This review is for a visit in early September, for baked goodies only, and take-out only. We just popped in after having lunch at the Firehouse to see if it was a real bakery; it was a pleasant surprise to find that it was! Loaded up on cookies, brownies, and lemon bars. The cookies were a little off somehow; dry and lacking in flavor but this could be a personal preference as I love an almost raw cookie and want to taste each ingredient in a bold way. The brownies were amazing! Soft, chewy, rich. The flavors and texture had great depth and only got better with a little reheat in the microwave! The lemon bars were fabulous. Again, this is personal preference... I know many like lemon in baked goods to be subtle and lean more to fresh citrus rather than standard lemon acidic. I like the lemon acidic tang when I can get it! There was nothing subtle about the lemon in these, kudos!!! The texture was right on and the crust was nice and thin... Just enough to support the contents but not much more. The momma also collected an assortment of morning pastries to share with one of the many clubs she is a member of... I and my friends have eaten lunch at Pangeas a countless number of times and have always found the food to be of the highest quality. Each patron is given their due time when it is their turn to order and food is almost always promptly delivered and beautifully presented. I personally find the bakery to be a warm and inviting and the breads are fantastic. The owner is extremely hard working and conscientious and I have never experienced her as anything but friendly and helpful. read more

I want to love this bakery-it's close to my house and convenient for lunch. Great quality food, great croissants-their ham and cheese croissants are amazing. Most of the staff are very welcoming and friendly. But-the owner, Nicole, is not friendly. When we requested a sandwich no mayo, she yelled from the prep area "so you want that dry?! I said yes, she does not want mayo on it. She made a face-the one that says wow, that's really stupid-and walked away. When she put the sandwiches on the counter, she didn't even look up. In the other restaurants in town, people will look up, smile, and say thanks for coming in-especially the owners. I was the only one in the shop so it wasn't because she was busy. Also, every time I have gone in, this time at 12:30, they are out of quiche and soup. Both of these items will keep a day or two, so there's really no reason to not make enough to get through the lunch period. On Sat, the last day I went they were out of these items and all the types of croissants by 12:30. From now on I will drive the extra mile to Olde World Bakery-they have great food, in quantity, and the owners are quite friendly and welcoming. Ate peach turnover and pesto veggie pizza. Both were ok. Also ordered iced green tea of some sort. This involved hot tea that you pour into a cup full of ice. Needless to say, that diluted the already dilute flavors of the tea. A great find off the beaten path! We passed by this place and looked in with our noses on the window...a must do before we headed back home. Nicole (the owner) and another guy behind the counter were both so warm and friendly. I wish I could take them both back to Phoenix! You just have a feeling that Nicole is really proud of her creations...just look at the pastries! My hubby quickly decided on this humongous flaky chocolate croissant and regular fair trade organic coffee. My little cutie pie only wanted iced white chocolate drink they made for him. I had the Mocha Latte...yummers! We also picked up one of the most delicious glutten free loaf of walnut raisin bread, croissants, morning muffins and blueberry coffee cake. They gave us a free loaf of wheat bread for Father's Day...so sweet of them. I heard they also make some mean sandwiches here. They are worth the couple of hours drive for lunch! read more

Oh my lord. This place is pure yet rustic divinity. I love the Earth friendly vibe of the whole place but the food and coffee is just...perfection. The owner is clearly an expert in taste and has put so much time and thought and effort into each and every aspect of her presentations. This morning we enjoyed two slices of quiche loraine, two cups of coffee and an orange and cheese danish. The quiche loraine was the best I've ever had in my life. I've never had anything like it. It was absolutely dreamy. The danish was bliss. Subtle sweet orange and creamy decadent cheese. And the coffee, I take mine with cream and honey, and it was better than my home coffee. I expected it to be a bit more fancy, but the prices are decent, and as I said, the bread is good. i also had a chocolate chip, which I thought was good as well. My wife and I frequent Pangaea weekly. I typically eat there 8 - 10 times per month. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly (especially the owner if she can get a free minute to chat with you) and the service is great! Personal fav's: Chipotle Roast Beef Sandwich on Cranberry Walnut bread. Any of the pizza's. The breakfast 3-egg Panini. Then everything else! Only word of caution: if you order pizza and have it warmed up you may have to remind the counterperson to grab it! read more

We eat keto, but when a friend brings us a loaf of baked-on-site bread from Prescott's hometown bakery, we can't help but enjoy it to the max. Toasted with real butter or dipped in a mixture of olive oil and balsamic--all I can say is it's the best bread you can find anywhere in Prescott. Plus! Nicole is an extremely good baker. Her bread crusts are perfect. Her quiche, pizza, sandwiches, parfait, cakes, pies, danish, are all better than anything you find in Prescott so far as my experience informs me. Pangea was named one of the best Arizona breakfast and lunch spots by Arizona Highways. The coffee is the best in town, and Nicole always personally takes my dog a biscuit or two when she knows he's tied outside. read more

I have read reviews about the owner of this bakery that were not very complimentary. I have never met her. What I do know is that this place is unreal. I drive from Scottsdale to just go here. The best apricot pecan bread, the bake goods are like nothing I have had here since I left the East coast. Their pies are wonderful, the cherry pie is full of fruit and the best crust ever. Not impressed. I just moved to Prescott a few months ago and had been really excited to check the place out after reading good reviews in local papers and on yelp. As soon as I walked in I was turned off by the haphazard decor. Dirty sea green wall paint, oil paintings (these may change?), hymn-like music, and industrial tables and chairs. I was really excited about my leek quiche, but it was a total let down. It tasted more like cream than egg and had almost the consistency of a mousse. My friend's turkey sandwich was very fresh, but nothing to write home about. I think they make their own potato chips, and those were pretty good. Coffee was delicious. Cookies were meh. Maybe their bread is good? I probably won't go back to find out. read more

Recently heard through the grapevine that Pangaea is getting ready to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Guess it's time for me to finally write a review! This is a great bakery! I truly appreciate the artisan breads made with organic flour. The spelt sourdough is my favorite although I am also quite fond of the whole wheat, the French sourdough, the rye -- they're all delicious! Also, Pangaea is more than just a bakery with tempting cookies like chocolate chunk with walnuts and lemon bars. They have wholesome breakfast and lunch offerings including free-range eggs for breakfast and home-made pizza at lunch time. The sandwiches are available by the whole or the half. My husband and I often order a whole sandwich and then split it. Small & Large salads with mixed greens and home-made dressings are also available. The soup offerings vary from day-to-day -- they are hot and hearty and the portions are generous. Over the years, I've pre-ordered cakes for special occasions and I've always been amazed at the delectable beauty of the finished products! When you go at lunchtime, there is often a gaggle of customers at the counters, so remember that "Patience is a Virtue." Sandwiches are made to order, so sometimes that requires a little wait. This is a typical bakery. I got a loaf of fig and walnut bread. The bites with the fig are good, but the rest of it is very tasteless. I didn't get a sweet treat but they did look amazing. Ordered a 1/2 pesto mozzarella sandwich with the house salad. Very very good! The pair at the counter were really friendly. I regret not purchasing a loaf of bread- they had so many different kinds and they all looked so good. The only major downer was that I ordered a slice of pie to-go and later discovered the bottom was very undercooked. Practically still dough and I threw it away. Strange because you'd think they'd have noticed too when slicing/ packaging it up.. I'll give them another shot next time I'm up there bc my lunch was great but will look closer if I order pie again. read more

I've been going here for a long time because I love the food, unfortunately I don't think I'll be returning anymore. It almost always feels like you're imposing on the staff by ordering (because you shouldn't be taking up their valuable time with your order and money???), even the owner is very unfriendly - sometimes downright rude! I even heard a person in front of me say she felt like she was annoying the owner when ever she ordered. The food is good but not good enough to make up for the service. If you've got the patience for it, give it a try just for some of the food, unfortunately I don't anymore. I would hope that the staff and owner see some of these reviews and make changes accordingly because it has a lot of potential being lost just because of some bad attitudes. Like I said - I'm not an out-of-towner. I've been going here a long time, and now I'm just done with feeling like I'm annoying people with my business. read more

HPS Plumbing was called out for a simple service to replace a water valve in my bathroom but ended up taking 2 days when my outside water pipe burst below the water shut off valve. Fortunately, Albert Sanchez from HPS Plumbing saved me from further damage with services that far exceeded my satisfaction. He ended up having to rework the piping that will make it easy to shut my water off if or when necessary. Albert was prompt and the quality of his work was extremely professional.
