    Homestyle chocolate chunk cookie
    Lucy T.

I love Panera Bread. It's always nice and relaxing to come here for me. It's clean, quiet, and who doesn't love the smell of freshly baked bread? You could spend hours here studying or working. I'm no longer in school and can't take my work home with me (Small perk of a hospital job!). I came here the other day for an afternoon pick me up snack. I got one of their new menu items...the homestyle chocolate chunk cookie. I love chocolate chip cookies so I was excited to try it! It was just okay. Not my favorite. The kitchen sink cookie is probably still my favorite. I like that this cookie was big and chunky, but I would have liked if it was a tad sweeter. The staff here is so friendly so I would definitely come back to this location.

Breakfast quiche is great from Panera. I work next door and we frequent this location. Food is fresh and made fast to order. I recommend!

I love coming to this Panera to study. The staff are very nice and respectful, and the food always comes out on time. As a college student, it has been difficult to maintain adequate study habits due to libraries being closed because of COVID-19, so i'm glad that Panera is allowing dine-in. They offer the perfect study atmosphere, outside sitting, and of course free wifi. If coming to study, I would recommend getting here early because a lot of tables/booths are closed off to enforce social distancing.

This location is my neighborhood Panera and my favorite Panera. They are like a well oiled machine. Their service is good and the wait time is short. Because of this, when I'm looking for somewhere quick to get a healthy lunch or dinner on the go, Panera is my go to. You can order online and they have a quick pickup option where you can just grab your food and go. You can also sign up for their free Panera card. Last time I was in there, I got a free Panera birthday pastry. My choice, their chocolate pastry, otherwise known as a chocolate croissant. I also love their salads. Unfortunately, they got rid of their Asian Sesame chicken salad, which was my favorite, but supposedly they are bringing it back. In the the meantime, their watermelon feta salad is fantastic as well as their Fuji Apple salad. If you prefer soups, the French Onion is my favorite everytime.

The Fuji Apple chicken salad was especially tasty!

I've always been a fan of Panera dating back to '99 when I lived briefly in Kansas City. It was a lunch time favorite for me and the coworkers and it was THE best place for bagels. I've not been to this location in a while and the last time I went to a Panera it was in the Summit. That visit was less than stellar, but this time it was on point! I visited this location in Vestavia for lunch and as expected it was pretty crowded. However, there wasn't a wait to place my order and it was ready before I could even get comfy at my table. Since everyone knows of this place I'll just review my meal. I did the "Pick 2", which consists of your choice of a salad/sandwich or soup/sandwich or any other combo you can think of. I tried the Chicken and Fuji Apple Salad and my sandwich was the Sierra (turkey, chipotle mayo, field greens and onions...I didn't get the onions). It normally comes on focaccia bread but they were out. I subbed a croissant. I REALLY liked the salad! Dried apple slices, pecans, bleu cheese, onions (again. And I took them off, again), well-seasoned chicken over field greens. The dressing was a Fuji Apple dressing that was really good...not too tart and not too sweet. Complimented the chicken well. Portion for lunch was just right. It's still a tad pricey for lunch and it's probably why I don't go there very often. My total was a tad over $10, much more than I like to spend for lunch. But quality was good and I would definitely get that salad again.

    Breakfast before a movie!!

I had the beef sandwich. The bread was delicious and had some type of pickled vegetable on it. The turkey stew was also good.

We were seated pretty quickly but waited about 30 minutes before the server came back to give us menus. He appeared to be the only person working so I tried to cut him some slack but it was another 20-30 minutes before we were even able to place our order. They brought out salad appetizers, which were essentially just fresh-cut lettuce with no dressing or flavor. Our food finally came out after about 45 minutes of waiting. I ordered the Beef Kebob and my husband got the Lamb Mandi. The beef itself was flavorful and tender, but there were only about 4-5 small pieces sitting on top of a huge portion of rice. The rice was bland and dry. The lamb mandi also lacked flavor, and the lamb was very dry and bland as well. Overall, it was a pretty underwhelming experience.

Mandi Oasis is unassuming with a small sign right on Green Springs. I had no idea what to order, so I played it safe with Chicken Mandi and a side of naan bread. I had to get back to the office so I ordered to-go. Not even 10 minutes passed before I was walking out with a massive grocery bag of food. What a MASSIVE amount of food. I got a half chicken and a massive pile of rice with the chicken Mandi order. It also came with reshly ground house hot sauce that was spicy but not unbearable. Mostly fresh tomato with a slight jalapeno flavor. The chicken was very tender and juicy. Very lightly spiced, like a super mild baked chicken. It was really delicious. Salad didn't have any dressing and I wasn't sure what to do with it. I didn't eat it. It looked like it was iceberg and cucumbers. Maybe I was supposed to mix it into the rice? The RICE!!! OMG. Perfectly cooked very long grains of basmati were so flavorful with lots of exotic herbs and spices. I pulled out bay leaves and a cinnamon stick- like this is so good. Some of the best rice I've ever had!

Seated immediately and ready to take your order as soon as you decide. The Standard Burger (Lettuce. tomato, onion, pickles, horsey sauce & american cheese) is really good. I have had The Three Hander sandwich (Niman ranch corned beef, fries, tomato, jalapenos, creamy slaw, dijonaise, mozzarella on sourdough) from their original location which is great too. I should probably try other things as well but the lunch deal is hard to pass up. Since it is not too far from my office, will definitely continue to be a part of my regular lunch rotation. Only downside for me is the parking. There are limited spots on the street out front. This place is in the shopping center next to the Vestavia AMC on Highway 31. This place is beautiful and clean - just like the food. They prepare your meal fresh while you watch. You can customize however you like even substituting different toppings. The steak was cooked well done but not dry and seasoned well.
