I haven't been to a Panera Bread in a long time but it seems like the company has gone downhill. I ordered Mac n' cheese in a bread bowl to eat there and after waiting 15 minutes they handed it to me in a to-go bag. I told them it was for here and that the bread was cold and they just dumped the Mac n' cheese into the bowl, threw it on a plate and gave it back. Why would you put warm food in a cold piece of bread? When you take a bite it's very unpleasant to get warm and cold in the same bite. I asked a manager if that's the way it was supposed to come out and he claimed that it was. I'm sorry but I've worked restaurant for many years and I wouldn't serve warm food in a cold bit of bread to anyone. What a waste of $7 but a valuable lesson to not eat this crap anymore. read more

The portions for the 'to go' orders are much smaller than the 'eat in' portion, but at the same price. They always forget something with the to go orders, be it utensils, soup croutons, salad dressing... always something missing. They are not on the ball. Eating in is okay, but expect slow service. read more

Wow! This placed is way overpriced! Why do people pay over $10 for a lunch without the drink. Or $13 with the drink. I get that the ingredients are slightly better than fast food but to cost double? We've come to expect consistent great service. This didn't meet those expectations. On the positive side the food was good and the place was large with plenty of seating inside & out. However..... 1.The location wasn't easy to find. 2. The staff directed us to the new "fast ordering" kiosk. It was difficult to use to say the least! And people were rolling by us placing their orders with the cashier faster. 3. At this location the staff bring the food to you but the order was wrong. Items were missing and she didn't even know it or know what they were. 4. I ordered oatmeal....I like brown sugar but it was covered in so much sugar that I had to scoop out several tablespoons :( 5. No one was wiping tables or sweeping. Very little staff were visible. So who would've cleaned? 6. One customer told a staff member the coffee was out and the staff didn't believe her.....actually, when she looked, three pots were empty!!! read more

I think this is my favorite Panera here in the Syracuse area. It does tend to get packed with SU and LeMoyne students, especially where tables with outlets are prime real estate for laptops. It has a cozier atmosphere than the one in Fayetteville, especially when you sit in the area with the fireplace. I don't like the narrow layout of the one in Fayetteville, where the fireplace, if it's even on, is hidden in some corner nook where few can enjoy the ambiance. . The one is Destiny USA is obviously always packed, but better than sitting in the food court if you can find a seat. I've also been the the ones in Clay and Cicero on occasion and they're not bad. read more

Panera used to be a great restaurant with healthy choices. Now It is just an overpriced food chain that puts no effort in when making the food. Every single time I give It another chance they mess up my order. Tonight I ordered to go and got home and realized they didn't follow my customized instructions on making my salad and the didn't even put dressing It. The food takes forever to get served and I noticed flies on the bakery items. Bathroom was not clean (toilet paper dispenser didn't work!) and tables weren't wiped. Also saw soup bowls piled up at the return station. Those preparing food need to wear gloves! This place is ok if you're getting your food to go and you go at a time that is off-peak, but avoid it at peak meal times. Order online and skip the whole customer service experience! read more

I have nothing against Panera. I actually love it!Unfortunately this is the dirtiest Panera I have ever been to. I will state that it wasn't a chance occurrence that it just happened to be dirty the time and day I went. It is always dirty at this location. You guys need to do something to change this. Your guest shouldn't have to do your job. It's one thing to wipe a table down but having to wipe the seam of the booth cuz it looks like it's never been done before is ridiculous!! I'm sorry but it's not a welcoming environment. Yes, I can take my business to another location and all but that would be an inconvenience to me and I feel it would be one to you guys too. I eat here every now and then, and also at the Cicero and clay locations. It's a great place to meet clients as well because it's usually clean and they have wifi. The food is yummy and I usually get a soup and sandwich combo. The 'Panera card' doesn't seem to be much more than a tracking device though, because the rewards are few and far between. All I'm although, I highly recommend Panera. The turkey bacon bravo sandwich (grilled) is a favorite. read more

Panera Bread in general is very good, this location STINKS!!! Early mornings one of the young men behind the counter looks stoned and high on drugs. Female Manger took my order of 1 bagel, yes 1 bagel, and told me to take a seat. I was like I have to get to work can't you just hand me 1 bagel in a bag...she said please take a seat. 10 min later, no bagel and I had to leave to get to work on time. VERY DIRTY! Felt like I needed to take a shower after I left. Had a ham sandwich with lettuce and yellow mustered and an EXTREMELY small (what they call) bowl of chicken soup. I love me some Panera soup in a bread bowl and their salads are always a tasty treat, but this particular Panera doesn't seem on top of their game. I just moved back to the Syracuse area and have gone to Panera 3 times. Two out of the last two times I went they were out of clean dishes. My friend and I each ordered tea and drank them out of paper cups in the restaurant because they were out of clean mugs. Then they were out of clean silverware so we had to eat with plastic silverware. This annoys me for a couple reasons. If I'm going to eat at a restaurant, I would like it to feel like I'm actually eating at a restaurant and not on a picnic. I think it's also a huge waste - if they're giving everyone plastic silverware and paper cups instead of real dishes and utensils, that's pretty ridiculous. My first experience at Panera - Lunch. Menu has a pick 2 option with salad and soup. Don't be fooled like I was. The price marked after the pick 2 logo is only for the salad Might as well say pick 4. Better yet pick 8. Our bill four 2 half salads and 2 cups of soup was $22.41. 11 Minutes later in the "Rapid Pick-Up" line we got our lunch. A staff member carried out trays to one of the few empty tables. It was dirty so I cleaned it off before she put our trays down. Of course our French Onion soup was cold so I brought them up to get reheated. The staff seemed genuinely concerned. I mentioned that the soup wasn't warm enough to even melt the shredded cheese on top. I was then informed that the soup isn't normally hot enough to melt it. Really? They gave us new soup. Better but not hot. The cheese was somewhat melted. Soup was just OK. It had a thickener in it I think. Next the salad. Very dry. We both had to get extra dressing. With the extra dressing the salad was very good. Bread was very good also but of course we had to ask for butter. We were noobs so next time if there is a next time we'll know to ask for things before we sit down. Overall the experience was just ok. The staff however was extremely well trained. My expectations may have been too high. read more
