Excellent lunch. Quick and friendly service. Appetizer pretzel was hot, fresh, and had a couple of dips. Pizza was tasty. Buffalo wrap had excellent flavor packed with fresh ingredients. Fries were very good. Lots of TVs and good space inside. Patio has great seating as well.

    Supposedly Mac & Cheese....

It's fine if you're eating at the resturant but it's best to check your order if you're picking up. I ordered a side of mac & cheese with my wrap and when I took it out of the bag (at home), I thought I had mistakenly been given soup. It looked like I had gotten lukewarm, soupy cheese with some uncooked elbow macaroni - it was so unappetizing.

My friend suggested this place while I was visiting in Cleveland and said that they were known for their panini sandwich. I got the turkey and thought it was an average sandwich. The bread was just white bread and I thought it would be toasted but it wasn't. The sandwich was huge though. Very filling. You got to choose between different meats. The sandwich was around ~$11. They had a nice outdoor patio and the waiter was very nice.

We were there tonight for pizza, salad and drinks. Everything came out as ordered with very little wait and our server Kaylyn was excellent.

IMPRESSIVE PLACE…read more Wow, I'm flabbergasted. I had an apartment in Willoughby in the 90s and it wasn't a bar back then. I'll tell you they're open early. I had a wonderful Smashburger for 14 with blue cheese. They open at 11 AM. It's here in downtown Willoughby the historic section. It's attached to an old train car that Marilyn and JFK rode in. Wow. It's very nice to walk in off the dining room which was the old round house for the train. This is an impressive place. I can't believe I've never been, the bartender and owner are fantastic. Owner is a big hockey fan I was talking to him about Derek Sanderson. He's from Boston. Five stars all the way I'll come here every time passing through. Just take the lost nation Road exit & your way back there.

I have to rethink that because of this very eatery. The food was good. Not blow me out of the water amazing but certainly tummy filling fare. I had the prime rib and added mushrooms, peppers and onions with a side of au jus. The meat was a bit on the drier side and a little tough. But...onion rings on the side...yes please for these sweet, savory, crispy little rings of greatness. The lettuce wedge salad and crisp, light and satisfying...it just lacked a balsamic glaze to add the need touch of sweetness. And a Spicy Cucumber Martini with a Tajin rim...all you need is one, but you'll want more! Sweet with the sour Tajin jolt was in perfect balance. It is made with jalepeno tequila which I got notes of, but it could have been a bit spicier. So, with the issues, why not a 4 star review, you may ask... It was the service. Hands down the greatest service I have ever had. Our server was at our table to greet us with menus in literal seconds. She was bright, bubbly, and sweet as apple pie. She gave suggestions, hyped the food and drinks. She was efficient and we never lacked for anything. I felt like she was just serving us even though she had a seated area, a bar area, and an outdoor seating space to take care of that was overflowing with people for the holiday weekend with a band! And the set-up of the restaurant itself was just cool, chill and playful. The barn like feel was so inviting and the outdoor option to sit could make it feel like a new place everytime you come! That's why it's a 5 star. Definitely on my visit again and soon list.

"Hook and Hoof" has been in downtown Willoughby for quite a while so they must be doing something right. And the fact that there aren't that many high level dining establishments in the Willoughby area helps. The first thing I noticed was the facility is very narrow which lends to a crowded feel. And all you need is one overly boisterous table (which was right next to us) and the noise level can be overwhelming. The server we had for the evening was very pleasant. She did a good job being timely with everything. But, it was odd that she often did not listen to an entire request (or maybe just couldn't hear) before walking away. There were a couple of requests for simple standard items that she wasn't even sure they had. I just found it odd. The food however was excellent. The kitchen staff did an exemplary job all night. I had a marvelous cocktail from the well stocked bar. And my double cut pork chop was fantastic. So full of flavor, juicy, cooked exactly as I requested. The sides that accompanied it were just tender enough without being mushy. And my banana cream pie was great. Overall, I give "Hook and Hoof" a solid 4. I definitely can see us going back. They deserve another try. You should give them a try and see for yourself.

The prices were astronomical so my daughter and I just ordered meatballs and potato wedges. I really wanted fish but there was only ONE fish dish on the menu and I didn't like how it was going to be prepared. There's a big disclaimer at the bottom of the menu that says "no substitutions or modifications". Geez, for a $40 fish plate you couldn't have modified it for me?? The meatballs were good, but came out luke warm. The wedges were good. The atmosphere was nice. For 3 meatballs, 5 potato wedges, and a 15% tip (she lost 5% due to not asking us for drinks) our bill came to $45. I *wish* I was joking. We won't be back. I honestly feel like I just got ripped off.
