Cashier was great and friendly. Linda is there a lot when I go with a friend of mine on Saturday morning for the breakfast sandwich and coffee. Today I had a half a day and like last Friday same thing I went and got the new chicken Caesar salad stuffer with the side order of the mac & cheese part of the pick two. And immediately when I got my order, I noticed that the mac & cheese looked very small compared to what I had last week, I went to my table, sat down, ate a couple bites of it, and it was lukewarm so I went back, and I asked them for another one and the manager.Jamilette immediately questions all the employees with a very harsh voice who served this blah blah blah and I quickly said it wasn't a whole one. It was part of a pick two, and I had told her that I'd eat a couple of bites of it so she assumed that I ate part of the Regular, serving. No, I did not. It was small to begin with compared to what I was served last week and someone else just ordered the same thing it was sitting on the counter. I pointed to that one. I said mine looks smaller than that one and she said that that was the right size and started arguing with me in front of all the customers I took it back to my table I sat down. I was so frustrated. I felt like asking for my money back, but I didn't do that. I went back up and asked her to reheat it. She threw it in the microwave, reheated it and gave it back to me and I told her she was horrible. She said she's been doing this for 18 years. Well, obviously, she needs to be retrained because you don't talk to people like that. I didn't do anything wrong. I was not rude to her. She was rude to me. The worst customer service I've ever had. I went outside and I called Panera and I told them what happened and they reported it and the guy on the phone was very nice to me and he offered to give me one of the sandwiches free. That isn't the point what she should've said was I am very sorry. I will get you another one and just get me a whole new another mac & cheese but no, she decided to talk to me harshly in front of all the other customers and in Yelp, there's another review with her listed as well. Maybe she needs retraining. I hope that Panera puts puts this incident in her file because she needs to be retrained. You can't talk to customers like she did to me today. And I live closer to one and I decided to go to the Salem New Hampshire one because it has a little bit better parking lot. I don't know if I'm going back to this one or not I haven't made up my mind especially I won't go back for lunch maybe for breakfast on Saturdays. Maybe management should ask their employees what they think of her because if she talks to me that way, and I saw her talking to the employees, I don't think she's very nice to them either. read more

This is the LAST time I am going to this crappy restaurant. Ordered a pick two as usual. Salad and soup along with a drink. $20.00!!!!!! The salad had no tomatoes in it and virtually very little lettuce. One lousy container of dressing that is no where near enough. The broccoli soup is watered down. Used to be thick. I could dip my bread in it. It is not only watered down it taste weird. The soup you buy in the market doesn't seem to be watered down. This lunch way WAY too expensive and didn't even enjoy it. We love this location. I just moved close by and we're here probably way too often! We love the staff. Very kind! There is a feeling of warmth from them. The food is just so-so, and expensive for what you get. But the real reason for this review is that we ordered 3 times online, and when we got home, out of 4 meals, NONE had their sides. I really didn't want to give a one star because other people in there are great. But this one lady with black hair and glasses. She always gives me an attitude and this time she was really rude. She was yelling at me like she was all tough. Over coming in three minutes early just to use there facility before I could get my coffee. They shouldn't have there door unlocked then. 99 percent of the time she don't even have the milk and cream out. At times it was almost 30 minutes late. People have to get to work and here she slacks. She even talks bad about other employees in front of customers. I don't even know how she even has a job there from how she treats customers and employees. This lady gave very bad customer service and nothing like ruining someone's day. Let me start off with saying that Panera is one of my favorite 'fast food' places so I'll try not to be bias, the food is good, I typically do curbside order pickups and they usually get it right, but, they always forget silverware and one time they forgot my green tea But overall i do recommend it, their Mac and cheese is very good but sometimes it doesn't come out as good. "New" Panera store in Salem, where Denny's was for a million years. Met my pal Linda for a quick lunch. PRO - Store is clean, the baked goods looks great, we were served quickly. Linda said the coffee was good, as was her cinnamon swirl roll. CON - They "did away" with my favorite, their French Onion Soup. Why? So I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Lots & lots of watery broth & soggy celery pieces, a few hunks of white meat chicken & some (not a ton) of noodles. I've had WAY better soup out of a can! It was lousy. The french bread that came with it was hard, I had to soak it in the plentiful broth to even eat it. SO - What happened Panera? If you go, skip the watery chicken soup. Maybe the salads are good? I know that with covid things are a lot of harder to do and take more time but these are issues that had even before covid. I use to go to this Panera all the time to get my coffee in the morning before work and stopped going because every single time I'd order the coffee would be wrong. I tried to order from the app thinking this would fix the issue but alas, the same problems persisted and when I'd say something I was always given a hard time. On top of that, since I work so close, sometimes I'll drive here for lunch. This is the 3rd time I've run into this problem. I'll be waiting in the drive thru line just to ORDER and I'll look and see that I've been sitting ideal for 20-30 minutes!! So I just end up driving away because most of my break is now over and I still need to eat. I heard that this Panera Bread was serving Lobster Rolls so I went to try it. So disappointed with the lobster. Most of the lobster had pieces of shells. This location seriously sucks. I come in once a week for business meetings and EVERY time they mess up my order.... I used to work at the Panera bread in Chelmsford when I was younger. I have the utmost respect for the company but seriously since I left the company gas decreasingly gotten worse. The food is great but the curb side riders are either prepared too early and are cold on receipt and same with pick up. Manager offered to reheat but at that point we took home and reheated. Never enough help. I preordered bakery items the day before an event, arrived at 9an and they were not ready till 9:30 and that's only because they could see I was annoyed. I've had so many orders messed up by them, or stuff missing from my order. I don't even bother with them anymore. Last night, I got a "chipotle bacon wrap" which was bread, cheese and bacon but tasted like a burrito. Family also got a grilled cheese which tasted like smoke. I shop in Salem NH often and quite excited to see that Panera Bread had opened. The location is so very convenient... But that's where it all stops. I decided on today to go as a treat being that I had some time between errands & shopping. The inside is very different from most of the Paneras I've been to. I noticed that there was a small family ahead of me ordering. The way the restaurant is set up there really isn't anywhere to stand while waiting to order unless you wish to be right in the way of the coffee ares. So, not sure what they do if there's a true line forming. Well, I waited awhile... There was only " 1" person taking orders. I checked & the kiosks weren't working for some reason... The small family was apparently a mom and her 2 children. No one could decide what they wanted...this went on for more than 10 minutes. There were people behind the counter milling around doing everything but waiting on me. It got to the point where I asked for help because I d been waiting so long. By the time 15 minutes rolled around If had enough. I started to leave & one of the behind the counter people finally asked if they could help me.
