Chipotle Chicken, Egg & Avo Sandwich Squished and gross
    Jonathan R.

Food quality rapidly declining over the past year. What's happening at this location?? A few months ago they stopped offering the orange-cranberry muffins and pumpkin muffins. Then the cinnamon rolls went from being fluffy, tall, and moist to being flat and dry like a hockey puck. I often get the breakfast sandwiches and noticed the biggest decline in quality with these items. They used to be full, freshly made, visually appealing sandwiches. They also looked (mostly) like the pictures on the app. Now they have become flat, squished, and nothing like the pictures. Check out the photo comparison I included. They are not worth the $6.59 price, which goes up to $7.89 if you get delivery and they increase the price of all items for that method!

I like this Panera because I can meet family and friends here . It is the closest to my house. Food has always been good. Drinks fair. Sometimes it looks like they don't fill my cup all the way up.Service is nice . They are a bit slow getting orders out. Especially when you only order a drink. For the most part we think it is great but like I said a little slow. Clean and plenty of parking

I do love Panera and this is a first time visit at this store located in the Red Mill area of Virginia Beach. Parking is all surface and around the store. I found the lot and walks clear of debris. The storefront is hidden from the road and faces inward, so if you find yourself searching from the street your not see the sign. Like all Panera's they have a kiosk system to place the order yourself if you like. In my opinion this works best when their is a line which there was not early Friday afternoon when visiting. The young male staff was friendly and helpful with my son's order of chicken tortellini with side baguette. I got a chocolate chip cookie. The decor is obviously Panera, but each store has a bit of their own identity on floor plan. This plan seems to be smaller in square footage, but more than ample. Since the dining room is not deep lots of natural light flows to the rear. All tables not used were clean. The bus yourself trash area as well as the drink station were also clean. Our order was expedited by the store manager and took less than 10 minutes. My son reported that the taste of everything was good and since he ate everything I assumed this to be the case. My cookie was fresh and yummy! I would not hesitate in returning and would recommend others try. Panera as a chain seems to be consistently above average and this is why I return.

Dave and I were in the area and wanted to grab lunch. Line was super long- it was almost out the door. We decided to order our food at the kiosk station. We really liked the convenience of being able to look through the menu and select our order on the touch screen. Once you're done ordering you just grab a number and they'll bring your food out to you. You can also order from your table using their online app. Each table has a table number and after you place your order they can bring your food out to you. Very smooth and convenient food ordering process. Food was good. Dave ordered the Italian sandwich with chips. Chips were too salty. He also got a chocolate chip cookie which he said was perfect. I ordered the pick two: broccoli and cheese soup with a Chipotle chicken sandwich. Nice visit. Good service. Clean bathrooms.

Good enough for a "bagel" and coffee for breakfast, which sucking down some wifi to send work emails. I put the "bagel" in quotes because it's good and it has the flavor but come on. This isn't exactly a New York style bagel. But you can't beat the convenience of a comfortable table with free wifi (it will cut out on you during the busy lunch hours) and more than enough power outlets with unlimited refill coffee. This is a good location in the shopping plaza with plenty of parking.

Bacon Turkey Bravo with some cinnamon on it? Couldn't finish eating it. What did you have my bread next to Panera?

I just got back from deployment and was looking forward to having a good sandwich from Panera. I got halfway through it and took a bite of cinnamon streusel on my bacon turkey bravo sandwich. Bummer!

I barely visit this place since it's far from home. But let me tell you, today I came by after my dog's appointment and put my order into the kiosk. Waited a little bit and the manager approached me and asked what's my name. Right away he checks my order at the back and came back with it. I even requested some butter and he willingly turned around and gave me some including the knife. He is very attentive and focused. I recommend this place. Thank you sir!

The outside of the business isn't hard to find. The large signage and being located along a curve in the shopping center helps make it stand out and easier to find. You can see the available outdoor seating there too. It wasn't too busy either for around 4:20 pm on a weekday. My mom came with me on this visit. We had found a gift card for here, so that's what brought us here. Once you come inside, the first thing I noticed is that to the left was primarily a shopping area for stuff, and the restaurant is on the right side of the business. We were immediately greeted at the entrance and went to a table in the dining area. Shortly after, our server Olivia came to the table to introduce herself and ask us what we wanted to drink. In this case, both of us just had water, though I had mine with lemon in it. After the drinks came, she asked if we were ready to order, but we weren't quite ready since it was the first time here for us. After several minutes passed, she came back and we were finally ready to order. My mom ordered the Egg Salad Sandwich and I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Panini. Both sandwiches came with their housemade chips. After about ten minutes or so, the food came out to the table. Both food items looked really good. The Chipotle Chicken Panini was hot and flavorful. It did pack some spice, but not too much. The homemade chips were good and crispy too, just the way I like them. My mom really liked the Egg Salad Sandwich and the chips too. Overall, this was a very good visit. The food and service were great. When it came time to pay, the gift card didn't work and they were not able to honor it. Apparently the gift card was pretty old. The manager came and checked it out too and couldn't make it work either. She said that I would be contacted afterwards, but I never did hear anything back about it. They are locally owned, so it was likely something they couldn't do. Regardless, I do plan to come back in the future as the food was really good, though not too much since I don't want to over-carb myself too much. If you're looking for a local non-chain sandwich place, this place is worth checking out.

Eventually, one server told me someone would be right with me, but no one showed up for another five minutes. I just sat there awkwardly waiting. When I finally was able to order, I got a mimosa that was subpar and tasted more like syrup. The restaurant itself did look nice. I ordered the pick two. It wasn't to write home about. Over all experience was a flop.

This location was extremely busy and packed when I visited, and honestly, that's usually a good sign...when a place stays that busy, clearly something is going right. What really stood out to me, though, was Colton. He went well beyond what I would normally expect from someone working the host/to-go area. He personally made sure my steak was exactly how I wanted it and genuinely seemed concerned about whether I was happy with my order. That type of customer service deserves recognition. He knows how to take care of customers, and in my opinion, he deserves a raise! I do think there is an opportunity for improvement when it comes to management. There was a manager positioned at the front during my visit, and while I obviously don't know her personally or whether she is generally a nice person, her disposition toward customers did not come across as particularly friendly or welcoming. More importantly, I noticed a clear difference in how warmly she interacted with certain customers versus others. When you're in a management position, customers should feel like they're receiving the same level of courtesy and hospitality across the board..you shouldn't pick and choose who gets the friendly version of you. It was especially noticeable because she remained at the front for much of the time, closely overseeing the hosts, so those of us waiting on to-go orders could clearly observe the differences in her interactions with different patrons. If you're going to be that visible and hands-on with your staff, I think it's even more important to model the same customer service you expect from them. Thankfully, Colton did exactly that. Despite how packed and hectic the restaurant was, he remained attentive, personable, and genuinely cared about making sure I left satisfied. Colton was absolutely amazing and was easily the standout of my experience. Management should recognize him because employees who care about customers like that are a huge part of why people come back.

The game itself was lively, well-paced, and everyone seemed to have a great time. The patio where the event was held is beautiful, and it was spacious enough for the crowd. The only downside to the seating was that some guests ended up behind a wall where they could hear the caller but couldn't actually see her or the plants being awarded. One suggestion that I think would make the event even better is the prize structure. When there are ties, the winners have to play rock-paper-scissors to determine who gets the plant. While that's part of the fun, I felt bad for the people who won their bingo card but ultimately went home with a donated T-shirt, soil, or plant food instead of a plant. Even a small, inexpensive plant for the runner-up would make the experience feel more rewarding, especially since the event is centered around plants. The food and service were a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the California Club with sweet potato fries, and it was delicious. However, the menu was more limited than expected, and we were told some of the regular menu items (including the tacos!) weren't available during the event. Our server was genuinely pleasant and did the best she could, but she appeared to be covering more tables than one person reasonably should. Service was slow, and we had to remind her about our drinks after our food had already arrived. It felt more like a staffing issue than a service issue. One thing I didn't care for was the payment process. We were only brought a credit card slip with the total to add a tip and sign after our card had already been charged. We had to specifically ask for an itemized receipt to review the charges. I would have preferred the opportunity to see the bill before my card was run or at least have the option to use a different payment method. The event advertising was also a little misleading. The description said, "Join us for 20 rounds of bingo, raffle entries, plant prizes, tacos & drinks!" Based on that wording, it certainly sounded like tacos and non-alcoholic beverages were included with the ticket price. Instead, everything had to be purchased separately, and we were told the tacos (which are on the regular restaurant menu) weren't even available during the event due to the limited event menu. Clarifying that food and drinks are available for purchase would help set better expectations. Despite those issues, we genuinely enjoyed ourselves. I was fortunate enough to win one of the plants, and it's beautiful. My suggestions are simply things I think would make an already fun event even better for everyone. The energy of Plant Bingo, the beautiful patio, the organized check-in, and the friendly atmosphere made for an enjoyable evening, and with a few improvements to the prize distribution, staffing, payment process, and event advertising, it could easily become an even better experience.

I recently attended plant bingo hosted at Sage Kitchen located inside the Anderson garden Center…read more  I was promptly greeted and directed to the check-in table. The check-in process was seamless; my group received our bingo cards and the flyer outlining the 20 game plays, and we appreciated the flexibility of the indoor and outdoor seating. The service was both friendly and efficient. We were required to start a tab; I was unsure if this is standard policy or specific to the event, but either way it worked out well. I ordered the Baja bowl: grilled chicken, black beans, corn, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and avocado served on cilantro-lime rice topped with tortilla strips and Aji Verde sauce. My bowl was delicious, fresh and portioned just right. The plant selections for the prizes were great, I actually won a Pothos Yellow Flame. I do have two suggestions: 1. Consider having extra plant prizes available for tie-breaking rounds instead of playing rock-paper-scissors. If you win you deserve a plant. 2. It would be helpful if guests were provided with a copy of their bill to verify for accuracy before their card is charged and the tab is closed. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the event. I look forward to returning to Sage Kitchen soon.

My visit here was on July 4, 2026. The outside of the place isn't hard to find or see. When you look at it from the outside, it looks more like a tropical type of theme. Parking did seem pretty limited as they were busy when my mom and I got here. Based on that, parking can be severely limited during peak times. Once we came inside, it definitely looked like a tropical theme, which was easy to see throughout the place. Another big thing I noticed as soon as we came in (and remained the case the entire time) that it was excessively loud. It was hard to hear each other, and even our server. I never got over to the outdoor seating area as it was pretty busy. We were greeted by a hostess at the counter and we were immediately seated. With it being busy as it was, our server came over to the table and said she would be back shortly, though it was a bit longer than expected. Someone else came by to ask if we wanted water while waiting for her to come back and we both did that. Once she was able to come to the table, we weren't quite ready to order yet, but I did get the Bay Bloody Mary. The Bay Bloody Mary was good and did have a kick to it, as expected, though more than I thought. It was still good though. After a few more minutes, we were ready to order. I decided to go for The Lesner With a Waffle as the main course item, scrambled eggs, and bacon with Cheese Grits and a Fried Biscuit as the side items. My mom ordered the Jamaican Dark Rum French Toast entree with bacon and a fruit skewer. Given how busy it was, I was surprised that food came out about ten minutes later after ordering. The food looked really good and hot when it came out. I don't normally do a waffle, but that waffle was really good. I only put butter on it as I didn't want to add even more sugar to the meal already. The bacon was nice and crispy as requested. I wasn't sure how the Cheese Grits would be, but they were surprisingly good. The last item I had was the Fried Biscuit. Wow that one was a highlight for sure, though I won't do that one too often. My mom said the entree she had was good too and there were no issues. Overall, this was a good visit. I would give it 3.5 stars but rounding to 4 in this case due to the great food. The biggest negatives were the noise levels, as it was hard to talk to anyone there, and they automatically add an 18% tip for all transactions, regardless of party size. Given the circumstances, the service was good too. I will come back in the future, but maybe not on a weekend or around a holiday where it gets busier than normal. This place is worth checking out if you are in the area and looking for something to choose from to eat at.
