My wife had been talking about stuffed crust pizza for weeks so finally got one to celebrate a couple accomplishments at our respective jobs. We called in the order for pickup but we should have looked at the pizza before leaving. Unfortunately, the toppings were placed incorrectly so the pizza wasn't what we expected. I know what you're thinking....5 stars for Papa John's?! Let me tell you, my husband and I have probably ordered delivery from here at least four times. Every time we have ordered, the food arrived ahead of schedule, our orders are accurate, the drivers are friendly, and the food is hot. Granted, we are a 5 minute drive from this place, but they have still exceeded our expectations. Our favorite food to order is a large thin crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs, jalapeño popper rolls, and the Italian papadia. Well, I gave a five star review a few weeks back and now I'm back to zero. Unfortunately one star is the minimum. I had a delivery driver literally drive across my lawn, right across it. I called and spoke to a manager named Chris Newman. Who promised he was taking care of the situation and involving upper management to pay for damages. A day passed, then two , the a week. I have reached out multiple times but am now being ignored . Chris , when you read this ... or it's read to you by your boss.... Maybe you should try shoveling animal sh*% at the zoo. I visited this store today to purchase 2 pizzas and desserts for my job. I was pleasantly greeted by Demetrius, he informed me of the specials and then took my order. This visit to Papa Johns was better than previous visits to other locations because I'm very big on cleanliness and it made me happy to see how Demetrius washed his hands a number of times as he prepared the food; I could tell that he takes pride in his job and making sure that the customers are well taken care of. To top off such an awesome experience, when my order was ready, Demetrius offered to assist me in taking my somewhat large order to my car. I honestly don't understand all the negativity around Papa John's. For a chain pizza place, it's good. We've rarely had bad service and when we do get it, it gets fixed with a minimum of fuss. We can't get Pizza Hut delivery in Norristown Boro, so if we want franchise delivery pizza, it's PJ's or Domino's and frankly, I had enough of Domino's in college. I'm well aware that there are 10,000 mom-and-pop pizza joints in Montgomery County, pretty much all serving the same Neapolitan pie, and that everyone has their personal favorite. If I want Sicilian, I'll go to Bridgeport to the place across from the Bridgeport Rib House. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. And it has nothing to do with the quality of the pizza...... it has to do with the worst customer service that I have EVER experienced!!! I placed an order online....the same order that I always place....Large regular crust with bacon and pineapple on half. After 40 minutes, the pizza was delivered by a very unhappy looking driver named, Dana. I took the pizza inside to dish it out for my kids and realized it was covered with a TON of pepperoni..... my kids won't touch pepperoni. So I called the Papa John's in Norristown PA, where I ordered from. The Manager, April, was completely rude to me after they screwed up my order. She talked over me, so I asked to speak with the manager.....much to my surpirise, she stated that she was the manager. (seriously, who ever put her in a position to deal with people needs to have their head examined). I asked for her name, and informed her that I woul dbe contacting corporate about her rudeness and apathy about customer satisfaction, so she hung up on me!!! So, I called back requesting that they send the correct order... She told me she would but needed the pizza back...and couldn't tell me how long it would take to arrive. I have kids here waiting for their supper, so asked if she could just give me a ball park time, 20 minutes, 30 minutes.... and she replied, "do you want the free pizza or not?". Again, flabbergasted!!!! I waited about 5 minutes and called back requesting that she cancel the order and that I would just dispute the charge with my credit card company. I told her, that since she needed her pizza back, it would be on top of my trash can and she could send a driver to pick up her her convenience... She stated to just keep it because " I wasn't sending you another pizza anyway". BOOM! Quick call to Papa John's corporate and I got a refund and will be speaking with someone about how this incompetant ignoramus even has a job, let alone being in a position of management in their organization. read more

If I have to eat big chain pizza, I prefer Papa John's over say Pizza Hut or Domino's. Unfortunately there are none within delivery range, so I end up driving to this location to pick pizza up. I always place my order online and my pizzas have always been ready when promised and I've never encountered an issue with any of my orders over the years. There are always specials and when you order online, you can earn reward points for free pizzas. Staff has always been friendly when I go to pick up my pizza. This is pretty much a take-out or delivery only as there are no places to sit and eat inside. read more

Not bad for chain store delivery pizza. We have been so frustrated with our local pizza joints, that we figured we'd try this. It used to be a hit in college, so why not give it a shot again. We ordered a plain cheese pizza, that had some flavor and wasn't bad. The dough was cooked just right. The side of cheese bread and garlic dipping sauce was just what I remembered in college ... not bad. The side of buffalo chicken fingers were kind of soggy but weren't terrible. The ordering process was super easy on-line and the delivery was fast, efficient, and accurate. The delivery driver actually came up to our 4th floor apartment instead of calling from the front door, which was a nice change. But ... we are still looking for a tasty local joint. Please help! We ordered w Papa John's after an alarmingly negative experience with the Dominos across the street (PLEASE don't patronize that Dominos). I even called after I placed my online order to modify my delivery instructions - they were polite, expedient, and more importantly, just picked up the phone ! Customer service here isn't so great. There's always a bunch of people here and they're always either outside or on the phone. Really could care less if I didn't stand there awkwardly waiting for one of them to approach me. I usually place online orders and they're usually right but one time they accused me of not paying and asked to see my phone which to be completely honest was rude. They also lock their doors early and not at the time they're supposed to for some reason, so one time I ordered a pizza online, went to pick it up, and their doors were locked. Some dude walked at glacial speed to come let me in and asked what I was doing there. But the pizza is usually fine. Sometimes undercooked. This place's customer service is terrible but the food is fine so I'll probably keep coming back when I'm craving a pizza from Papa Johns. read more

Food prepared within 10minutes (the time it took us to place order and then drive to the place for pick up) - which seemed impressive. The staff could have been friendlier. Been ordering from here for years. The wait for your pizza can be lengthy at times, but they serve a LOT of locations. The Pizza Hut across the street doesn't deliver to my location but this Papa John's does. Understandable. I would have knocked off a star but their food is too good to pass up. Although, something Papa Johns does that a lot of other places do not is send out 'we're sorry' letters in the mail to customers that have had to wait over an hour or two. I am not sure if it's because I am a long-term customer or what, but... Typically, the pizza isn't going to take that long to arrive but I've had it happen and I have gotten free pizzas in the mail over that. I sincerely think that this is a great location. Very disappointed. We ordered online. When we called to verify the order the call apparently got disconnected. We called again and they told us the order was received and was in the process of being prepared. Over an hour went by so we called again to check on the order and apparently they had several power outages and apologize about the delay. After 15 minutes the pizza finally arrived. For chain pizza I always perfered papa johns, but with that being said I am very VERY disappointed with the last two experiences. I order a little over a month ago online. The estimated time said about a 40 min wait, That was completely ok with me but when 40 mins turned into and hour and a half and my food was delivered cold I was super disappointed. I looked passed that incident and order again today for lunch, again I waited and waited and waited . After an hour and half I called and gave them my confirmation number and they said that the delivery driver was here and left with no answer, they said that my phone number was wrong and they tried calling. I WENT ON AND CHECKED AND EVERYTHING WAS CORRECT! my apartment Is directly next to the main door and my windows are open. .Noone buzzed my apartment or "knocked" on any doors....Now I'm left Hungry and disappointed again.
