Not even worth one star. This is the worst establishment for panera I've ever been to. I went in in labor wanting a sandwich for on the way to the hospital. Thankfully the sandwich turned out okay. The pickle looked like it was found under the stove. The drink machine was out. When I asked about it. She acted like she didn't give a hoot. Tried 4 different drinks. I ordered an Italian sandwich here for the first time. I added bacon to the sandwich because, well, it's bacon. I ordered this without the peppers that normally come with it. It was a great sandwich, the provolone cheese was melted, bread tasted fresh and buttery, and the flavor was exquisite. I WILL order this sandwich again. On another note, when I arrived to pick up my food, I was a little disconcerted. I went to the counter and said, "I'm here to pick up an online order for _______. The employee said, "Ok, all of the online orders are on the shelf behind you." He pointed to a bookshelf that had 5 brown bags of food with customer names on them. I took the bag with my name and left. Now, truth be told, I could've taken any bag I want. I like the fact how there wasn't a line to pick up my food. This made for a prompt visit. However, I'd like to verify if I have the correct food, the cost, and other info with the employee. It would be great if this was initiatives by the employee. This location is in need of some serious cleaning. My dine in experience was one of the worst I've ever had. The inside is filthy, from food stains on the walls and furniture to dirt all over. My spoon was dirty, therefore I grabbed a plastic one that was sealed in plastic. I ordered a chicken fontega sandwich and the bread was good but the chicken was a bit pink and there was no sauce. I placed an online order on 8/5 for pick up on 8/6 for 2 Cinnamon Raising bread that I wanted to ship my dad for his birthday in Puerto Rico. I used to love Panera Bread in my former, meat-eating life, but now... it seems as if the appeal has left. Prior to giving up meat, I LOVED their Thai Chicken Salad which had a slightly sweet and sour peanut sauce that perfectly balanced the rest of the salad's vegetables from edamame to roasted bell pepper bits. Now that I'm in my post-meat-eating career (yes, career, haha), I was looking forward to seeing what options Panera has for us vegetarian folk. The answer is limiting, really. There's the Garden Salad, the Greek Salad, and the Power Quinoa Mediterranean Salad with maybe one or two soups to pair with it. There's a couple of sandwiches that didn't seem noteworthy, so I didn't really pay attention. Overall, the offerings seemed slim for a sandwich and salad shop. This time we were taking our meal to go so I went with the Mediterranean salad and Autumn Squash Soup. Overall, the salad was lackluster and was missing some flavors and had very little vegetables. I put some avocado on it when I got home so it at least had some healthy fat on it. The soup was great, but it was a little too on the sweet side. I would like to see a place use squash in their soup and NOT add sugar to sweeten it. Overall, this location is OK. The service is usually quick and consistent, but Panera is really just an overpriced sandwich shop that can be skipped in my opinion. There's other more inventive places to get a meal in San Antonio, if you have time and are willing to find them! read more

Avoid this place if possible. Poor curbside pick up operation, subpar pastries and food for price, and unwelcoming staff. I placed an easy curbside order and was messaged my order was ready for pick up. I followed the instructions for the curbside pick up, but after 8 minutes of waiting in the car I had to walk inside to pick up my order. I walked up to the front register and the female employee did not acknowledge me despite me standing 5 feet from her. I asked if she could help me, and she then acknowledged my presence. I told her I was there to pick up my curbside order, and that I was messaged it was ready. She then went on to tell me that the order was not ready (not even my drink!), and that they did not have some of the items I had asked for in my order. I eventually had to ask for a refund because of the items I was told were ready for pick up were actually never there. I would honestly give this place a 0/5 star rating if I could. read more
