewood-smoked bacon, smoked Gouda, emerald greens, tomatoes ) Broccoli Cheddar Soup (Chopped broccoli, shredded carrots, smooth cheese sauce) Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt (Smoked, pulled chicken, fresh avocado, Cilantro, zesty sweet Peppadew, piquant peppers, Chipotle mayo, Black Pepper Focaccia) Low-Fat Chicken Noodle Soup (Veggies, meaty chicken breast, Chicken Broth, Egg noodles) The Bacon Turkey Bravo is very tasty with lots of flavor and very filling. Stopped in here on our way home from Vermont for a bite to eat. Service here is fast and friendly and I must say this Panera was absolutely spotless. We ordered our pick 2, filled our fountain drinks and grabbed a seat in a booth... shortly after a young woman brought our food rite over to us. Everything tasted delicious and fresh, I'm a big fan of the frontega chicken sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup! After we finished all of our food I went to go and dispose of my trash and the young lady took my tray from me which I thought was very nice of her. Very pleasant experience here we will definitely be stopping in again! Side note: they have amazing vanilla yogurt with strawberries and granola at the front and it is absolutely to die for. Not good for business travelers. So I was staying near Rutland and needed some breakfast and wifi and figured Panera Bread or McDonalds would probably have the most reliable wifi connection in town. I admit I'm not a fan of chain restaurants since what is the point of traveling if you're going to eat in a place that is exactly the same as hundreds of others. My oatmeal was fine, the employees were nice and the place was quiet and completely empty BUT at Panera Bread, the wifi automatically kicks you off after about half an hour and you can't log back in, which for me, is reason enough to never return. The drive through can sometimes take more than 15 minutes to get through from order to purchase. They have often given me the incorrect order or I have left without being given my full order. The staff is very friendly. Dining in seems to have been a better experience. It does take some time to get our orders, but they are always correct. The staff is friendly. Every time I go, there is always something wrong with my order. Waited in the drive though this morning for 22 minuets (mind you, on my way to work) JUST to get a cookie and a frozen coffee. I watched the guy bring my food to another table, a a teenager picked up the sandwich and took things off of it before bribing it up and said this wasn't his. I always leave satisfied that I've eaten healthy. The staff folks are very friendly but consistently have difficulty finding people's tables when bringing out orders. My last visit I waited over 20 minutes for a turkey sandwich. The waitress couldn't find my table so gave up and left the sandwich on the take-out counter. We were working in Downtown Rutland for the week, and multiple times they screwed up the orders (even when we were ordering for only 4 people). They gave us broccoli cheddar soup instead of a chicken soup, and then completely forgot to give us a chicken noodle soup meal (even though we were charged for, and paid for it). When we had a decent sized order (ordering for 6 people), our order was supposed to be ready at 12:05 PM. I was waiting well after 12:20 PM, even after asking about the "Rapid Pickup order for [last name]", and was told it wasn't ready. One of the workers behind the counter was very condescending and rude when asked if everything was in the bag "EVERYTHING IS IN THERE... EVVVVEEERRYYYYTHING". I then couldn't find the fountain drink cup for 20 oz. drink we ordered, so evidently "Everything" was NOT in there, even after that worker so rudely and adamantly said it was. I did not want or order this and when we brought it to the attention of the staff they said and I quote "Eat it. I'm not taking it back." and only refunded us the difference instead of the meal. My review is not for food. The value of human life is far greater far exceeds the importance of any sandwich. My review here is for ONE single employee named BARRY for his exceptional service. I am taking a considerable amount of time to write this, hoping that someone out there cares about what it means to be a real human being, and to treat others with such compassion in this incredibly disposable World. Without rewards and appreciation for great work, great service faces extinction. Hopefully, someone at Panera Bread cares about the incredible job Barry is doing. There's a thousand places we can eat, and a millions of people who can do a shitty job. If it weren't for Barry, we would have walked out the door angrier at the world, and remembering how much it sucked visiting your establishment. Before going to Panera Bread, we were already having a shitty day, the kind of day that weighs heavy on your heart. As Barry told us, before we came in, this particular Panera Bread was hit with three waves of soccer teams. So they were cleaned out of many menu options. I myself have worked in the food industry, and know how much rushes can take all of your energy. It was the end of the night when we walked in, we were hungry, and our souls were weary. As a vegetarian there weren't a lot of options for my husband. He saw two pastas without meat he could choose from. The first one he tried to order was sold out. He took his second option, we paid, and we were told they would bring the food out out to us. Barry came outside as the bearer of bad news. They didn't have the second pasta he wanted. Quite frankly, it is the work of a manager to rectify problems. I know for a fact that Barry was not the manger on duty, yet he went above and beyond to deliver this blow to a bunch of cranky, starving folks. He delivered the news with such incredible compassion, care, and even cracked a few jokes, lifting our heavy hearts. Honestly, he has an incredible talent for making a shitty situation better. At the end of the day, it's not a big deal that they didn't have the food we wanted. I just wanted to acknowledge this man's good work. In the five minutes of him being there, he made a crappy situation and honestly made our day better. I felt better knowing there's a good human being bringing people food and making them smile. Sometimes, all you really need is to have someone be a real human, and say "Sorry about that, I know this sucks. I know you're hungry. I hope I can make this situation better. Here's something else you might like. " I went to tell the manager about how impressed we were by Barry's incredible service. Sadly, he didn't care. He tried to shoo me away, "Yeah, yeah, yeah Barry did a great job I get it". He didn't even look up at me from the register. This what I left feeling bad about. Somewhere, in Rutland Vermont, there's an under-appreciated and over-qualified person doing the work of the manager, while the manager could take two minutes to hear about the great work of his employee. I don't know what this manager's life is like, or what kind of day he had. I only know that he was hit with the same rushes Barry was. Yet Barry took the time to acknowledge us, while the manager was too busy to do his own work, or even take two minutes to talk to a customer. The World is made up of a series of human exchanges. I'd much rather see a real human being like Barry, than a disgruntled employee talking like a machine, "Would you like a pastry for .99 cents?" Or a manager who doesn't care when their employees do a good job. I really felt for Barry spending his time working for someone who seemed like they did not care when he did a good job. I know when I work my ass off, it's just nice to know that people care, and that we're appreciated for our incredibly precious time. I believe that people like Barry make the World better. I wish Barry the best in his endeavors, I hope he is rewarded for his hard work and talents, or he finds a place where he can flourish. If you read this Barry, thank you for making our incredibly shitty day better. You probably don't even know how many lives you touch. Thank you! read more

Typical Panera. Good coffee, bad hot chocolate, the usual breakfast (and dessert) pastries, soups, sandwiches etc all about average. The only place in town open past 6 (although I think Clem's is experimenting with late hours on the weekends actually). Coffee Exchange and Cafe Terra are better when they're open, but this works. read more
