Discovered the Wheel Inn by chance as we were driving home from vacation and it was incredible! We ordered grilled cheese sandwiches, which were simple but delicious and really hit the spot. But the star of the show were the pies. The maple walnut pie in particular was incredible! We got a huge piece of pie with the most delicious maple filling. Truly one of the tastiest pies I've ever eaten! Service was lovely and quick

A drive to the middle of nowhere brought us to this breakfast joint. Rustic, but very clean and well kept, the menu was just what we were looking for. We even started with a home made chocolate eclair which was to die for. I opted for the house made corned beef hash (just right, not too salty or greasy) while my wife ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits (massive!) The prices were a bit high, but considering the quality of the food, we didn't mind. We were amused by the locals who seemed to be related to the staff or owners who played with a cat and walked into the stock room. All in all, it was a very good breakfast, with a bit of local flavor.

    Mimosa, with Peachtree? Yes, please

Spent a lot of my childhood weekends here and had wonderful Memories. Stumbled upon it again a few years back and recently have been making the hour + trek frequently because it is that good!! Great place, amazing food!!!! Chimis are incredible if you're bored on a Monday. I literally downloaded this app so I could at least let people Know how good it is!! If you ever end up this way, STOP HERE! I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

If you love fresh food and great people - both with lots of local flavor - then you should already be turning off the beaten path and making your way to The Wheel Inn. They offer delicious food (such as beef from Bridport, Cabot cheese, locally baked rolls) and a zillion varieties of homemade pies and other desserts (ALERT: one dessert serving feeds 2-3. Don't say you weren't warned!). The optional gravy on the fries is hella salt (and probably not made from scratch), but everything else was stellar.

12/12/2019. Another Wheel Inn catered Christmas dinner at GE today. As usual, the food was great. If you have never been out to Benson, and eaten there, I highly recommend going.

Found this in the middle of nowhere on our drive home from the ski lodge area in Vermont. Not the friendliest Vermonters I met but had a delicious breakfast and the food came out in minutes. The melted Vermont cheese on home fries was delish!

The Wheel Inn offers authentic, homemade New England comfort cuisine. The portions are generous. Our group ordered chicken and biscuits with peas, the hot turkey sandwich, and two wheelburgers. The latter are popular with guests. The meat is locally sourced and you can taste the difference. The hardest part about the restaurant is saving enough room for pie--there's almost a dozen fresh pie choices for dessert. The spot has a wonderful home feel to it and plenty of locals. Worth the drive to the charming small town of Benson if you are visiting Vermont in the summer months. There is a full bar and wide selection of local Vermont beers.

I have visited this cafe over the last few months and have loved trying their new items they always seem to have. My boyfriend regularly enjoys the breakfast burrito and we have a pastry and apple butter to try soon as well! We always felt welcome there, as it is great place to sit and relax. I also love that they host weekly events, the owners seem very involved in the quality of what they sell and the environment they do it in.. Ps: I also just tried the asparagus soup and nettle crisps, and I will be thinking about how good it was later... wish I got a bigger bowl! Thanks Jason and Janice

Family of 5 visiting on vacation...return visitors…read more All of the breakfast food was very well prepared and had great taste. The Sugar & Spice pancakes are always a must have for my son. I had an omelet off of the Specials menu with Pineapple, ham and mozzarella...Basically a Hawaiian Pizza but in an omelet. Very good, if you like Hawaiian Pizza. The home fries didn't have much color to them but we're actually cooked through and tasted good With a nice texture. The only draw back was our server, while efficient, had like in the way of people skills. Every interaction was as short as possible. Not bad, just not good. Lots of items to shop for if you are a tourist.

We finally decided to try out S&S and I found it good, but not worth the 5 stars everyone gives it pancakes = well cooked, round, pretty standard. don't get 4 pancakes unless you want be in a pancake induced coma. also, they put a literal small ice cream scoop size of butter on the pancakes. Only IHOP does that and it's way too much butter. If you are eating all of that butter, you might need an extra dose of lipitor. Toast = kind of boring S&S pancakes = kind of tasted like pancakes with cinnamon sprinkled on top. Home fries = those were good I was there with two 16-year olds who both thought the food was "mid". I did see a small girl sitting with plate in front of her that had a waffle with ice cream and whipped cream piled so high, that it was almost as tall as her. Her eyes were huge and she was trying to figure out where to start. That waffle looked pretty good and as I passed the table, her dad was leaning in to "help out and keep the plate clean". They sell a lot of baseball hats and t-shirts.
