I've walked past Seoul Meat Co (and smelled it) many times while in the Totem Lake area, and I finally got the opportunity to try it out! My family and I came for an early Father's Day dinner, and our wait didn't take very long. My family and I opted for the normal dinner set, which was priced at $51. This is definitely on the pricier end for meals, but it comes with a huge variety of meat and sides that you normally can't get at other korean bbq restaurants. I'm a pretty simple guy, so my favorites were definitely the beef brisket, short rib, and spicy pork belly. These meats were well-marinated, with a delicious flavor that we kept reordering! I definitely wanted to try the other meats, like the green tea pork belly or marinated pineapple steak, but those initial meats were just too good. They had many different sides as well - I loved having corn cheese slowly cooking on the grill so we could dip the meat into it. Their cucumber kimchi and steamed egg were highlights as well. I do however wish they had more variety of banchan like other kbbq restaurants (potato salad, fish cake, braised potato, etc), but the ones they had were good. There were a few sides I would skip out on in the future; the tofu soup was a bit bland in my opinion, and the fried chicken, dumpings, and japchae were overall fine. Solid AYCE KBBQ. Service was great and attentive and the restaurant equipment was very well maintained. Ample pork and beef options along with squid and shrimp but not many vegetables or sauces with the exception of the mild chili sauce and what looked like a sesame oil and powder for seasoning that were brought to our table. I had hoped for others like vinegar or ginger or scallion soy dipping sauces for flavor. Pre-marinated meat options helped but for our taste, the plain options could have used more. We did appreciate that there were a couple of other non BBQ sides you could order like fried chicken and tofu soup but they were extra $ so for the two of us relatively light eaters, the whole bill was not great value for just a regular night out and best saved for something special. Had to flag down some waiters but they were understandably busy manning all the tables. We asked for pineapples on the side to grill and they were very accommodating. This place is great for AYCE kbbq! They have a vast menu with a ton of items, so you can try a bunch of things. I would stick with the pork and beef, and some of the sides. We came without a reservation and only had to wait around 15 minutes for a table, which was really convenient. Generally decent KBBQ in totem lake, probably the best AYCE (only?) in the area. Pricey, though, so I won't go often, but it's definitely worth bringing other people to. You also cannot dine as a party of 1 here - minimum two people! I've been to Seoul meat 3 times now - once with just the missus and I (a mistake, too few people), and the other two times with one other person (three total - good amount, could use more). The most recent time was a rainy Thursday evening, when I hadn't eaten all day, and was famished. For $51/person (for the cheaper option), it's pretty good, but the ribeye steak option is meh since the marinated rib fingers are goated. It's AYCE, except for ribeye which is one order per person. Two hours max (we barely lasted 75 minutes), but unless its a weekend or they're super slow, you should be in and out pretty fast. Service is very quick, prompt, and polite. They changed our grill three times in our most recent visit. It wasn't busy when we arrived and they sat us immediately. The wait staff will check in with you periodically - sometimes it'll feel overbearing but I prefer that to the opposite end of the spectrum where they literally have to be flagged down every time (which sometimes happened in our first two visits because it was more busy). Ambiance is a kpop track - I think there's also music videos? I dunno, I'm not paying attention to that aspect - you come here for the AYCE food. Try the octopus, marinated beef brisket, marinated rib finger, short ribs, and steamed egg. You won't regret it. Also: parking is in the general totem lake plaza. This place had a rocky start when it opened (and a rocky, delayed road to opening), but now that it's been here for over a year, it's a decent place. They've tuned some things and made improvements, and that's good. THE GOOD The food is great. The incredible variety of meats and side dishes was fantastic, and the quality was top-notch. All very good. They have overhead venting (that's the dark shadow you see in every grill photo on this listing), and it works very well. They aldo change out the grill grate for you as you cook, which is a particularly nice touch. Temp was just right, and they provide plenty of utensils. THE BAD The place is louder than it needs to be, mainly because the music is blasting at too great a volume in this kind of space. The space is pretty in an industrial, concrete, and metal kind of way. Seating is comfortable--with one big exception. If you sit along the wall, all is good. If you sit in the middle, you will be C-O-L-D in the winter. They leave the back door fully open, creating a wind through the restaurant. A cold and fairly strong wind. Ask them to close the door (because everyone at your table is wearing coats and is still uncomfortably cold), and they will begrudgingly comply. But the door will get propped back open (not fully), which still creates a cold wind, just not the hurricane-force wind from before. This is unacceptable in a restaurant like this. I get that the kitchen gets hot, but that's expected. Don't punish your guests for it. The service to get seated is not great. No reservations. Understaffed. A wait for a table when there does not need to be a wait. During mealtime, the service improved markedly and was great, but getting to the point of ordering was not pleasant. Great after that. That low health department score (only Okay). Ugh. It's been that way since they opened. They really need to address that and improve their score. This issue kept us away for a long time, and it's definitely a yellow flag that needs to be cleared by the management. Loved this place overall, and we will return. Pretty decent AYCE KBBQ place but I probably wouldn't drive up to totem lake for it again. Traffic on Friday is terrible. However definitely worth it if you work or live in the area. They do have lots of rules because apparently humans suck ( 3 meats at a time, order every 15 mins, 2 hour max time), but we didn't have a problem with it. My 2.5 year old was free! I decided to do the middle option of the AYCE. It gave a really good selection of meats as well as sides. It was super clean inside and easy to find parking in the garages. I would definitely come back and it's one of my favorite spots on the east side for sure for KBBQ. Sanitation: very clean (5/5) Staff: (5/5) Meats (5/5) I loved all the selection and cuts of the meat that were offered. The beef belly was our personal favorite. The pork options were good as well especially the jowl, it tasted pretty fresh and nothing was bad. The marinted meats kind of had a little bit of sauce sprinkled on. We also tried the matcha pork belly which was very interesting but it was a pork belly slab just coated in some matcha powder making it very earthy. I came here on a Saturday around 5pm for dinner with my group of 7 and our wait time ended up being about an hour. With this being said, it's best to come early here since there's always a ton of people waiting to eat here on a weekend. Thankfully, you can put your name on a waitlist and wait for a text saying your table's ready, all while walking around the Totem Lake area where you can check out Cinemark, Trader Joe's and other places around the area. To get here, parking in the parking garages nearby is suggested. It's bustling like hell here with tons of noise from patrons, servers walking back and forth around the area, and K-pop music blasting from the speakers and on TV sets around the restaurant. There's a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, where outdoor seating has some heat lamps. Regardless, be prepared to smell like grilled meat by the time you're done here. Service was very rushed among many of the servers we asked for certain utensils like extra plates, water and napkins. One server also accidentally knocked over my chopsticks, and it took a little while to flag down another server to ask for a new pair and - at one point - even a plate for sharing. Our food was still solid though, especially with the meats we got from their all-day premium deal. My favorites were the marinated pineapple steak and the top blade steak, and my table - which was mostly split between a 3- and 4-person group but still together - got those two meats multiple times. My friend and I decided get KBBQ and she said this was her go-to. I decided to invite some friends and they were all raving about it, so I was intrigued. I had no idea this place existed and I often came to this area for other things. This restaurant is kind of hidden but not. You can easily miss it if you aren't paying attention. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Sunday and only half the place was full. The place seemed newer and more modern for most KBBQ restaurants I've been to. This place was very minimalistic and vibes were more fitting for people in their 20-30s. We were seated fairly quickly and served almost immediately. Not long after we started eating, they were SLAMMED. All the seats were taken up and there was a huge line out the door. It looked like people were lined up for a club. We showed up at the PERFECT time. Surprisingly, the service did not slow down at all! If anything, I felt like the servers picked up the pace! I was thoroughly impressed with the service. The food was good! They had the largest variety of pork belly I've ever seen. Definitely heaven for pork belly lovers. And the cuts were thick, scored, and wrapped beautifully when they bring it to you. I was so hungry that I forgot to take a picture of it. Everything else was pretty standard. The brisket, beef belly, and kalbi were good but nothing stood out. The pork belly was definitely the star, but the thing that was missing was ssamjang. The banchan was solid. I really enjoyed the kimchi and the pickled daikon. One thing I'd note is that the servings were small. I normally would complain about that, but the service was so quick that it didn't matter. This is my go-to spot for KBBQ as a Korean--and it seems like most of the other Koreans in the area agree. If you're craving KBBQ, this place delivers. A great Korean Bbq Restaurant right in Kirkland, WA! I came here with two of my friends for their AYCE, which is around $45 per person. With each round, we got to choose three choices of meat and as many side dishes. My favorite meat that is not only interesting and good was the Green Tea Pork Belly. The Pork Belly masked the bitterness of the Green Tea well and wasn't bad tasting. It was great quality meat too! Most of the sides dishes were good except the corn cheese. Now you must be thinking? How can you mess up corn cheese? To me and my friends it was prevalent the corn was canned corn that they did not drain the water from so the corn cheese ended up being mostly water instead of cheese. It was not good. When I go to KBBQ I expect good corn cheese ended up getting watered down mush with cheese on top. Their corn cheese is something they should fix for future reference. Other than that, service was pretty great. They were pretty attentive in refilling our water bottle and coming to us after we've finished a round. If you looking to come here be aware it is busy and quite noisy so it would be hard to have decent conversation with a group without yelling over the table. Four of our family went to Seoul Meat Co for dinner as we love the cook your food type places and this one has great Yelp reviews. Bonus is that it is pretty close to us. We feared long lines per prior reviews but as this was on a Monday, there was no line. As we had dinner, there was a constant stream of customers so it is a popular place. We each had the "All Day $48" selection for our dinners. The server went over the rules with us and they were listed on the menu as well. The main one being only 3 meats at a time at the table and no leftovers can be taken away. If you leave leftover meat they charge you $25. There is also a 2 hour limit to your dining. The service throughout our meal was very good as they checked up on us often and were quick to bring new meat and seafood we ordered. They could use more napkins and cooking utensils as we were messy eaters and didn't want to mix the raw food tongs with the cooked food tongs. That was a bit confusing to us. The scissors worked well though. The food choices are a lot, focusing on...... you guessed it, Meat! There are also some Poultry and Seafood options as well. The side dishes number 24 items which are single serving size and are included in the All Day $48 price. It's fun to cook your own meat and the industrial strength fans at each table do the job well. Not noisy and no real lingering cooked meat odors. We began with the "one per table" ribeye steak and went on from there. We tried many things with the Pork Belly and the Bulgogi Beef being my favorites. The Marinated Pineapple Steak was a unique offering as well and some in our party really liked that. We also made sure not to fill up too much on the sides so we could try more of the main featured cooking items. I think that some of the sides could be better and the cabbage kimchi was a little too sour for my taste, but it wasn't anything that impacted the meal too much for me. I really liked the cucumber kimchi and the radish wraps. The service was very quick. The wait staff were very friendly and patient. They brought the meat out very quickly after we placed an order. Everything we tried was delicious! The top blade steak literally melts in your mouth, and the rib fingers and pork belly were perfect (leave the pork belly on a bit longer for that extra crisp!). We went with the $48 per person option to enjoy the ribeye, but you can also upgrade to $55 for wagyu if you want to go all out. The sides were amazing too! cheesy corn and steamed eggs were a must! Brandon was excellent in helping me make food selections based on my preferences of more tender meat, fattier cuts, and the food was brought out sooooo fast. I loved how quickly they move platters out of the way and they replaced our grill 3x during our 1.5 hr lunch. I think their $37 ayce lunch menu is perfect. I don't need the $50 ayce lunch option. No reservations so arrive when they open before noon during the week. In the wi there the patio is closed, and they use it for storage. Not the best look, but oh well. The place is clean inside and I return here as often as I can with family or friends. Dinner is slammed so prepare to wait. Brandon continues to be helpful every time I visit and even helped me not burn my food and took over a bit while he educated me on grilling the different cuts. I will be back! read more

I probably reached my meat intake for the week after having dinner here, but at least that's one way to know you're doing AYCE KBBQ right! Three of us arrived at 5:00P on a Saturday and got seated surprisingly quickly at one of the last two available tables. Dinner appeared to be in full swing, so I considered us lucky that we didn't incur a wait. There are two menus to choose from, one being $48/person and the other being $55/person. The only difference is that the $55 menu includes one serving of Asado per person, but that wasn't enticing enough for us to pay $7 extra. The $48 menu has a wide selection of meats including various options of beef, pork, chicken and seafood. They also have a variety of sides, with a few of them being pretty substantial such as Korean beef soup, fried chicken, and steamed egg. You can order up to three meats at a time (there is a fee for leftover meat) and every person is allowed one order of the ribeye steak. While the ribeye was delicious and had great marbling, it is thicker and takes the most time to cook. This considered, we opted for the thinner cuts so that we could try more items within our allotted two-hour window. Below were our meat choices, some of which we ordered multiple plates: * 1 Ribeye steak * Beef tongue - my favorite! * Pork jowl * Rib finger * Beef brisket * Baby octopus * Cajun shrimp For sides, we got: * Steamed egg * Soft tofu soup * Kimchi * Cucumber kimchi * House salad * Red radish paper * Onion * Garlic + Jalapeño + Soybean Paste * Steamed white rice The staff came by our table consistently to ask us what we wanted to order and they were also quick to deliver it. That said, we always had something on our grill and meat on the side waiting to be cooked. I also appreciated how they stopped by for a "last call" shortly before our two hours were up. They were also attentive to the build-up on our grill and switched it out with a clean one three times. As for the atmosphere, the lighting could be better as a shadow was cast over the grill, so there were times where we really had to examine if the meats were fully cooked. Also, as one may imagine, it is quite loud in the restaurant so it's somewhat difficult to hold a conversation. This is probably for the best though since it allows you to focus on eating. Needless to say, we used up every minute of our time here and didn't leave any meat behind! I don't frequent KBBQ spots often, but given the selection, quality and quick service, I'd consider Seoul Meat worth the value. 4.75 stars. read more
