Pretty busy breakfast spot, so be prepared to stand on a line. We typically don't order any more than just coffee and bagels. The scallion bagel is pretty good but my plain bagel with pounds of cream cheese was questionable. I had to wipe off slabs of cream cheese to eat it and more and more. Stopped by Pantano's Doz Bagels in Freeport for breakfast and had a great experience. They have so many different types of bagels, and my absolute favorite is their flat bagels. Perfect for a girl on a diet... or at least pretending to be. They're so good and always hit the spot. The employees were really nice and quick today. I've been here before when it's packed and the wait can take a while, but luckily that wasn't the case this time. Parking in the area can be a hit or miss, but it's worth it once you're inside. I love the cozy vibe and everything they offer. From the huge variety of bagels, to all the different cream cheese spreads, muffins, and breakfast options. Both of my sandwiches came with a carton of orange juice, which was a cute touch. The only thing I will say is my sandwich wasn't too filling. In my experience, other bodegas use more eggs and turkey bacon, so this one felt a little lighter than I expected. Overall, still a solid breakfast spot and one of my favorites in the area. Pantanos!! This is the spot for bagels in the nearby area. Their options include bagel varieties with Oreo, Doritos, french toast, pizza and bacon egg and cheese. And yeahs just the bagel and doesn't include what you can put inside! The pictures show you they have everything you need- pastries, breads, spreads and salads. The line is always line but don't let it deter you! They work with Too Good To Go to help reduce food waste. And when my brother ordered bagels to bring back to his military base, they gave him 36 bagels and made him pay for 12. This is a good local spot that deserves your business! read more

How can you not love the experience you get at Pantano's Doz Bagels in Freeport? I mean, as soon as you walk through the door and get to the counter, you are greeted with a friendly smile and the aroma of delicious bagels. This past weekend I picked up a dozen bagels, 2 half pound containers of various cream cheeses and a large box of coffee, all for about $60 or so. They put the perfect variety of bagels in the back... we're talkin' several everything bagels, egg bagels, sesame, poppy and of course, plain. If you want to be the talk of a party or even a meeting, walk in with a dozen warm bagels from Patano's. Heck, consider doing that for a job interview.. I'd hire you lol. read more

First off, this parking lot is horrible. Be prepared. Super nice interior. The place is quite popular for a reason. Tons of bagel and breakfast options. Creative flavored coffees, muffins, cookies, you name it. They are stocked well for 10:30 on a Sat AM. We ordered up 3 simple breakfast sandwiches and for some reason, our order sat in the online ordering row of bags. We waited about 15 minutes and if you know LI and delicatessens, that is never the case. It took some time for the person who took our order to finally notice people ordering after us were getting their food before us. When we finally made eye contact I had to ask where our food was and he tried to say they called my name but we were standing right in front of them the entire time and the orders being prepared on the spot were handed off in a different area, so just own up to the error. I have visited this location on three separate occasions and unfortunately every single time was a bad experience. My first experience I ordered a bagel and it was completely burned to the point I could not eat it. My second visit my food was ok I had to emphasize on not burning my food several times. My boyfriend asked for bacon on his bagel he didn't eat it right away. When he did go to eat it the sandwich did not have bacon on it. It was literally just a fried hard egg, honestly these mistakes are just carelessness. I checked the reciept there was bacon on the order so I decided to call. I ended up speaking to the owner/manager who gave me a $10 credit. Initially he was kind and apologetic over the phone but once my third issue came about he was dismissive and ignored me as I asked questions. I called in an order and they messed it up which happens every time I order as we already established. He proceeded to tell me that they have some odd numbers of orders in this day but mine was the only one to get messed up. LUCKY ME! The cashier who also took the order had an attitude she literally needs to be trained on how to deal with customers because she kept assuming we wanted one thing or another not asking questions. She said to me "everyone makes mistakes" I responded "yes but not three times". I called the location a few days later asked a question and the person had an attitude and when I said ok. I have to revoke my earlier review where I was trying to cut these guys a break cause they're new.... They're not so new anymore, and yesterday (Sunday morning) they gave me a grilled cheese that was like a rubber sponge. I keep going over and over it in my mind: how can a grilled cheese come out like a rubber sponge? If it came off the grill the edges would have to be a little crispy, the outside of the bread a little crunchy. It was browned on both sides, but the whole thing was one big sponge. The cheese wasn't melty/runny, it was just warm. Then I realized it was exactly how it would turn out if you let a grilled cheese sandwich go cold and then microwaved the sandwich back hot again. Possibly the next day.... So wtf did they serve me? -- and when was it cooked?? Just gross. Really really gross. read more

Food here is great all times of the day! I've been for breakfast and my favorite is there ham egg and cheese on a plain wrap with peppers onions and spinach topped with some hot sauce. Omggg delicious! I've also ordered their chicken cutlet hero's for a day at the beach. Perfection! Service is great, they're so friendly!! All of them, not just one. But all staff- way to go guys! And I love the setup, always busy - but again- staff knows how to get people going quick. Their ordering line is efficient. the place has potential but lack in customer service skills. i'm new in town, thought i'd found a place that reminds me of home, so i brought my mom with me to try. my mom had just finished placing her order and i was next. thinking it was the perfect time to ask a question about an item on the menu, seeing as though i was next, i was rudely assured that my question needed to wait because he had not finished typing on the screen.... ordering a smoothie is not an easy task, it's almost like i'm speaking another language every time. so i usually just go else where. i'm not understanding why smoothies can't be customized to the paying customers liking.... after my order was placed the guy told me to stand to the side to wait, instead i walked to the seats where my mother was seated and he yelled to me that i needed to stand by the counter to get my food. i explained to him that i was aware my name would be called and that i would hear it because i was still in the building... not sure if he thought i'd go deaf if i moved a few feet away.... they finally got to the part of calling our names for the food and omg!!!! they give you no chance to even respond. it's just a constant calling of the name like you have to grab your food within the second they say your name. it's way too much going on. gives me anxiety. read more

I very rarely write a bad review but I live local and like to support local businesses but I have to say the women who work behind the counter are rude and do not listen to your order nor do they say thank you after you give them $55 dollars for cream cheese a dozen bagel and few drinks! It's not the first time this has happened. The women are too busy gossiping to themselves rather than being attentive to the paying customer! Seeing as the old spot (Maninno's) was my favorite deli, I really wanted to like this place... but I can't. The decor and branding is really cool, the menu is fun, and there are some genuinely really nice people behind the counter, but that's where my praise stops. More expensive, longer wait times, and out of my 4 visits so far, my order has been incorrect 3 times. Even when correct, the food was average at best, to put it nicely. Pantano's has fed my family for years and they always have the most tasty and creative menu selection you just can't find in any other deli. They use the finest quality cheeses and meats and don't cheap put to save a buck. Anytime they open a place in the neighborhood, its sure to be an upgrade from what was there. Bagels are fresh, crispy on the outside, and fluffy and soft on the inside. My wife loves the Acai bowls. If you're complaining about price, its not expensive at all unless you are used to eating at some joint that serves crappy ingredients. Now on to the real reason for this review. The men that are behind the counter are creepy as hell (Not the old Mannino's crew). Someone needs to explain to their employees that you don't leer at women like you never saw one before when they walk in the door.
