I've driven by here and It's always crowded and I had the chance to eat here after the lunch rush. My Mom anc I both shared a Cheeseburger and a Fried Chicken Sandwich. Both came with Kettle Chips. I paid extra $2 dollars and got fries with the burger. They were both delicious. My half of the Chicken sandwich was delicious. The chicken was buttered and fried to perfection. Crunchy but light ag the San Francisco time. The Brioche bun was one of the best I ever had. It was devine. Toasted perfectly , yet so soft and chewy. Just perfect. My half of thd cheeseburger was cooked mediumlike I asked. Very tasty , full of beef flavor like a burger should taste like. Not tough at all. Just a great burger. Haven't had one this nice in a long time. And thf Brioche bun was again, perfectly toasted and so yummy chewy delicious. Fries were a small cut, perfectly seasoned and we both cleaned our baskets til nothing left . Service was great. Our server was sweet. The owner there was nice and attentive. We Did'nt get to try out their Peanut butter pie as we were both full from lunch. They told us they fry their Fried Chicken with that secret batter also. This place was popping today! We came when they were on a wait, but we didn't mind. There was only one waitress working, but she was working very hard. She gave us drinks and menus outside since there were no tables inside. Eventually we moved inside. My breakfast sandwich was delicious! Hubby ate every bite of sausage and gravy. One thing I would be aware of, is it is posted online that they stop serving breakfast at 10:30. The owner closed around 10 on this day, and some people didn't get to eat here. read more

Sunday we had arranged a family breakfast and we were meeting at Panthertown Cafe. It used to be a favorite... On the way a car went into auxiliary mode so we were delayed meeting with our sons. one of the female servers told us we could not stand inside to talk to our sons who were seated and that we would have to wait outside until another table was free. Our sons were worried as there is no phone signal around the area so had to tell them we were ok. The female server continued to be exceptionally rude to the whole party. We did not get her name but a rounded individual, middle aged, light brown hair cut into a bob shape. You spoiled an already stressful situation and a little empathy could have gone a long way! Great gem in the toxaway area. Fried chicken usually sells out by lunch (and it is my husband's FAVORITE). Usually gets crowded but service is prompt and food is great! I do appreciate that if you are waiting for a table, the owner will let other diners linger for a minute after they finish, but then politely ask them to move on so that the people waiting can eat. read more

We stopped into the Panther Cafe for a late lunch today. It was absolutely delicious. I chose the BLT with fries. It was the perfect southern bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. The bread was toasted to perfection, the bacon was crispy, the veggies were fresh, and it was topped off with just the right amount of Duke's mayonnaise! My fries were hot and crispy. The little restaurant is quaint - made of large logs, with a vaulted ceiling, and gorgeous hardwood floors. The seating area is an eclectic blend of mismatched farmhouse tables. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and efficient. If you're looking for casual food done well, this is the perfect little restaurant. read more

Such a great place! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The owner is fantastic! Extremely friendly and warm. We had a great conversation and it made the meal even more enjoyable. Having been a chef for many years (the owner), it is no surprise that the food is so great! We missed our opportunity to stop in last time we passed through, and were extremely pleased that we went. Those collards blew my mind. Tried the bbq sauce by Sean...so amazing!! Cheeseburger w/ fries was basic but above average said hubby. We split a slice of PB pie. We always visit the Cashiers area every year, but have never managed to stop by this charming eatery until today. Our dining experience was in a word, sublime. Callie greeted us and invited us to sit wherever we would like. A fellow customer recommended the chicken and mushroom soup. The soup was out of the world incredible! Rich flavors and chicken combined in a creamy base just delighted my tastebuds!! I ordered the club sandwich and I was thrilled to see a REAL club consisting of huge layers of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, meats, and thick slices of bacon. Highly recommend Panthertown Cafe! It's a very welcoming locals restaurant! We went after our llama hiking experience at Earthshine lodge and we had delicious Cesar salads with shrimp and the loaded tater tots which were delicious!!! They had fresh cut tomatoes, scallions and jalapeño and it was AMAZING! We had fresh coffee and lemonade that was delicious too! Perfect place to visit after doing early morning hikes in the area! You know it's a great fresh place because they open for breakfast and close at 2:30pm, just after lunch hour. Highly recommend! We will visit again!!! read more

Rustic cafe on the side of Hwy 64. We stopped by for a quick breakfast on the way to Brevard. We arrived at 10:27 and found out They stop serving breakfast at 10:30. They were very gracious to seat our large party at the last minute. Breakfast came out of the kitchen fast and it was delicious. A+ if you are looking for simple tasty country breakfast. read more

Great service and the food was out super fast! The orange juice was freshly squeezed, at least it tasted like it. We got the eggs Benedict and the biscuits and gravy. The eggs benny was pretty good, except the egg white was mostly clear on the inside. The biscuits and gravy was not good. This is a cute little cafe on a back road. We were driving to Brevard to try and see the white squirrels and just happened to see it as we were driving past. I yelped it and saw all the great reviews so we decided to stop. The food options are what I would call a slightly less greasy spoon. The food is great. I've always had a sandwich but there are many other items on the menu. The cheese burgers are excellent as well as the Reuben.
