I filled it up at the soda machine and sat down to work. The tables were on the small side so we each sat at a separate table to work on our laptops. I stop at this Panera quite frequently because of the Tesla superchargers! Every time, this location has been clean and has friendly staff. One time, I managed to leave my Fanny pack in the restroom and didn't realize until much later in the day. I was able to call them to make sure it was there and pick it up next day with all the contents still intact. Truly stand out staff here! Most recently, I stopped in for a charge and dinner! I was pleasantly surprised by the Mediterranean grain bowl. The side baguette was also SUPER fresh! This location was quite busy - even Sunday close to closing - so maybe that helps too! The staff here are on point and the restaurant is always kept up with in regard to cleanliness, but I have found their food just isn't what it used to be. My favorite sandwich hasn't been on the menu in about five years, the broccoli cheddar tastes more like cream of broccoli, and the soda options have always been limited (as well as being on the expensive side to be honest). When I do come here I tend to just stick to the turkey sandwich with the tomato removed, which is honestly over priced for what it is, or the Asiago bagel with cream cheese. The bagel is one of the few things I've gotten from here since I was young and hasn't changed or been removed from the menu. My parents would often buy bagels from here when family came to visit and the Asiago bagel was always my favorite, but I have a different place I tend to go to for bagels, so I don't end up coming here for bagels often anymore. Overall, this location is a good one, but there are better places to get soup, a sandwich, or a bagel in town. read more

The Manager name Jon is in there almost every single morning. Seemingly running around, trying to do everything. Doesn't seem like you have a lot of employees in the early morning. Dirty tables, the bathrooms are filthy, broken toilets, broken light switch and broken towel dispensers. My hubs ordered a soup in a bread bowl and received a regular ceramic bowl. My wife and I were in St. Joe's for a mini vacation for the last several days. As we're both big fans of Panera, this was one of the places we decided to seek out. What struck me was that this location had a drive-thru, which I had not seen at the locations in Illinois I normally go to. Anyhow, the drive-thru system was pretty flawless. We ordered on the mobile app, and as the place is 10 minutes from hotel, we were surprised at how accurate the order was, and more importantly, that it was READY when we got there! This is significant for us because at the one I normally to go in Oak Lawn, IL, no matter what, orders are never ready on time when you use the app. Anyhow, food was good, no complaints, and no complaints about service, either. My only complaint about Panera as a whole is that I think the food is overpriced, but at the very least, the food is pretty good, and at least at this location, the service was excellent with friendly employees. As I will be in St. Joe's several more times this summer, I will definitely make this Panera our go-to when we are in the area. Three (3) issues with this place that made me decide I'll not try again. 1) I approached the counter several months ago and stood for a while waiting. Finally an employee approaches and said I needed to go to the kiosk . I wanted a bakery item. I left. 2) I've gone thru the drive up too many times to count (my bad) for a coffee and never ever was it hot. The creamer must be kept on ice! I don't have time to go back thru or walk in so they could heat it!? 3) I recently visited and received two sandwiches instead of a half sandwich and salad as ordered. The cashier has a hearing deficit. My mother received and was charged for a bowl of soup instead of the cup she ordered. We didn't realize until the order was complete. Let's be honest--panera is just glorified hospital food. But it was local to my work so I'd stop there... however, the last year has been so awful I don't know why I gave them any type of business. First of all, you never know if the drive thru is open or not. It's not consistent. If you go inside, the staff rather just talk to each other than talk to you. Second, the place is in shambles--such a mess. Third, the people who work there absolutely hate it. The worst attitudes and customer service. The food is ok but the staff needs to be replaced. They are usually polite but cannot seem to get orders right. For some reason this place can never remember drinks. The last time someone went to pick up a group order and something was missing. I called and they said they cannot do refunds over the phone but they can send me a coupon. Ok fine. OMG where to start. I'm convinced the only reason this place hangs on is its proximity to the unaware coming in from I-94. So understaffed the departing cashier directed customers to the kiosks. My wife ordered a salad, and shortly thereafter a cook bellowed they were out of lettuce and would switch to otherwise unidentified "greens." Tables were unclean. Came in early on a Saturday morning on our way to Ann Arbor from Chicago. The counter service personnel were very friendly and helpful, especially given the early hour. Hubby got to talking with the girl at the counter and she highly recommended the egg, cheese, bacon and tomato sandwich. Hubby wanted the souffle so he convinced me to order the egg sandwich thing. (I really wanted the pecan braid.) It was better than expected except that I really don't like warm tomato slices. So I just purged them from my sandwich and it was tasty. Love the coffee here. I cannot explain to you how poor of a service we just had at this Panera. We were ignored, given attitude by not only the workers but the manager as well. When we received our bowls they were basically empty. We understand that the place closed soon but if you are open until the time you say you're open to, you shouldn't be putting things away until your last costumer. We are nurses and we don't get to leave or our jobs early or close down early. I called the store and was told, by the manager, that it could be ordered either with or without chicken. I said, "so I paid $13 for a salad with just greens and fruit, no chicken?"
