We were traveling to Missouri and we needed something to eat when we were going to the airport and we saw Panera bread. Panera is one of our favorite places to go in San Diego where we live and they have consistent quality no matter where you are. My husband ordered his always usual green goddess chicken salad with a piece of bread and I ordered my latest favorites which are the Baja bowls and the Mediterranean bowls you can get them with or without chicken. I opted for the Mediterranean bowl today without chicken because I wanted the hummus and all the yummy veggies and healthy greens rice and quinoa and cucumbers and it was delicious. It was just the right thing to have before we boarded our flight and I'm so glad we stopped at Panera. They had great service friendly employees and it was nice and quiet inside the restaurant and plenty of seating with ample lighting. Here is a great place to just hang out and read and study and enjoy your food and they have great drinks too And plenty of baked goods to tempt you. read more

I couldn't believe how dirty this panera was, especially during a pandemic. Trays littered most every vacant table, and they were never picked up during my stay the other tables that were available were full of crumbs and trash. They also only brought one item off our ticket and thought the rest had been delivered. I had to wait a while more for a cold bagel. The inflated prices Panera charges these days for mediocre food is hard to believe. I paid around $8 for a half salad yesterday that wouldn't even fill up a toddler. Their frozen coffee, while good, is around the same price as a venti at Starbucks, but the size of a tall. Panera has always been fairly expensive, but the portion sizes were at least reasonable 10+ years ago. I hope Panera rethinks their business model. It would be one thing if their food in real life actually looked like the food they show on the menu, but the real life version is pathetic. Ok Panera Bread! What in the world is this mess. Visited on March 10th at 11:55am. Does this look like a green smoothie to you?? I asked for a green smoothie using the super fruit base. Not only does it look absolutely gross it smells like garbage. I could tell the staff had a complete attitude with having to make a slight change to how they normally make their smoothies, so sorry I asked. I stayed away from Panera for almost 2 years after my last disappointing visit. Well, @ 6:30 am yesterday I decided to give it another try, another disaster folks! The last thing I want, or expect at that hour, is cold day old bagels, right out of the reefer obviously. Wham, yet again they dropped the ball in my opinion. Growing up in New York, I know what REAL BAGELS, are supposed to be. Warm, soft, just the right amount of chewy. Someone from Panera should really travel there and experience the joy of fresh bagels. Never again will I let Panera ruin my breakfast, my morning, or disappoint me in such a expensive mess of a way, for too much $$$! How you manage to fool all these hillbillies is beyond me. I really love the food at Panera Bread, however, my husband drove through today and placed the order, including a steak and arugula sandwich with no pickled onions. What we received was a sandwich with EXTRA pickled onions with the bread so soggy that it fell apart. For a $10 sandwich they ought to be able to get it right! Thank God I'm not allergic to them! Ever since what looks like a new manager has taken over, the service has gone downhill. One time, I ordered food pickup for rapid delivery, didn't check it, and they forgot my soup. The next two times I ordered from there, they ran out of the bakery treats I ordered and just neglected to tell me, while leaving my food sitting up there in a bag until I finally went up there to get it myself. The last and final straw was when I ordered food from this location for delivery. Ordered it at 4:15, they were supposed to have it delivered by 5:00. One hour later...no call to tell me it was late, and no food. I called the store a total of twelve times (I wish I was exaggerating. I'm not), and no one picked up the phone. I had to call the main Panera office to get resolution, and even THEY couldn't get a hold of the restaurant. Long story short: visit the National Location near Missouri State University if you want excellent service. I've never had problems with them. read more

This is the new location with a drive through on Campbell to replace the one that used to be in the Parkcrest Shopping center. I came in on a Sunday morning to pick up a bread order and it was packed! The layout must be new as it is different and far more upscale than the traditional Panera look. The staff was numerous, friendly, and helpful; getting in, picking up my order, paying, and out in less than 5 minutes. It took me longer to get back out on the street as it's not in the best location for such a busy street, but the construction I saw means that hopefully the city is working on it. read more

I eat lunch here daily. I am so happy for the drive thru. They are always pleasant and food is made in a timely manner. You can also order your food online, which is awesome! I've had almost everything on the menu and it's all good. If you need to just get a quick bite this is s great spot to go. They have tons of soups, salads, and sandwiches to choose from. I am a salad and sandwich person so those are my main foods. They also have great deserts and fresh baked bread. I ordered a "pick-two" today for delivery. I didn't choose anything "upgraded" and had no drink included. I decided to tip the driver since I cannot tell if he receives any of the $3.00 delivery fee. The total of my order, including the tip and tax, was nearly $20.00. That's outrageously expensive for a half sandwich and a half salad. I love Panera, but I am consistently disappointed by this location. My biggest complaint is the lack of cleanliness. The doors are always covered in smudgy finger prints/ handprints, the floors are littered with crumbs and old napkins, and dirty dishes are left on tables. Neither of my past two visits were during peak hours so that can't be an excuse for not being able to find time to tidy up the place. In addition to the lack of cleanliness, the service isn't always top notch either. On my previous visit, the cashier entered my telephone number into the register incorrectly so I was unable to receive credit for my visit on my rewards card. When I noticed the problem, the manager was unable to correct it and was unable to refer me to someone who could help (no 1-800 number or website, etc). She offered me a pastry for my trouble. I'm trying to be health conscious and when I told her I did not want the pastry, she was unable to offer anything else, and continued to repeat that she could give me a pastry and do nothing else. Frustrating. I want to like this location because it is the closest one to my house. I keep giving them the benefit of the doubt but each time it is a let down. Please, make cleanliness a higher priority. I want to keep coming back but will start driving farther just to go to a nicer location. read more

Panera used to be my favorite but I'm running out of reasons to love it. My favorite sandwich and salad are no longer available. The panini I have gotten for the last year keeps getting smaller. Tonight my husband and I spent $28. I got a tiny portion of a panini and a salad with hardly any dressing. Their dressing containers are half the size of a normal restaurant, and they only filled my container less than half way. So literally not enough for even the top portion of my half salad. Disappointing! Brand new pretty store, but poor service. We ate on a Sunday evening. I ordered the cranberry turkey flatbread and asked to add mozzarella, which was a .50 upcharge. The serving was small and I could barely even find the mozzarella. My husband wanted a full sandwich and soup as a you pick two and was told he couldn't do that, so we paid handsomely for him to have a full sandwich. There were no baguettes and no apples for sides, we were only offered chips as a side. If there was good customer service, they would have apologized and offered some other items, or a discount.
