This is the place for BUFFALO wings in Seminole County.. I have not tried the Garlic Parm or Lemmon Pepper wings but most of the bad reviews on here have those flavors listed so I will probably never try those flavors.. The Buffalo wings are spot on.. This wing place is a well loved institution in the Central Florida area. Ordered the mild buffalo garlic and the garlic Parmesan wings here very recently. The restaurant is sort of a sports bar/pub style on the inside with a bar area for extra seating. Honestly, it looked a little busy and like they had some post big crowd pick up to do. That's a good sign though, it's obviously a busy place. The wings were pretty good. Felt like I should have asked for crispy or extra crispy as the meat seemed very soft and lacked any crunch to the skin. The skin was a bit rubbery because of the way it was cooked. That's my fault for not asking that they be cooked crispy, so know that before you order. Overall I wanted to love the wings, but they were swimming in oil, not really sauce, but a clear garlic flavored oil that was overwhelming in quantity. To find a place that has LEGIT buffalo wings like Papa Bees is a blessing in a city that has no clue how to make a true buffalo wing. First off, I will tell you that before you come here, plan to get here early. If you come during rush hour (between 5:30-8 or so) expect to wait 30 or so minutes for the wings. I was super excited to try this restaurant as it had raving reviews, and I was craving wings. I wanted to try a local place and give back to the community instead of going to a chain. It was super busy, especially for a Saturday evening and it smelled fantastic inside. Due to COVID and the capacity of people, we decided to do takeout. The servers and hostesses were super attentive and the food came out quickly - you can tell that they were on the ball, from an operations perspective. However, once we got home and dove into the food, I was vastly disappointed. We ordered 30 wings (3 flavors - Garlic Parm, Chipotle BBQ, & Medium Garlic), fries for him, zucchini fries for me. The fries were exactly like Steak n Steak - thin and small, no flavorings or seasonings. The zucchini fries were over cooked, deeply fried to the point they were dark brown, like bad onion rings. Garlic Parm had no flavor. It was actually inedible, they had to be thrown away. It tasted worse than regular unflavored chicken. It was soaked in oil. Medium Garlic sauce was thin and had little to no flavor or spice. Just horrible. Chipotle BBQ was saved by BBQ sauce, but wasn't great at all. Even the celery and carrots were slimy, and had to be run under cold water to be edible. I spent $45 for the worst meal I've probably ever had at a wing house. I'm only leaving this review because they had great reviews and it was completely misleading. I wouldn't be surprised if they paid for those reviews. I'm super disappointed. Both styles of shrimp were crispy & a nice size. The coconut shrimp was unanimously our favorite. The buffalo shrimp was good too & you can choose between mild, medium & hot sauces. The fries & wings came out next. We ordered a small fry & it definitely was more than enough to feed all 3 of us. I found the cheddar sauce was a bit much & will definitely get them plain next time. Although the bacon was actual strips of bacon & not just some crumbles. The wings were crispy just like we specified. The wings were big & meaty so the fact that they got them crispy was a plus. My favorite was the honey garlic flavor. I seriously was considering licking the remaining sauce out of the basket! They have a lot of variety on the menu besides wings & appetizers. Heard about this place from some of the locals, was told that they're best wings in town. Let me say that this papa bees didn't disappoint. Good thing that there's parking in the back because I know this place gets slammed. We ordered their fries (which is always curly) medium sized. For a medium portion of fries, we got a huge portion. You are also able to cover them with cheese, bacon, and chili all together or individually. The fries were great alone if you ask me, I'd like to add the extra additions next time I come back. We ordered 50 wings and they can be mixed and matched, which I think is a brilliant idea due to the amount of flavors available for the wings. The wings can be cooked to a requested preference (regular, soft, crispy, and X-crispy). Our wings were regular and were fresh out of the fryer. The wings were amazing and set my taste buds on a crazy liftoff! This would be a great place to watch any daily sporting event, due to the amount of TV's everywhere, but due to the size of the place it can get packed pretty quick. Finally stopped in to Pappa Bees with a few of my neighbors who swear by their wings. I ended up getting their buffalo chicken salad and we all split some wings. I've visited Papa Bees three times now and am convinced they have some of the best wings in town. For my latest visit, my group and I popped in and ordered take-out before heading over to Hourglass, which is conveniently two doors down. The ordering process on a Saturday night during peak hours was pretty smooth. We waited maybe a minute or two at the bar before a waitress came and took our order. They told us to be back in 25 minutes and, lo and behold, they were ready when I returned to pick them up. I ordered 10 crispy Nuke Garlic Parmesan wings and they were fire. I'm a fan of spicy foods and I find that most wing places don't deliver the "hot" with their hot wings. Papa Bees is the spot if you want a runny nose, red face, and beet red lips with your order of wings. The sauce was very intense and had great garlic (huge chunks!) and parmesan flavor. I'm glad I mixed flavors because, by itself, I think Nuke would be unenjoyable. I also got to try a few hot honey garlic wings that were excellent. Major props for the bleu cheese, which was the real MVP of the meal. I can't find anything on the website or in other reviews/write-ups but I have been told that they cut it with cream cheese to make it a little creamier. It's heavenly. If I'm in the area, Papa Bees has become my go-to for satisfying my wing cravings. I really can't recommend them enough. read more
