This review is specifically for their Barbi fried chicken. Man oh man it was good. It reminded me of KFC chicken in Jamaica. Never had I had fried chicken baked in BBQ sauce before. Everything about it was good. Not too saucy and not too fried. I also had their rice and peas which was a little under cooked along w a side of sweet plantains. The customer service was ok. The young lady at the counter wasn't overly nice or friendly but did her job and the food came out in 10min or less. read more

It saddens me to have to leave a two star for this place. Don't get me wrong the food is delicious. If this review was based on the quality of food I would give it a five. They recently "Remodeled" and they no longer have a dine in area anymore. I waited 45 minutes for a simple jerk chicken& shrimp pasta that's all no big order at all. The manager (who I'm assuming) kept telling me my food was coming three times and no food. She constantly told me "The staff is new give them some time". Horrible customer service at Lauderhill location those girls were rude and unwelcoming and my food was cold

I ordered online. When I arrived at the time they said it would be ready they told me another 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I got the food only to find that the food was cold not even warm, it taste like food that had been sitting all day. The rice was so soggy and disgusting the chicken had potential but it was too cold. I'm trying to figure out what I was waiting for. They could have at least but it in the microwave. Ive eaten there because of convenience several times and every time I was reminded on how this business will not last another year because of the way they deal with customers. Visited PanFridays on a Saturday afternoon about 3pm. Cashier was curt at best should of been my indication to exit the eatery. I placed an order for 1 fried chicken with rice and peas, and 1 barbifried chicken meal asked the cashier "what pieces of chicken are available?" I was told dark meat leg/thigh and white meat wing/breast. I requested wing and breast for fried chicken white meat, and leg and thigh for barbifried chicken. Cashier informed me the order would take 20 minutes... I asked to use the restroom and was told by the cashier "there is no bathroom the closest is at Dunkin Donuts." I had already ordered and paid for my food so suggesting that I walk to Dunkin Donuts this was not an option my business is being conducted with PanFridays not Dunkin Donuts. Duly noted however, it is illegal to have a restaurant of any kind even take out and not have bathroom facilities for the patrons use. Management you need to address this issue before you get cited for same. The wait was greater than 20 minutes no bone of contention there I reasoned the food is being cooked to order. However greater than 30 minutes later I am totally offended by the music being played on the speaker sound system it is reggae music which I love usually except it's a string of expletives using the slang for female vagina P this P that man a P mi a go F the P slap the P etc... next song pure cussing and BomB Cl@t dis BomBcl@t dat and on and on it played. My husband asked the cashier "please can you change the music it's very offensive." Cashier replied" NO!" On the music continued playing same basic words to different beats My husband asked the Cashier again "please can you select different music?" This time the Cashier replied "I can't control the music." Another lady came in and demanded the music gets changed perhaps after hearing it from someone else it finally was the deciding factor and then Sanchez was the choice thank you! I received my food the fried chicken was black literally burned and there were no wings in either meal. BTW the cashier handed my husband the food and said " we no have dark meat so I gave you white meat instead or you can wait 30 minutes for it." NO I DON'T THINK I WANT TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR TOTAL TO GET BURNED CHICKEN and soso rice and peas made with can red kidney beans that are tough never mind I did ask for brown stew gravy on the rice and chicken that did not make it to the food. The plantains were freezing cold and tough like board. I would give the overall experience -1 if possible but 1 is the minimum. Very unfortunate I patronized PanFridays for years but this last visit will be my last time. This was by far the worst experience ever to wait almost an hour for food and the sad part I called ahead to still not have my food ready on time. 25-30 minutes turns into an hour, they definitely need to do better. The worst part about it you can't ask how long will it take sense it's been an hour without them catching an attitude and rolling their eyes at you. Last Saturday, I ordered over the phone. Ordered jerk chicken, rice and peas, which came with plantains and side salad. Wife ordered the jerk shrimp pasta which was very good. Although I ordered over the phone and was given an approximate time, when I arrived 8 minutes after the allotted time still had to wait almost 10 minutes just to pickup. Would have been nice if they gave me a complimentary beverage for my wait, but I bought one myself anyway. On our return visit today, wife ordered a veggie burger and was told a 20-25 min wait, 40 minutes later and witnessing numerous people come in order and get their food and leave, it was disconcerting that no one came over to apprise her of how much time was left. Then she felt she waited long enough and the young lady who took her order went to the back, returned without any apology other than to say she was new and didn't realize how much time it would have taken. Wife had to go back to work and left upset and will dispute the charges as there is a post no refunds. We will see. No food or service, no money. To add to the fact that the quality of their food has significantly declined from its younger, fresher days, so has their service. There is nothing I resent more than a business that has built confidence from their growth and start to have less regard for the very people that have contributed to it. I placed an online order around 5 only to be called and told that "we are cancelling your order because we do not serve Barbifry chicken at that price after 4." I asked her why would the customer be penalized for a listing that is still on their lunch special app, rather than just honoring it. The foolish response was that we do not have any food at that price. She also said that they are unable to remove the listing which is why it is still there. Unless their Barbifry lunch special is old food, I'm curious to know what is in today's pot. I also informed her that I only use the app because the phone customer service is horrible, and it isn't there on Saturdays so not being able to remove the listing is a complete lie. I am beyond tired of their typical behavior anyway, which is compounded with this latest crap, that my household will no longer support. But I'm sure they won't mind. read more

They have a few sauces on the side next to the register. Barbie-Q sauce, ranch, honey mustard, a raspberry dressing, jerk sauce. All were good and they seem House made from scratch. The customer service was fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either. They served me my food and and any questions I asked they answered. The seating was limited there is a few places you can sit and eat and a small waiting area but don't expect a fine dining experience. This place is more of a pick up and go and that's fine by me. As for the food: it was great! I highly recommend almost everything I had. Mac and cheese was delicious! It's baked a bit but a nice creamy interior and very flavorful. the cheese fries were great, well seasoned and I personally appreciate that it is NOT a cheese sauce but rather melted shredded cheddar with scallions on top. The jerk chicken pasta was very good as well. A nice thick sauce very tasty and although they say mini lunch special I was stuffed by only eating half (remember I had bites of everything else but regardless that alone will fill you up) as for the Barbie chicken personally I'd prefer a little more chicken but where they lack in that the take out box was stuffed with rice and beans and cabbage and for a lunch special the chicken was just enough. I could almost use just that one meal for two portions. Oh and the chicken was delicious. Again everything was well seasoned, very good and if your an islander you will definitely appreciate the meal. Why isn't a five star? Only because for me five I the best of the goddamn best. I've tried everything except the fish. The jerk chicken is ok, the jerk pork is tough & chewy, the barbi fried chicken is ok, and so is the fried chicken. The jerk pasta is their better dish. The veggie burger is ok. My only downside is that the food is overpriced. $10 gets you a quarter chicken and a small side. The sweet plantains were burned when I had them, however the green plantains are always on point. This place is a 3/5 because the food isn't bad, but it's not wow. It's definitely overpriced as far as portions served. It's in my neighborhood so I would eat there again out of convenience and lack of options when it comes to jerk (limited around here) read more

Another Caribbean restaurant providing you with great food from home without you actually having to go back to your home island. My favorite item on the menu is the Barbi Fry Chicken, oh my gosh it reminds me so much of KFC BBQ chicken back home. I absolutely love it. The customer service is also good. Most of the time when I order the same cashier serves me and I believe she also answers the phone. She is patient and explains everything to you thoroughly. First time I went here I was so amazed on how good the food was and the portions. It wasn't too pricey and the food was amazing. i went back a second time and the portions were cut in half for the same price, still that didn't stop me because i loved the rice and jerk chicken. About two weeks ago I ordered about 6 plates to be delivered to my job for me and my coworkers because I wanted them to see how good this food was. when the delivery man came first thing he asked for was the money gave him the money and he stated your 5 dollars short due to a delivery charge which of course was understandable (i just wish they told me before coming so i could of had everything ready) as I'm going through the food i notice one plate is missing, now i ordered this food at 11:25 so by 12:20 all the food would be here and every one could eat during their lunch break. I tell the man I'm missing food he tells me he has to go back and get my food give him 20 mins. 40 mins go by my food isn't deliver yet and my break will be over in 20 mins. I call pan Fridays to complain because i just paid for delivery charge and didn't get my food. The lady who claims to be the "manager" was so rude and unhelpful. She tells me what does i expect her to do human make mistake and she doesn't care that i will never eat at her establishment again. She didn't apologize she didn't try to compensate me or anything. Finally 1 hour and 10 mins later my food arrives. I couldn't eat my food because i had to go back to work so my food got cold. Once i open the container i see that the portion was cut again. I got 2 pieces of chicken when i used to get 4 and there was hardly any rice and i got no salad. I'm very disappointed that a restaurant can get so greedy and want to charge people the same price for not even half the food. A business is nothing with bad customer service. The food here is always good but do you know what they truly live up to as a Jamaican restaurant.. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've never once ordered there and my order is correct. I always order white meat because that's what my entire family eats so I always make sure to ask whenever I call if they have any available and most times the answer is yes knowing they don't have. In one instance I've gotten a thigh disguised as a breast like who don't know real white meat, other times they wait until I get there to tell me no white meat. You take my number when I order so what happen to giving a courtesy call to say "sorry we ran out of white meat would you like to order something else"? Then the cashiers think because they are not the ones in the back preparing it you shouldn't complain to them, you guys are the faces of the restaurant the ones that interact with people therefore you get the complaints. If only they would improve on service maybe the ratings would be higher but as for taste it's good. read more

Their food is a delicious new take on Jamaican cuisine. I usually order the jerk chicken or jerk chicken and shrimp pasta. It's still delicious days later if you can manage to leave any leftovers. I am a repeat customer of this establishment. I have ordered menu items at takeout, I have gone in and sat down to dine, and I have also used their catering services for my own personal use as well as business through my school. Last evening 3/9/17, I walked into Pan Fridays at 8:50pm. There were patrons dining in the dining area, as well as customers on line. I stood in line as the cashier serviced the customers in front of me. At 8:55pm I inquired about whether or not there was any brown stew chicken available and the cashier who was friendly, walked to the back to ask the chef. The cashier returned an informed me that there was no brown stew chicken available and also let me know that the chef was refusing any more orders because the establishment is closed. I pointed to the time and told her that it is 8:55pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm. The cashier informed me that she understands and that she is sorry. I would have completely understood if I were told that there were no more entrees available, but to tell me that the chef is not taking any more orders and to be turned away is completely offensive. I walked into an open door, stood on line, and the cashier asked me for my order. To turn around and be denied is completely unacceptable considering I was in the store before the store closed and should have been served. Customer loyalty deserves good customer service. read more
