Got validated parking. The servers are so good. Checked on us. Accurate order. Timely food delivery. The vibe is the same as the other locations. Well lit, open, inviting and clean. They have out door seating but it was a little too warm for outdoors. Came to this location for the first time earlier this week for lunch. I see they have multiple locations throughout LA County. This particular one is located at the Paseo. I was surprised at how large the restaurant is and how busy it was for a week day. After reading reviews and looking at photos of their dishes, I ordered the charbroiled chicken shish kabob. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I ate every last bite. I'd hate to be a food runner here as the plates are HUGE. My friend ordered the beef koobideh. That was also very tasty! This is new in paseo but it's good location! I always go to in Glendale but in Glendale it's always busy. Food are actually good and serving are big. Same with kids menu serving is huge. I just don't like the service. Service is slow and our server is not friendly and hard to get attention and ask for assistance. When we went here we ordered kids meal and didn't give any utensils. I have to start by saying that I **love the food** I eat here often, although it's usually for takeout. That said, I'm really not a fan of the restaurant's look and decor. Everything has an orange tone to it, and while I'm guessing the redesign was meant to better match the brand, I actually think it made the space feel more outdated. Compared to how it looked as Great Maple, it no longer feels as bright, fresh, or inviting. The service has also been hit or miss. It often feels like you have to flag someone down whenever you need something. I also wonder if the space is simply too large for the restaurant. Even when it's moderately busy, both the dining room and patio still look empty, which takes away from the atmosphere. A smaller/cozier location may have been a better fit. I genuinely hope I'm wrong because I really do love the food and want the restaurant to succeed. For now, though, the overall atmosphere isn't my cup of tea, so I usually choose takeout instead. read more

I've been to some of the other locations and I loved them. But what happened to this place? I was surprised to see the low rating and after visiting once, I now know why. They do not offer any modification so if you're allergic to anything or have certain preferences, they will not take care of you. They said they prepare everything all in advance a few days before and there are no fresh ingredients in the kitchen to prepare anything except for lettuce. Such a shame because I thought everything was from scratch. Otherwise, service was just ok. No one there looked happy and was very sad to be there. Our waters weren't filled and no one checked in on us. The food was decent, nothing amazing. Everything came out warm and not hot or fresh. You are getting a big portion so quantity over quality here. Upon leaving, the waitress (Blanca P) brought over the check and tablet to pay. It allowed me to select a tip option, which I did 18% for lunch thinking it wasn't great service. There were only 4-5 other tables and plenty of staff so not like they were busy. When I walked out, I noticed they changed the tip to 20% which I'm sure I didn't select. Not sure what happened there. Overall, I won't go back and if anyone asks if I can recommend a Mediterranean place, I won't be suggesting this one. read more

Improvements are needed with customer experience. I walked inside to make a carryout order, and watched as the staff seated three groups that arrived after me without acknowledging me, even as I made eye contact two of those times. They seemed much more interested in fulfilling orders made for delivery and for seated customers. When ordering, I asked for cheese on the side and no tomatoes. I was also told they would not provide croutons, not a problem. Well, I didn't get any cheese, but I did get tomatoes and croutons, so that's three errors across two items. I saw many others have a similar experience, getting ignored by the staff. I've been ordering from Panini Kabob Grill (and their other locations) for years, but this was our first time actually dining in and it was a great experience. The food has always been delicious, but enjoying it in the restaurant made it even better since everything was hot and fresh right off the grill. Our waiter, Jose, was attentive and friendly, and the manager, Hector, stopped by a few times to check on us, which made the experience feel even more welcoming and personal. The restaurant is spacious with patio seating, making it a comfortable place to relax and enjoy your meal. We ordered the family meal for four, and as always, it did not disappoint. It comes with two salads, we chose the romaine avocado and the strawberry date salad. The strawberry date salad is so good and definitely my favorite. The romaine avocado salad is also very fresh and flavorful. The chicken and flat iron steak kabobs were juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. Have you ever dined somewhere and known it was the employees worst day at work? That is how it felt when I went to Panini Kabob Grill. We waited a very long time for a table, at least 10-15 minutes. The wait was not because the restaurant was busy, there just was not enough staff to serve the current customers, clean up the tables, and seat a new party. There were at least 4 tables covered in used napkins and dirty plates, because no one could clean them up. We were patient however because some of the customers were being rude to the staff because the wait was long even when you sat down. We ordered the sample platter, everything was fine. I wanted to order a tofu panini but I was afraid that substituting tofu for chicken would be too hectic for the kitchen staff so I ended up with a falafel wrap and a Caesars salad. I liked the croutons, they were large and tasty. The falafel was good, I didn't enjoy the mint but that's just a personal preference! While seated, I noticed two parties sending their food back because there was an error with their meal so I was pretty happy I got the falafel and didn't try the tofu. Overall, I think this place might need more staffing but the food was adequate. read more

I had a placed an order on DD for pickup an hour in advance to avoid waiting as I was on a lunch break. I understand that the restaurant can get busy unexpectedly however, when I arrived my order wasn't even prepared yet. The app even showed that the order should've been ready. The white blonde hostess was extremely rude, she made it seem as if it was my fault for even placing an order in the first place. If I hadn't insisted on her checking on the status of my order I would've been standing there all day. The location is excellent, in the Paseo and great for people watching :) They have both indoor and outdoor (dog friendly) seating and the space is big so seating is plentiful. The service is really great, as is the food. My favorites are the hummus, and the wraps. I was surprised the previous restaurant went out of business! My co-worker suggested lunch here and I didn't even know it would be Mediterranean food. I didn't feel like having Mediterranean food today so I ordered Rigatoni Rosa, add prawns. The table also shared an appetizer and I really liked falafel here. It had a kick and not as dry as I thought it would be. The ingredients are fresh and I'd like to try a wrap next time. The restaurant was full during lunch on a weekday. I hope they hire more staffs. Took a while before Panini Kabob Grill opened up at the Paseo. I think I remember signage on the other side of the Paseo (off Green vs Colorado) a while back and then all of the signage disappearing. Guess they found out that Great Maple would eventually close so that they could take over a space that formerly housed another restaurant. I have been to other Panini Kabob Grill locations (Irvine and Rancho Cucamonga) and thought the food was decent for being a chain. Had similar thoughts after eating the beef koobideh platter last week. Although I prefer the food at Raffi's over this, you really can't beat the location as this is walking distance from home. Saffron rice was just ok as it tasted a bit bland when comparing to Raffi's. No complaints about service as our server was attentive and was available when we needed anything. Hope Panini Kabob Grill does well here and also brings additional foot traffic to the Paseo and restaurants seem to be the only reason to head there these days. read more
