We came in here for breakfast while exploring Fairhope! The beignets were definitely the star of the show!!!! Amazing!! The breakfast was pretty good too and hit the spot! The service was quick and so kind! We sat outside in their little courtyard and it was perfect!

Visiting my partner's hometown, they brought me here for lunch. It was PACKED for a Tuesday at 1pm, it took about 30 minutes to get a table, the outside host (man host) seemed bored and very dismissive. Once seated, the waitress was super friendly and nice. The food took another 30 minutes to come out. The food tasted decent enough to come back, the rosemary chicken sandwich could have a little more flavor, but the Muffuletta panini was pretty flavorful.

Highly recommend. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was so beautiful and welcoming. We were really hoping to try the beignets, but they were already sold out when we arrived at 1:00. Even so, everything else we ordered was wonderful and the whole experience made it a great stop in Fairhope.

The turkey sandwich was very nicely balanced with a hint of the balsamic vinegar. The beignets were tasty, and the lemon juice was a good idea. Service is attentive and accommodating. Ambiance is pleasant in the patio, however I'd like to not see an overflowing garbage bin. Can it be moved to a corner?

We came to Panini Pete's specifically because of seeing the chef on DDD and GGG. I had high hopes for this place because I love paninis. The service is what lowers the stars from 4 to 3. The servers seemed super annoyed that we were there and wanting food. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day. One of my littles ordered the grilled chicken tenders with fries and the other the burger with fries. I tried a bite of the tenders and they were really juicy. The fries were really well seasoned and cooked. It was a bit disappointing that the ketchup came in packets, along with the other burger condiments. I got the Rosemary Chicken Panini with homemade chips and the older kids shared a grilled cheese sandwich and fries. My panini was on the drier side and the chips were slightly overdone/burnt tasting. The older girls were happy with their grilled cheese. It was a struggle getting the server's attention for water refills, but the setting was really pretty.

We had the chicken salad with the balsamic dressing for lunch and beignets for dessert. It was some of the best balsamic dressing I've had. And don't even get me started on the beignets. They were so light and fluffy and moist. If I wasn't already stuffed silly, I would have eaten 10 more!! I would travel back to Fairhope just for these! Our server was great. Very prompt, funny and friendly.

Charming, charming, charming! We sat on the patio canopied by a huge oak tree dripping with lights. There is a fountain in the middle and soft jazz playing in the background. I had the beignet breakfast sliders. Bacon and eggs sandwiched within a beignet, grilled and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Devine! Hubby had the chicken and beignets (think chicken and waffles). He cleaned his plate. Servers and staff were friendly and efficient. I would go out of my way to dine here again.

Fairhope has a reasonably quaint downtown, and Panini Pete's is located in an alleyway courtyard meant to be reminiscent of the French Quarter. PP is clean and the staff welcoming, which is why I gave it a four star rating. The French fries, Muffaletta and Roast beef paninis were good but not great. The food I'd rate as closer to 3 1/2 stars, but worth a visit if you're in the area...but not worth our returning on another 45 minute drive to get there.

Panini Pete's is a tiny slice of what New Orleans is in a perfect world. Imagine walking down an ivy-clad alley to a restaurant without the stench of the streets wafting behind you. Imagine sitting at a corner of the French Quarter, petting the neighborhood cat, with no fear of getting harassed by a shirtless guy with 400 beads and a python draped over his neck. Imagine a crunchy, fluffy beignet that's actually worth the hype that you hear from people. Imagine going to New Orleans and receiving service, period. You get the picture. Panini Pete's did a great job at making a quaint, enjoyable space that reflects the best parts of NOLA. Food was fantastic. Service was absolutely outstanding -- the waitresses were incredibly nice and truly some of the best, most kind waitresses I've had in a long time. The kitchen quits breakfast at 10:30, takes a thirty minute break, and then picks up for lunch at 11, so keep that in mind on your visit. Either way, beignets are a must-get. My turkey panini was delicious, and so was my iced Cafe Au Lait, so whether you're on the early or late side of that 30-minute window, you can't go wrong.

Their patio is worth itself a visit to this place. That fountian in the middle of the square is gorgeous to look at. All the little shops around, make it for a great atmosphere! Service is very cordial and welcoming. Food was good. Not great, but solid good. I super love the gluten free options they have on their menu! A solid 5 starts, also thanks to their sesitivity to GF needs. Great place!

This was the cutest spot in the "Alabama french quarter" and had the most light and fluffy beignets that were so good and so many options for breakfast and lunch! The steak and egg wrap was delicious and I definitely will be back for lunch!

We went to panini Pete's today Mother's Day was told to seat wherever we could find a table. We sat at a table with no umbrella and it started to rain so we got up to find another table with an umbrella and we were told they weren't serving there because of the rain so no table available so when we find a table under a roof we were told other people were there before us. Which we didn't see. So we got up and left. Your people need to learn how to seat your guest. We will not re turn ever and will be sure to tell all our friends about our terrible experience. My daughter and I will surely never forget your rudeness. read more

Ate at Panini Pete's today with my granddaughter and was very disappointed in the Turkey panini. The bread it was on was hard as a rock! I could hardly bite into the sandwich. Fresh greens were good, but give me a knife to cut them up. Stuffing them in my mouth was not attractive! The $40 lunch was taken home. Maybe I can enjoy it on better bread! read more

We stopped here on a rainy day and it was absolutely wonderful. The best panini I've ever had with their fantastic crispy thin fries. Then we tried the beignets...fantastic. The food was fast, fresh and totally reasonably priced, with a darling atmosphere nestled in the French quarter of Fairhope. The staff were super friendly as well. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I love this little sandwich shop. Whenever I'm in Fairhope, I try to hit them up for lunch. Last few visits, however, I've been unsuccessful. The lines get out of control to the point you are not sure where to stand (or if there should be numbers given to control the madness of the crowd standing around) and they start as soon as lunch is on and continue until closing time. I've never seen this at any other sammie shop in town, so I am assuming this has to do with the kitchen being too small for the masses that now come in droves to see the "Guy Fieri" reviewed panini place! All of that aside, I have tried just about every panini on the menu except for the fish ones. They are so delicious. My fave is the mozzie and tomato panini. I just love it. But they are all so very good! I've sat and had their beignets with my mom one morning but was not crazy about 'em. I really wish I could have their panini's again, I miss them - I just can't deal with the long wait that seems crazy unavoidable lately. They are not open for more than a couple hours for lunch each day (11am - 2:30pm) and I've tried to take their sammies "to go" but the taste does doesn't translate as well after being transported. I see they now have a place in Mobile, but was unaware of that my last visit through Mobile (12/26/12). Great sammies and panini's. Very tasty side dishes. Just hope you get in. p.s. Fairhope is unlike any place in Alabama or Florida. Do not be strayed by reviews that try to compare this cute town to theirs (Coconut Grove, FL? no way!). Fairhope is not easy to get to by plane, remember it's a connecting flight for most people (me) and an 18hr drive/two-day trek for others (me). This is a great shop, good food, good ambience. I will def take the time to wait in line next visit. read more

Sad to say I was not impressed with the food. The staff and ambiance were great. Being that we got there when they opened I would have expected freshness. The fries were bland and cold. The "panini" was soggy and fell completely apart. I ordered the Rosemary Chicken Panini. Not one hint of rosemary and the chicken was old. I won't go again. read more

I've heard a lot about this little place since I've moved to the area, and my grandma and I decided to give it a try for lunch one Friday. This restaurant has good food, but what really is a draw is the ambiance. The restaurant is located in the "French Quarter" by a little patio area and fountain, with a glass greenhouse with extra seating. Overall the food is good (nothing special), but if you're wanting a picturesque restaurant with decent food and affordable pricing, this is the place to go. read more

We went hearing about them on Food Network. Sadly we were not very impressed. Their turkey panini (one of the suggested ones from the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives) was one I could get at a coffee shop in LA California (my home). Nothing really special. They also had a 'special' Cajun burger with jalepenos. Again, didn't find it very good. Being from California I couldn't even taste the jalepenos they weren't hot. Overall the style was cool. They had a really neat iron atrium/type thing you eat in. To be honest that was the best part of the experience. Bummed by this being on food network, perhaps they let go after that and didn't continue to create new culinary dishes. Also they 'sold out' and put a TV in the iron atrium that only ran advertisements for the towns businesses. Bit tacky for me. read more

We come here every trip we make to the Alabama coast. As always it was wonderful. The special today was the "wild bird" turkey panini with a spicy bbq sauce, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Wonderful! Pasta salad side is excellent! Service was quick and friendly. Lunch for 2 people was under $20. Can't beat it! read more

I live in Mobile and have always wanted to eat there. I finally had an opportunity and I have to say that I have never been so disappointed. I had the House roasted and medium rare roast beef panini. The panini devoid of flavor. Absolutely the blandest roast beef I have ever tasted. Please invest in some salt! And as if that wasn't bad enough, the bread was so tough it was almost impossible to eat. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff was very polite. read more

Our friends recommended Panini Pete's to us and are we glad they did! We are originally from New Orleans and we were told they have great Beignets like those at Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter. I have to say...those were the BEST tasting Beignets we've ever eaten! They were so much better than the ones we grew up enjoying. I really didn't think we would ever find anyone that could beat Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. They even had Cafe Au Lait coffee to go with the Beignets. The atmosphere was awesome...made us feel like we were sitting in the French Quarter. read more

If we're in the area, we do not miss this place. They have absolutely THE Best beignets, and their coffee is excellent -- bold & bracing, the way coffee should be. Their outdoor seating and the glassed atrium are very pleasant. We want to try their other menu selections next time. read more

I ate at Panini Pete's on July 15 when I was in Fairhope for a conference. I got the German Shepherd hotdog with sauerkraut and the homemade potato chips. My meal was good, although the waitress was a little slow with Coke refills on a hot day. One of my companions had the turkey panini featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and said it was excellent. Another got the muffaletta panini and liked it. It really did look great. Our other companion had the chilled cantaloupe soup and said it was good, but a little goes a long way. Overall, I'd say it's fine for a lunch place and I'll definitely go back. read more

Panini Pete's is one of my favorite restaurants. I'm totally obsessed with their fries! I could eat them all day long! The location is great too. It's a little courtyard with a cute fountain, and small shops around it. While you wait for your delicious food you can shop at the few local shops that are close by in the courtyard. Also there is a little chocolate shop to get dessert at. Panini Pete's is cute, fun, yummy, and family friendly. The staff is kind, and sweet. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

This place was not my first choice although it had great reviews! I was just going to try to be healthy. The power was out in lots of the restaurants downtown so we ate here. I'm so glad that we did! No place better for a sandwich! Consider a home-made meatball panini on ciabatta with provalone and parm cheese or a panini burger with mozzarella. Panini Pete's knows that quality ingredients like fresh hand-made mozzarella make the difference. This cafe, featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, is a must if you are visiting the Gulf Coast . Keep in mind that the cafe itself is pretty small inside seating about a dozen, but outdoor seating in the courtyard and outback was comfortable. Want desert? Try the beignets! read more

Wow, can't miss this place! Great atmosphere tucked back in a little alley under some live oak trees. Food was delicious and so cheap. When was the last time you got a breakfast wrap for $5? I Highly recommend the steak breakfast wrap. The southern donut things were good too; certainly worth trying though. read more

Despite the fact I had accidentally arrived way before they opened, the staff was still more than happy to get seat me and let me hang around until the properly opened for business. I was blown away by the abundance of flavor they were able to pack into a single turkey sandwich. Not only was this due to the sauces and seasoning, but the actual turkey meat itself was very good to bring the whole thing together. For dessert I felt obligated to try the beignets which were very good (admittedly my beinget experience is limited so I don't really have much to measure it by but it was still fantastic). Panini Pete's was truly a highlight of my time in Fairhope. read more

Ate here with my parents and it was delicious. Some of my favorite food I had while visiting Fairhope and definitely want to go back. I had the tomato and mozzarella panini, which was very hot and tasty. The fries are seasoned well and so yummy! We sat outside. Luckily there is quite a bit of shade so it wasn't too hot. Friendly and fast service. Set in downtown Fairhope, one of the cutest towns I have ever visited! Fairly priced for generous portions. The roast beef panini was delicious. Homemade fries are tasty. The tuna salad with lemon dressing was just right on a hot summer day! read more

Now, I can handle just about anything from Waffle House to Another Broken Egg, but listen, quit scrolling, and head over to Julwin's Restaurant. From the coffee to the biscuit and everything in between, you can tell that those folks in the back know how to cook breakfast. My wife ordered the Western omelet, and opted for the Spinach. I know we didn't take three sips of coffee before our food came out piping hot and fresh off the griddle! The eggs were perfect as were the hash browns. I like my biscuit as dessert, and I'm happy to say I was not disappointed. Guys, we'll be back. There's no question Julian is on our must see list on our next trip to Fairhope.

It was my wife's birthday, and thus she had the privilege to choose where we would go for brunch…read more I had previously decided that I would not dine at this restaurant again, not because I had some gripe about the food, which was excellent, but because their table arrangement in the main dinning area made it difficult for wheelchair bound customers, such as myself, to navigate. This was not a hard and solid decision on my part. Instead I had decided that if I had my druthers, I would not eat there. Of course when it is my babécita's birthday my druthers were of no consideration and I found myself again at Tamara's for a Saturday brunch. We arrived to find the main dinning area to be full, and since we didn't feel like eating in the open to the outside area, we learned that we had an estimated 20-30 minutes wait for a table. Their was six to eight customers waiting around the hostess's stand inside, with another six waiting outside under a covered area. We decided to wait outside, but after about 15 minutes a rain shower began. The kind people waiting on the benches and standing under the awning encouraged us to move in further from the edge where they we were getting wet. A couple standing moved into the restaurant to make even more room for us. The hostess, seeing that it was raining outside when this couple opened the door, came to the door and invited us all in, announcing that she would make room for us all. Which she promptly did. My wife had informed the hostess of my needs, and had requested a corner table for ease of access, but once inside the restaurant, I noticed that the table arrangement seemed less crowded, which helped to ease my concerns about getting to a table. As it happened, right at the 20 minute mark, we were informed that our table was ready, and we were led to a table, not on a corner, but to a table at the end of a row of tables, and against a partition. I found this arrangement even better than our requested corner table, as it meant that I had no foot traffic behind me that I might inadvertently bump into, or bump into me. I was grateful for the evidently experienced hostess working out such a fine alternative to our request, and doing it in such a timely manner. Now I get to the food, and wait staff service. All I can say is that Tamara's management has both pegged to the highest degree. Our waiter appeared immediately, took our orders since we had perused the menu while we were waiting to be seated. As for our food, my birthday girl had the Spinach Eggs Benedict, and I had the Fried Chicken and Waffles. Both were excellent. Neither of us had a single complaint, and my wife, who is fascinated with Tamara's long list of various types of Eggs Benedicts, promised that we will be back for many more visits to try each one. I am grateful that I was forced to forego my pledge not to patronize this establishment again, as it provided an opportunity to learn how the good people at Tamara's made adjustments that allowed my experience to be enjoyed more fully. I am also grateful in that we can continue to enjoy their excellent food.

Eating in the greenhouse, in Fairhope's French Quarter, was one of the greatest surprises I've ever encountered on my worldwide travels. It was unexpected and delightful.
