Okay, I've been here twice inside of a week. Stumbled upon them when I had errands in the area. I was hungry, but didn't wanna dine in. So, takeout it was. I ordered the one-pound Beef Koobideh Kabob with no rice, but extra grilled veggies and a Mediterranean salad. I also got a side of spicy hummus. When I got home, I was literally in love at first bite. The kabob was seasoned lightly. I'm thinking that just a tad more seasoning would take it to the next level. The grilled veggies were charred to perfection and the spicy hummus (with a soft pita) was on-point! Was in the area again yesterday and HAD to have this same order again. Chatted with Mgr. Luis while I was there. Everyone was friendly and service was fast. Can't wait to go back for a dine-in experience. Panini never fails. Every Panini location has been very consistent. I love how flavorful everything is without it being too salty. Also, the portions are super generous. You can buy a $20 plate for 2 people. What a steal! Service was also really great. We sat outside bc of my dog and they offered to bring her ice water. The food is always good at panini kabob grill. I cannot complain. This location was newly opened so they were still figuring out the service part of things but I think it was ok for the opening week. Hopefully things smooth out a bit because I love the location since I'm walking distance away. We also love the portions because they are huge. We shared the beef koobideh and double avocado salad. They left some decor from the previous restaurant (I think) but the orange lights are an eyesore. But I like the food which is the most important thing. read more

Food is delicious! Was so excited to finally have this in Pasadena! We happen to drive by and saw it so we stopped in a few days after their grand opening. They definitely need more servers because it takes a long time to put in order and get food and pay. But understandable since they just opened. Prices are decent. Negative stars for the service. 3-4 stars for the food. Regardless of the food, the service is so bad it's just not worth it. Table service is slow (that's the kitchen's fault). Take out service is worse! Manager is incredibly surly. Most recently I ordered take-out online and arrived when the food was supposed to be ready. Manager told me to wait. 10 minutes later the food was ready (the bag with my order was visible on the counter behind the bar) but It took 10 more minutes for them to give it to me. I asked the manager 3 times! But he was busy drinking out of his coffee mug and talking with staff from behind the counter. Finally asked someone else behind the counter who looked and realized my order was, indeed, sitting there. There is no falafel worth that kind of treatment. read more

We are regulars and love the Panini Kabob Grill in Century City, and our hopes were for a similar stellar experience at the Pasadena branch. But we were disappointed. While at the Century City branch, without fail and over dozens of visits, the food preparation and presentation is done with the utmost care and done perfectly, at the Pasadena branch the food preparation and presentation were off: -- The tofu wrap was loosely rolled and very wet. When we lifted the wrap the interior was coming apart and it dripped liquid over us. It looked messy. In comparison, the wraps at the Century City branch look beautiful, eye catching, and are wrapped tightly. -- The lentil soup was a bit thin and certainly not as hearty and delicious as what we consistently get at the Century City branch. -- The salad was over-dressed. Too much dressing. The result was that it drowned in dressing and was not light, crispy, and fresh. -- The salad appeared to be hastily thrown together. It didn't look as celebratory and beautiful as what we get at the Century City branch. -- The grilled vegetables were few. At the century city branch the grilled vegetable portion of the plate is substantial and impressive. In the Pasadena branch it was small and somehow not plated elegantly. -- The lemon slice that came with our tea was brown and old. All in all, it appears that the Pasadena branch is not as careful and attentive in its food preparation and presentation. It was a disappointment. In general, at least when attending other branches, we love PKG. read more

I think I just witnessed a crime at this restaurant and what I mean is that , wow it is a crime to overcook meat like this. It was so overcooked that the flavor absolutely left the piece of meat. We had the lamb barg and koobideh beef, both cooked to a char and so under seasoned I had to dump some salt on it, in order to salvage my meal. Please if you desire this kind of food, Glendale is worth the trip and try out Raffi's or Mini Kabob instead and do not waste your time here. read more

Food was good! The prices are higher than other places but portions are very big. Service is alright, it gets busy. It took about 15 minutes for them to bring hot sauce after requesting it. The server clicked on her own tip on the paying device and ended up giving herself as much as a meal cost us. I would get their food again but not my top choice. I was happy to see something new open up by my work. I don't usually eat out but was meeting a friend for lunch. I ordered is a Hummus Trio to start with. I personally loved the original and edamame. My friend liked the slightly spicier one. We shared a Salmon and Brie sandwich and a Chicken Spinach wrap. Both were tasty but we both agreed the Salmon Brie was a better choice. At first, my girlfriend and I walked into the restaurant, and it smelled like burnt plastic. Whatever it was, it smelled toxic, but didn't make a fuss since we could sit outside (even outside you could smell it from the open door). We were sat down outside (which was empty) by the host and waited for about 30 minutes, without menues or drinks (water). We watched new people walk in, get seated and given menues and then ordered. Same for two other couples who came after that to sit outside with us. We were completely ignored. No menues, no acknowledgement after being sat down. We waited a little longer to decide if we should leave or not since we've committed some time to waiting. After a moment later, we ended up walking away. Who knows if they even noticed that we left, lol. We then went to the restaurant El Cholo, upstairs, where we were seated and given menues, immediately. I'm writing this review because this is the second time this has happened to us. The first, we waited 40 minutes to get service and sat inside that time (the only couple inside). However we watched employees walk past us many times and some just chatting near the kitchen. It wasn't busy then and it wasn't busy now. Maybe it was a mistake that happened twice, however it was pretty frustrating. I don't know if I'll ever come back to this restaurant. This place has really good food. But man oh man, they need to hire more people. I have been there a handful of times since they opened and every single time there are not enough waiters and staff. I am not sure why an establishment like this which is trying to make an impression at its first opening days doesn't have enough people to man it. It's not going to make it at this rate. Our party of 4 arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday night. The place was about 1/3 full. We ordered the appetizer combo platter to share, and each ordered a different meat kabob entree. The portions are seriously HUGE! I had the lamb which was just ok, but the strawberry date salad and the bulgur wheat rice was really tasty! I have never been here and I was super happy that I chose this Restaurant. I believe the manager Erwin helped me out in deciding what was a good meal to choose since I have terrible heart burn . Overall the food is good and reasonably priced for the area. Salmon kabob was my favorite but all were tasty and not overcooked. It has a lot of tables and is spacious inside and they have a patio. Only thing I was disappointed in was that the hummus platters came with very small pita breads pieces. We even ordered extra pita and it wasn't enough to eat all the hummus. I usually love Panini Café, especially the Woodland Hills location, but my visit to the Pasadena location, was terrible. I have a tomato and pepper allergy and asked for the chicken kebab without them. Woodland Hills always accommodates. Pasadena refused, saying everything was "pre-done." Instead of helping, I got a ten-minute lecture about why they couldn't do it. I asked if they kept chicken aside for guests with allergies. The manager flatly said no, then told me to order a child's meal since it didn't include tomato and peppers. But adults aren't allowed to order child meals so which is it? He even said he'd call Woodland Hills to reprimand them for making it right for me in the past. I ended up ordering the something I didn't want beef kebab which was overly salty. I had to mix with my salad in my rice to tone the salt down. And their tzatziki looked yellow, and like it was made with mayonnaise. Both my friend and I got sick afterward. That one experience has put me off the Pasadena location for good, and it may have ruined Woodland Hills for me too. It's a shame when a company grows how it ruins it for the customer experience. It didn't even deserve a one star, but I had no choice to make this review. read more
