I always order online with papa johns pizza and they have it ready pretty quickly. Service is good. Never had any issues.

I love papa johns pizza however the Olney location gave an XL pizza with almost 2 inches of crust.

They make their own pasta and bread in-house, and use fresh, locally sourced produce. What more could you ask for? Not cheap, but what is any more? Well worth a visit.

We started with the Grand Caviar tasting, which was the most expensive caviar option on the menu. For the price, I expected much more. The caviar was extremely salty, to the point where it felt like additional salt had been added on top. The tasting included three varieties of caviar. The caviar they used on one was the exact caviar they used in sushi. Our second appetizer, the tuna dish, was significantly better. While the presentation could have been more refined and visually appealing, the flavor exceeded expectations and was one of the stronger dishes we tried. For my entrée, I ordered the branzino. The fish itself was decent, but def not crispy but it was salty. The sauce was salty and the fish was salty making the entire plate feel like salt layered upon salt. Additionally, the skin was advertised as crispy, but it lacked the crisp texture I was expecting. My husband ordered the rainbow trout stuffed with crab. It was enjoyable and probably the most balanced entrée of the evening, though it wasn't particularly memorable. For sides, I ordered the wild mushrooms, and my husband chose the risotto. The risotto had good flavor but seemed slightly undercooked. The mushroom side was also on the salty side, and despite being described as "wild mushrooms," it consisted primarily of portobello mushroom.

What is nice is that plant based cheese as well as sausage is available. We ordered the Ashton pizza (large). It has mushroom, red onions, green peppers and sliced tomatoes. We were able to modify it by swapping the regular mozzarella cheese with the vegan cheese. We also added vegan sausage. The substitution and addition was just a modest surcharge (we were okay with it). Pizza came with a thin and chewy crust. It was very lightly and perfectly charred. The toppings were generous but not too densely packed. The sausage was well flavored links cut into slices. The sauce was the right amount of tangy and savory. Happy with the pizza, will be back.

You can taste the quality of the dough and it was nice and firm, but chewy at the same time--very good! The cheese did not slide off upon picking up (had the most mid pie at Modo Mio in Arlington) and the toppings were also pretty solid. Service was not the most enthusiastic, but not the worse; I cared more for the pizza. In December 2025, my girlfriend & I had a White Elephant holiday party my friend was hosting at lunchtime. It had been years since I went to a Mamma Lucia. I had been to the Hanover location in 2013 & Bethesda in 2016, so it had been almost 10 years since I went. I was never terribly impressed with Mamma Lucia. In 2013 I did a lunch buffet, which was pretty good, but nothing to write home about. In 2016, I had a date, and we split a pizza. Pizza was good, but again nothing to write home about. Olney location overall exceeded my more mediocre expectations. We were a separate large room from Gen Pop, which was nice. Servers were nice, but a couple times were a little slow but mostly did a good job. My girlfriend & I decided to split an entree as we had a BOGO deal only good that day we were going to do for dinner; so we didn't want to overeat. We got a seafood pasta, Seafood Asphargus, which includes some crab, shrimp, scallops, mushrooms on penne, which was excellent exceeding my expectations. The only thing was that it was a lunch sized smaller portion. We are thinking Italian are large portions. The server should've warned us, and she apologized for failing to mention this. The community bread for the table was outstanding too. Because splitting the lunch sized portion wasn't much food, we were pretty hungry at 4:30 and ultimately left our other event much earlier than anticipated, got our BOGO deal around 5 PM, and then came back over there since it was near our other event. We might've been eating dinner at 6 or 7 something if it had been splitting based on the dinner-sized portion. Overall, Mamma Lucia was more good than bad. There were close to 20 of us there. I saw some people hadn't seen in a while and met some nice people including another couple at our table, who became friends. As for the White Elephant, I did well getting an Elijah Craig Kentucky bourbon whiskey. We had a glass on new years. I enjoyed, my g/f didn't like; we doctored hers up to make better for her. I don't think that much at home; so 6 months later I still have half of it left.

We had brought a couple of small snacks, not realizing that outside food isn't allowed. We completely understand that businesses have policies like this, and if it had simply been explained politely, we would have immediately put the food away without any issue. Instead, the manager, Angel, approached us with an unnecessarily rude and confrontational attitude. What should have been a simple, friendly conversation turned into an uncomfortable interaction. Even after we acknowledged the policy, the rude behavior continued, making us feel like we were inconveniencing her by simply being there. There's a big difference between enforcing a rule and treating paying customers with disrespect. The policy wasn't the problem othe way it was handled was. Hospitality is about making people feel welcome, especially when they're willing to comply after an honest mistake. Unfortunately, this experience ensured we won't be returning, and it's hard to recommend a place where customer service is treated as an afterthought.

That time finally happened when I had some time to pass before the event started. When I walked in, I was the only one inside and they were two tables with four seats each and a bench. When I looked at the menu I realized that they had the typical Pizza take out options, but also a bunch of South Asian options. I saw momos. I LOVE momos!!! And, even though it's not on the menu, there is a sign in their window that says you can get a slice of either cheese or pepperoni. PERFECT. So I got a slice of cheese and an order of chicken momos. They said it would take 10 to 15 minutes, but it actually took a little longer... Maybe 20? I stepped out and took a walk around the building. Everything was ready, and I grabbed it, along with a bottle of water, and dove right in. The pizza was piping hot, so I went to momos first. 10 come in an order with a sauce in the middle... My sample size is fairly low, but to me these momos were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic, flavorful and all, especially with the sauce. The pizza... for $5, quite average man. I didn't see any Red pepper or other usual Pizza fixings around. Usually one doesn't have to ask and they might have had them, but I didn't inquire. I really didn't love the pizza, honestly. But if the momos are an indication of the other South Asian options they have, I need to work my way through that side of the menu. And I shall!
