This place has always been great and today did not disappoint. I went through the drive thru and ordered and was greeted with a good morning, I didn't feel rushed and he repeated everything at the end. Same thing at the window, a good morning, he took his time and handed each item one at a time, and said "thank you Mark". The food was perfect, as well as the coffee. Perfect! Customer service at its best. Nice job Alex!

My visit at Panera was very pleasant. I obviously have used them for takeout on their mobile app. Their mobile app is very easy to use and you can get your food faster by doing it this way. It's right on route 20 in Sturbridge so it's a highly active area with a lot of traffic going into the restaurant. They have an easy and accessible drive-thru. The parking lot is shared with other buildings so it can be a little difficult finding a convenient spot. The inside stays very clean and the staff is very nice. The food tasted great and fresh, probably one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had. It was a little on the oily side on the ciabatta bread other than that though I had a great experience visiting Panera in Sturbridge.

Argh! Who doesn't have gluten free bread in 2025? This Panera! Could not believe it. Cross it off your list of places to stop

Suuuper slow service. Just waited 30 minutes for a chicken sandwich. I can give a bit of a grace period but a half an hour for a sandwich?

The rudest employees on EARTH, you'll give them a tip and they'll slam the window in your face, don't bother.

"My grandma she can make a soup With a little a this 'n that…read moreBut with grandma cookin no need to worry! Just a little a this 'n that" (Pete Seeger) My final review of 2022 will describe the worst customer service we encountered all year. We had an errand to run in Sturbridge and figured we'd include a lunch stop in town. The Yelp app brought us to Soup to Nuts. #1) I love soup and #2) it's located inside the Sturbridge Marketplace, so we figured we'd do some shopping and browsing too. When we approached Soup to Nuts we saw a sign that said they opened at 11:00. The front door had another sign that said they opened at 12:00. Since the door was locked, and it was about 11:30, we figured we'd check out the Sturbridge Flea Market and come back. At 12:02 their front door was unlocked, and the sign announcing the 12:00 opening was gone. As we entered the restaurant, we were "greeted" by four words spoken (or more accurately snarled) in a very gruff and rude manner - "we're not open yet". Tone of voice matters, and I will look you straight in the eye and put my hand on a stack of bibles and tell you his tone was beligerant and angry (to the point of aggressive). It was beyond rude. It was shocking. So we turned around, left and never came back. Happy New Year ya filthy animal.

I will say that on our first visit we thought the owner was initially a bit gruff as others had mentioned but we quickly realized that's not the case and he is an incredibly gracious host. We've had both the corn chowder and sandwiches here and they are delicious! Keep in mind with some reviews that people are the problem and not the establishment.

However, the menu said ritz cracker topping. I guess with the bacon they skipped the crackers. Husband got pepper, steak and onion "steak bomb". It was good. He also ordered fries. He got a large plateful. Overall not bad if you're looking for something extremely casual.

We visited on an early Sunday afternoon and headed towards the dining area in the back. I was so disappointed to see the 'improvements', the old place had lots of different size tables placed around the room and all of them were different and it was so kitschy in a grandmother sort of way...homey and comfortable. They replaced all the tables with 4 matching tables that seat 4 and looked like they had ends that opened up to enlarge the table. They still had one table that seated 2, but none were near the windows that look out to the country setting of the restaurant. We planned ahead that we were going to try the fish and chips and the pizza because Sweet Evalinas made them both delicious! First thing we noticed was no alcoholic beverages on the menu and I asked our server, nope they don't have a liquor license. Someone came and sat at the next table and left soon as they heard no beer on the menu anymore! Our fish and chips came out first and it was pretty pitiful, the fish was very overcooked and almost burnt and they don't have the great hand cut fries that Sweet Evalinas had, they were just frozen fries. The fish was heavily battered and there was hardly any fish in it and why did they cut it in half before bringing it out? This place gets the award for the worst fish and chips I ever had!! Congratulations! Ok, the pizza was still pretty good and it seems like they got that right. But, while we were eating I heard the server tell another table that they were out of whipped cream ( they also sell ice cream and sundaes and why wouldn't you make sure you had enough for a warm Sunday afternoon? Another table someone asked for a grinder sandwich and was told that they were out of buns. We were really disappointed and probably won't be going back to a place that one of our favorite eating spots was located.
