During the pandemic, we had a really good meal from here, but I don't think I reviewed it. Today in heading back to work from an appointment, I decided to stop and eat in. This place is in the shopping center next to the Vestavia AMC on Highway 31. This place is beautiful and clean - just like the food. They prepare your meal fresh while you watch. I chose the Chicken Tinga bowl with cauliflower rice, and a Pomegranate Mint Lemonade. The nice guy talked me through all of the ingredients as he was fixing the bowl. The bowl was recyclable, and full of deliciousness. Chicken with a touch of heat, corona cheese, kale, celery, black beans, corn, cauliflower rice, avocado half, and a sweet-spicy dressing, all mixed together in a beautiful blend. I could not stop eating - it was THAT good. And if you are not a fan of pomegranate or mint, then you may not appreciate the Pomegranate Mint Lemonade like I did. So delicious and refreshing! (And yes, I took the last of this lemonade out of the container.) Appreciate the friendly service and the amazing food. Well worth the $22.00 paid for it! read more

This was my first visit to not only this location but even any similar concept. Since I have been trying to do a little bit better for my health, I am trying to make better choices and this seemed like a good place to help with those decisions. I decided to go with the Southwestern Steak Salad (Cabbage & Cilantro Blend, Romaine, Seared Steak, Black Beans, Corn, Jalapeño Peppers, Pickled Red Onion, Tortilla Chips) but left out the peppers & onions for personal preference. You can customize however you like even substituting different toppings. The steak was cooked well done but not dry and seasoned well. I found the chipotle ranch to have a bit more heat than I expected and would probably choose a different dressing next time. The serving size was very filling even for someone like me with a big appetite. The staff was friendly & helpful and restaurant was clean with a good amount of seating. It seemed to have more people ordering to go than dining in but was nice enough if not pretty plain. Overall I will likely return and try some other options but I'm not in a big hurry to go back. read more

I typically usually really like Chopt. I like that they have an app I can order from ahead of time and my food be ready when I get here. I opted for a kid's meal of a Jr. grain bowl because I wanted something lighter. I ordered it with braised chicken tinga, grape tomatoes and roasted broccoli. I also got buttermilk ranch, steakhouse blue cheese, bread, and a side of Mrs. Vickie's chips. For the portion, it was worth the price. However, the chicken tinga was just off to me. It tasted somewhat fishy honestly and not fresh at all. I've had chicken tinga before at their Summit location and it was delicious. Healthy eating that's delicious and affordable! I've been to Chopt many times and I'm always very pleased. They have a pre-built menu to choose from, build your own salads, warm bowls, wraps, and seasonal items as well. I ordered the Santa Fe salad with the Mexican Caesar dressing and added panko chicken. The workers were all very friendly and do a great job in keeping the restaurant clean. This is a perfect spot to grab a healthy meal with some friends! So today I decided to grab a salad for lunch as I have done plenty times before. Surprisingly there was no line no wait. However I wasn't greeted when I came in the girl just stood there looking at me and so I just called out my order. I did notice she greeted the next customer. Weird. Then I noticed when I got to work that the bowl was half filled. I have never gotten a salad where my bowl wasn't filled and touching the lid with lettuce. What a great concept. I love this healthy option with no frills. I will say that I heard mixed reviews about their other location, so I wasn't real sure what to expect. If you're wondering, I ordered the classic cobb with Mexican Caesar dressing( on the side) instead of buttermilk ranch. I loved the spicy kick of the Mexican Caesar hitting my tastebuds! I do not recommend ordering a fountain drink. I think it's a waste of money. I had some organic sweet tea mixed with some semi sweet lemonade and it wasn't good to me. Definitely would not go that route again as far as a beverage. Water , please. I think it's a good idea to request your order to go even when dining in. Just makes sense and saves time at the end just in case you happen to have leftovers. I had no leftovers- I almost ate the whole salad. This place is a really awesome spot to get a quick salad or bowl. This is my first visit to this particular location, as I have been to the other location in town. This location did not disappoint. The customer service was amazing and I didn't feel rushed through the line. I got a Santa Fe salad. It comes with grilled chicken. However, they also have a roasted warm chicken that I think pairs better with the salad. So if you do get this salad, ask for it instead. The attendant at this location actually asked which chicken I wanted. I didn't know previously that this was even a choice. So I am glad that he asked. You will not be disappointed if you decide to get the roasted chicken. For some reason, I liked the roasted chicken better, although the grilled chicken is not bad. I just think it pairs better with the salad, as I usually prefer the chicken on my salads to be warm. They give you so much salad and I always get the optional bread too, because it is so tasty. If you want to stop in for a quick salad, then this is a good place to stop in. The salad bowls are bigger than you think. So even if you eat inside, there is a chance that you may want to also ask for a carryout bowl. I like the concept of the place and I really plan to visit again. read more

I ordered online and came to the store to pick it up and it was ready when I got there. This is a great place if you are looking for vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten options! I created my own salad online which allows you to choose 2 greens, 4 toppings, and 2 dressings for $8.99! Which I think is a great deal. To add protein or extra toppings it cost a little extra. Overall good and taste fresh except the grilled chicken. It's more like smoked chicken and has a weird tang to it. Also they don't offer to go dressing so you have to buy a bottle or you get one tiny sauce container of dressing that's suppose to somehow be enough for the whole salad? read more

I love salads so this place is right up my alley. We went last Wednesday night to catch a light dinner. The menu can be a little overwhelming with all the choices so I was surprised when I tried to order my first 2 choices and they were out of the items (special bowl ingredients ) which was disappointing. So I went with my 3rd choice Asian crunch salad and it was good but a little one note with that sesame dressing. What a tasty and healthy delight to have in Bham. Went to the grand opening location in Vestavia Hills to try a few of their delicious salad options. We got two salads, and I actually went with a warm grain bowl (which was an awesome choice). We had the shrimp salad, chicken Caesar salad, and warm grain asian chicken bowl. So many great options!! I've been going to Chopt ever since freshman year and they have so many good options and the salads are so filling. I like how they not only have salads but they have wraps, soups, and warm bowls. I usually get the Crispy Chicken Ranch salad but I decided to change it up and get the Kale Caesar Salad as a vegetarian option. You could also add tofu or falafel if you wanted too. It comes with parmesan cheese, crotons, romaine and kale. You also have the option to chose your salad dressing and how much you want. The salad is a good portion so I'm usually able to save it for dinner or lunch the next day. They also change up the menu often so there is always something new. read more

I really love all of the options for creating a salad or warm bowl. I usually like a create-your-own approach. My husband has gotten the Harvest bowl twice and it's been good both times (but the 2nd time he got a change in dressing on top and they loaded it, too much). My salads have been great both times; I go home with leftovers. The only thing I'll say "negative" is the customer service - it's a little inconsistent. There are clearly people who work there that act like they hate their job or there is some unresolved conflict circling through employees. A nice, smiling face would go a long way. Worst salad EVER. It was supposed to have chicken. I pain 18$, had 3 small pieces of chicken. They are so cheap, they actually put the slice in the same container as the salad. I asked for dressing on the side. The manager was rude, curt, said " have a nice day" , and hung. He could not be bothered with accepting responsibility for an overpriced, DISGUSTING product. Looking at the other reviews....I must've come on a bad day. It's really hard to find places that serve salads that aren't wilted/brown/soggy....and unfortunately I experienced that here as well. I got a pick up order and when I opened my bag, I was dismayed to see a rotten avocado sitting on top. This is my time eating here, so I was still feeling optimistic, and I figured I could just take the brown part off and eat the rest of the salad. Well I did that, only to realize almost all the lettuce was brown around the edges. Still I tried to eat around the brown pieces, but it just got too tedious so I threw the whole thing out. The lady who helped me today was incredibly kind and sweet. She informed me that they did not carry their old harvest bowl but helped me create my own out of the new one they carry. People like her are what makes my day so much less stressful when I work a very demanding job day to day. Now the guy that had an attitude immediately when I asked if I was supposed to order in front of his iPads or the others, is what really disturbs me. If I'm not mistaken, I did not hold him hostage and make him fill out an application to work there. To my knowledge I'd figure he willingly works at a place that serves food but then gets mad when someone comes in to... eat? Very confused.
