    French Onion Soup

Our first time trying Hook & Hoof and we left very satisfied. For starters we ordered the French onion soup and the Caesar salad, both were very good. We really enjoyed the fried pepperoncinis and the perfect amount of cheese on the salad (a lot!). For mains we ordered the Sundays Sauce and Bubbas Burger, both we would definitely order again! The Sundays Sauce was the perfect amount of sweetness with plenty of pork mixed in and topped perfectly with burrata! The burger had a great bacon jam and extra crispy potatoes on the side! Washed it all down with a glass of wine and a cocktail. The only complaint is the restaurant is small so the noise level can get pretty loud when busy.

Scallops with garlic polenta. $45 that day.

Good food. But really overpriced. I ordered the Scallops with garlic polenta. There were 3 medium-sized scallops. Market price was $45. Ouch. I don't mind paying this price, but the scallops were the same size that I'm served at Fuji at GLM. And to tell you the truth, they didn't taste all that different.

Flavor was great. I made reservations online and my husband and I were seated immediately upon entering. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere. It felt very comfortable.

This place is so so good. The food was incredible, great service, clean atmosphere and you can watch the chefs cook which is super fun from the chefs table/bar. We probably ordered way too much food but we had no regrets at all. Recommend!

    Ravioli

Was excited to try this place out, but unfortunately the experience fell far short of worthy: The service was great, the waitress was very attentive, helpful with the menu, and prompt. Ambience was great too, very unique and cozy decor. But the food is the most important, and that's where the blunder happens: - $38: steak dinner - 10 oz NY strip, street corn and KETCHUP. Yes... You heard me.... Ketchup. You can stop reading after this... Ketchup on a beautifully cooked medium rare steak is an unforgivable act. Not to mention... When does ketchup ever go well with Elote? - 14$: Wings- great sauce tang, but dryyyy - 13$ : smoked shrimp spread - tastes like a smoked fish spread, served with Ritz crackers... Super plain. - 23$: Ravioli: the sweetest pasta sauce, I swear I was spooning up Pie strudel... Otherwise was fine. Another saving grace is the prices are quite reasonable: 38 for a steak, and cocktails ranging from 9-13$ is a nice refreshing change.

Do not recommend. Our first dining experience. We had 6:30 reservation on Friday night. Arrived half hour early fully prepared to hang out for a drink but half the restaurant was empty so they seated us. But they put us in a dark hallway by the bathrooms with lots of tables open. When we asked to move they said they were expecting other tables to fill. Willoughby has lost its dining edge with overpriced, sub par menus. Hook and hoof Charging $85 for a ribeye like they're the marble room in Cleveland. Too many great places to eat to settle for this place.

If we were not looking for this place specifically, I know we would've driven right past it! It's a standalone little building and the only markings I saw outside was a little sign that said BAR. But it was 2 o'clock on a Saturday afternoon and there were several cars in the parking lot, which is a good sign. The inside is really tiny. There's a large U-shaped bar and about six tables. We looked in the menu and opted for their famous Smashburger. It is $14 and comes with fries. It is a double patty cheeseburger. I did not want a burger that big so I opted for just one Patty. They said that was no problem, but the price was still the same. I also got onion rings, which were $3 more. The food came out really fast and you could tell it came right out of the fryer because the french fries were super hot! This place is called a dive bar, and I guess it is - but on a Saturday afternoon, the place was filled with all kinds of people. On one side of us was a family with little kids. On the other side of us was a couple in their 20s. And then the rest of the place was filled with people from every age group. I have to say that the music they play there is fabulous! But back to the food. The burger was seasoned really well! It is a smash burger, but they're still able to make it crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Our server was really good. She did not hover, but she was around to see if you need anything. Depending on the vibe that you're looking for, if you want more of a bar vibe, you should go in the evening, but we were happy to just be in a relaxed little joint with good food. They opened up another Crowley's in Painesville so we will probably have to try that one too.

The one bartender with blonde super curly hair was wearing a stripper outfit and twerking with her barely there mini skirt and easy to see thong on for all the men at the bar. Not to mention the two handfuls of shots she did with other patrons only added to her belligerent behavior. The other bartender was clearly picking up the slack but was also drinking heavily. Both were very pleasant with us but not very attentive. Food was good. Witnessed multiple people coming to the bar and waiting to be served and leaving without being helped after several minutes. The bar was not that busy and had many open seats mind you. I will mention, I put myself through school being a bartender and I know that letting loose with regulars helped build lasting friendships but I could never imagine getting that intoxicated while at work. I'm hoping that the owners of this bar aren't loosing their asses on giving away merchandise. If I was the owner, I would literally fire everyone but the cook. if you want a freak show.... This is your place to go. BTW... giving 2 stars because my food was good and beer was cold.
