I'm a big fan of this Papa Gios! Have been for several years. It's located in a shopping plaza that I don't frequent all that often and I don't drive past it often either, so it sometimes falls into the "out of sight, out of mind" category. We've been here more recently though so it's getting to be a regular consideration when we want some quick, casual Italian. We've had some really delicious pastas, their garlic sticks are amazing, they've got delicious appetizers, and of course the pizzas are excellent. They always have assorted Italian cookies and desserts but I'm usually way too full for dessert by the time we are done. The only less than stellar dish I've had their recently was the veal & eggplant parmigiana. While it looked incredible, the eggplant was so tough and leathery I could barely cut through it. I had to ask for a steak knife, but ended up just not eating it. But one bad dish after every other meal being delicious is something I can overlook. I'll stick to the pizzas and pastas and skip any eggplant. Definitely give them a try and enjoy the great service and food.

Papa Gio's Sampler - Onion Rings, best cream cheese poppers ever, cheese sticks, zucchini sticks, and garlic knots. All were great

This was plan B after another place didn't have Dine In service, and wow, what a winner. I think we ate here once before many moons ago and may need to add this to the regular rotation. Service was absolutely amazing with drink refills and making sure we had everything we need. She was a superstar for sure. A big #ThankYouThursday2021 for her and the rest of the staff. I opted for the Fried Sampler platter and everything was cooked to perfection. The Cream Cheese Jalapeño Poppers were the best I've ever had, even though I prefer the cheddar ones. Everything else was good too. Yum! FYI: This is the one in the plaza around the corner from tractor supply company, not the one in Avalon Park.

This is how I received onion rings from Papa Gios- On E colonial. Uhm... this is terrible!

Ugh! I decided I'd give East Papa Gios in East Orlando one last chance; FAILED. The margherita pizza was AWFUL. Zero flavor, hardly any cheese, the Roma tomatoes used tasted down right disgusting, and the seasons were slim. What is going on Gios I mean come on??? What happened to grande cheese and "only the best products?" That was it. Never again will I order from Gios. So sad how badly Gios has declined over the last several years.

That's not cheese, that's the doughy gnocchi.

Let me start with the positives, the staff is super friendly and pleasant. The inside was clean and the decor was Italian. The food, not so good. This was my third attempt and I tried the Gnocchi, I know, my expectations weren't high to begin with. But wow, nasty overcooked chewy play dough with the grossest meat sauce I've ever had. All of it tasted like a starchy wad. So bummed. We tried, won't be ordering from here again. I gave it one star because it would not let me give zero stars.

We always order pizza and garlic knots from Papa Gios when we are in Orlando. They do get busy but totally worth the wait.

We highly recommend the Mediterranean Pizza. The other Italian dishes are tasty but the pizza is what keeps us coming back.

It's doing that thing where you eat the crust and don't even remember deciding to. Chicken parm and chicken marsala are both savory, perfectly executed, the kind of dishes that make you go quiet mid-bite. Desserts and cakes, chef's kiss, yum across the board. Pasta is properly al dente and the sauces are clearly the main character here, they know exactly what they're doing. Now, real talk: the carpaccio and calamari are best experienced live and in person. Skip the takeout on those two specifically, they need to be fresh off the pass, not riding in a to-go bag losing their magic along the way. Service is consistently friendly and welcoming, and the whole place gives cozy family-restaurant energy, the kind of spot where you feel like a regular by your second visit. Basically: dine in, order everything, thank me later.

This restaurant can stand on their own with their standards. Where they stand out is with their specials. The chef here is always innovating and trying some new dishes. I wish I could get a notification of what's on the menu each night. I've had some amazing surprises with the taste and presentation of these dishes. And when they have wedding soup (Christmas time), I definitely make sure I go. I feel like part of the family when I go here. They always recognize us and some of the staff even resembles member of my extended Italian family. They cook better than my Italian grandma (shhhh, don't tell her). They also just opened a sister restaurant (Amalfi) down the block so they're taking over Avalon Park! I've been here a lot and plan on going a lot more. Some of the best Italian food in Orlando! This was my first time at Tratto and I already have made plans to return. My plans include trying another new-to-me pizza combination but no promises. I might get the pesto and mortadella on repeat for the foreseeable future. The pizzas can be ordered in Thin crust or Detroit style. I ordered my pizza as thin crust which was exceptional and my dining partner ordered a Detroit style with pepperoni and thoroughly enjoyed it. We both had enough leftovers to take home for another meal. This restaurant accepts reservations. The service was attentive and efficient. The restaurant interior ambiance was elegant and modern - Dim and comfortable on a hot and way too sunny day. As for seating, There are 2 outside cafe-style tables but this establishment is mainly an interior dining restaurant. I'm usually not a ratatouille girl at all, but THIS one? Whew. The burrata on top took it to another level--creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced. I'd go back just for that alone. Now...the Detroit-style pizza?? Where has this been all my life? We got the Spicy Pepperoni and I'm still thinking about it. The combo of crispy edges, fluffy crust, hot honey, and goat cheese was unreal. At this point, I feel like I need to book a trip to Detroit just to compare lol. We also tried the cheese wheel pasta--flavor-wise it was just okay for me, but the tableside presentation was definitely the highlight. It's one of those dishes you order more for the experience than the taste. Paired everything with a bottle of prosecco, which made the whole night feel a little extra and very much needed. And shoutout to Zack--he was a great waiter. Attentive, friendly, and really helped make the experience smooth from start to finish. Overall, great vibes, solid food, and a fun dining experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to--especially for that pizza and burrata situation.
