My first hibachi experience and it was a blast! I was one of the lion dancing performers at Thai Spice & Sushi's 23rd anniversary celebration! I stayed to have lunch afterwards with a couple of family members and it was the most fun and so delicious. The sushi and drinks were refreshing, the hostess and our server were so sweet and kind, and the hibachi chef was so spirited and made us the most delicious meals. Love this place. Decided to try the Hibachi at this restaurant since I had Thai food before. It was so much fun. Just as good as Benihana. The portions are big. I had the ribeye and it comes with Onion soup, shrimp, salad, noodles and vegetables. You get a choice of steam white rice or fried rice for a little more. Shen I sign up for their rewards program, I was emailed a coupon for free appetizers which was either the Gyoza or edamame. I chose the Gyoza and they were delicious. Ambience was great and of course the entertainment to see your food being cooked on the Hibachi. Waitress was very sweet and never had to ask to have my drink refilled. I quickly looked through the menu and saw that they offered a bento lunch special and I got the Thai Iced Tea to go with it. This was the site of friend's birthday gathering and I'm so glad we went. The food was absolutely delicious. I had fried rice and chicken, which I did not want spicy at all and it was not spicy at all. My husband had the fried rice with shrimp, steak and scallops. It also was very good without being too spicy. We sat at the hibachi table with a group of friends and had a really great time. Our waiter was funny, entertaining and he kept things lively throughout the entire meal. The food was reasonably priced and arrived in a timely manner. We hope to return very soon. read more

Huge place with options of teppanyaki or regular menu food. We were craving Thai food. This was an interesting place, they had Thai, Japanese and Chinese food. We ordered Thai noodle soup, duck fried rice and Philadelphia roll. Food tasted great, however the roll never came as you can tell, no picture. What's strange is they plopped the bill on the table and we expected the roll to be on the bill, nope. So the waitress knew that she didn't want to serve the roll and that we didn't want the item, so she cancelled the item on her own terms? Interesting. Very strange style of service. They should work on service, everyone looked anxious, maybe because it was close to closing time. Overall, large space, can fit huge parties, but this party is good and won't be returning. read more

This place is amazing. The hibachi show and food are wonderful. The steaks, shrimp and chicken are fresh and flavorful. The veggies and rice cooked to perfection. The service has been amazing each time we have visited and Togo travels well. It's spacious, nice even temp, and the lighting is good. There's no overstimulation at all, very relaxed. This place has been completely renovated. It was much more updated. Hibachi side and sushi/thai side were very nice with a sushi bar in the middle. The bathroom was also very nice. The food was very good quality with many options. The menu was a bit overwhelming with all the options. But everything we ordered was delicious. I thought the prices were not bad at all but the drink prices were really high. $6 for an adult lemonade is high to me compared to everywhere else. Thai Spice has been a staple in my life, especially since my pregnancy with my youngest son when my number one craving was Thai food. We've dined at Thai Spice for years when it was owned by Pao. We continue to go for lunch about once or twice a month. Yesterday (6 Jul) we decided to celebrate Americas 250. Thought it was a good enough reason. We lunched at the Hibachi Grill with Chef Henry the 8th. lol. We ordered the Filet Mignon and Shrimp, and the lunch was one of the best this we've had all year! The filet was $20 and well worth it. Everything was so fresh and the filet was unbelievable tender. Chef Henry was so funny, that it was well worth the splurge since we don't normally do $20 lunches. Occasion or not, we will be back at least once a month, because we're retired and now is the time to enjoy! Chef and his assistant worked like clockwork, drinks, soup, and then Chef Henry's entertaining cooking show! Thank you, Thai Spice! Next time we're bringing some friends! In the first its my first time see a padthai noodles with lots of seafoods. I thought seafoods its just a shrimp and sauteed it. No fault of their own when I went it was cash only because of the internet being down all over San Antonio so unfortunately I wasn't able to try as much as I would had liked because I didn't prepare to have to pay with cash. I was a little shocked at the $2 up charge for soy paper. I am allergic to seaweed so always have to sub and it's usually only $1.00. I asked to speak to the manager and the lady was the manager and brushed me off and walked away. There's no signage anywhere stating that and I felt like I was racially profiled. I'm in there at least three times a week and spend $60 each time I'm in there. I will not return to eat here ever again. read more

We tried the Hibachi and it wasn't impressive. Really expensive, no flavor, and items on the menu were not available. It's a very small portion for 30-40$ per person. We asked for refills on ice water and the pitcher being used had sprite in it. I asked for chili oil and received fish sauce with chili flakes in it. Usually I do not tip on To Go orders. It's pretty much a waste to me. This time in I tipped and felt great about it. They were soooooo nice. Offered me a drink while I waited. Not just a water, but a drink. That's service right there! I loved the layout of the restaurant too. It was my first time there, so next time I'll need to eat there and bring a date!
