Came here with coworkers for our intern's farewell lunch. This was my first time here. Plenty of parking - convenient plaza off Bristol not too far from South Coast Plaza. Area isn't super nice though - so heads up to stay vigilant in terms of safety. Restaurant - plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Little to no wait and we didn't have any issue with getting seats for everyone even with a larger party of 12 people. They let us move tables and chairs around and put them together. Let alone a very mediterranean decor set up. ‍‍ Now there's only one place to get said chicken from right? The front counter, who graciously asked us how my day was and even asked if it was my first time. Gleefully discovering that it was my first day as such. From then, every part of the menu explained, every aspect including seasoning and what would go best with it. Keep in mind that this level of service is going with average level pricing for chicken. You won't find that at a lot of places especially given how chicken can be plainly sold time to time. Given the portions, I'd say price-wise for other items and the chicken itself, isn't disappointing. Speaking of chicken, this where I was guided to have the Lemon Garlic Spicy Whole Chicken paired with kale salad and the coleslaw they make in house. Now the chicken itself, to my surprise wasn't just mainly savory but that lemon spice taste is there. It's the first thing to welcome you upon your first bite actually. I ordered Sole fillet plates from door dash and I was so excited since this place has high reviews but when the food arrived I was extremely shocked. As I was enjoying my food I noticed a long string like texture from my fish. I got scared but wanted to know what it was. It was a WORM!! The long worm kept coming out from the fish! I was so shocked and disgusted! I can't believe this happened. I called the manager and she kept denying my claim. She stated that it was impossible since all her fish is grilled..... like okay so the quality of your fish can't be bad because you grill them? She would not believe me that I found this worm from the fish! Then she said to come back and she can make me a new one? I didn't want more food from this place, I wanted a refund to which she said she couldn't give me since it was through DoorDash. To start, they provided complimentary pita bread to eat with hummus. We ordered the 1/2 chicken with lemon garlic spicy ($17.90) and the gyro plate ($17.90). The chicken was juicy, tender, and the sauce was flavorful. It wasn't super spicy as I thought even some of the sides were spicier. The gyro meat was good and I liked mixing it with the tzatziki sauce. For our sides we had the hummus, spicy hummus, cole slaw, and spicy potato salad. They were all good but my favorites were the spicy hummus and spicy potato salad. I preferred the spicy hummus over the regular hummus and the spicy potato salad was very refreshing. I have seen this place around for many years and have always noticed that it's been busy. Finally got to try it out and definitely see why people can't get enough of it. They serve Mediterranean style food but as their name says, the Chicken is the specialty. I tried their Half Chicken with the Maison Special seasoning and you get to choose two sides. I got the Maison Rice and Hummus since it already comes with Pita Bread. Just the flavor of the seasoning itself and how tender/soft the chicken was prepared made you want more.
