This was my first time at Salt & Vine and the experience was fantastic! From the moment we sat down, we were greeted by our wonderful waitress who was so pleasant and upbeat. We sat in the bar area because it was a Friday night and the wait for a table was 45 minutes. Being that we had never been there, I asked for suggestions for a good chicken meal. She recommended the baked chicken stuffed with cheese and spinach and it was delicious. The drinks and food here are fantastic! Definitely recommend! Great food and service!

I came here for a private party. Salt & Vine is located in the historic Olney House, which has many rooms and charm, making it the perfect venue to host an event. I'm not gonna lie, despite following the GPS, it was tricky for me to find where the restaurant was actually located. The GPS led me through the back way, so there were unmarked roads and no signage identifying Salt & Vine from the back. The easiest way to find the big white house of the restaurant is off of Olney Sandy Spring Road. There's a few parking spots available in the front and additional parking in the back. We had a private room upstairs, almost in a nook. The room was a little dingy and was a bit dated - the mirrors were tarnished and could've used some Windex - but the dining room table was set and it gave us the intimate ambiance that we were looking for. Service was excellent! Five stars for service! Ty was our primary server. He checked on us frequently to see if we needed anything, checked to see how the food was, and still gave us the space to enjoy our private lunch together. Any time a new guest arrived, Ty promptly greeted the newcomer and was ready to get them a drink. When the guest of honor arrived, he gave his congratulatory wishes and really set the tone for a wonderful luncheon at Salt & Vine. Service was super accommodating and pacing between the dishes was done really well. We never felt rushed and also never felt like we were sitting around wondering when the next dish would come. All the dishes served had the necessary serving utensils for family-style. Service was upscale in the sense that they changed out plates and silverware in between courses. Service was also super seamless - another staff member was there to assist to clear plates, bring out food and dishes, and do drink refills - and everyone did their job efficiently and effectively. Leftovers were also packed up by the staff and neatly packaged to take home. We had a family-style meal consisting of the arancini, grandma's meatballs, house salad, wood-oven roasted oysters, fusilli bolognese, artichoke and crab frittata, fresh berries and whipped cream, and cannolis. Each dish had beautiful presentation. The standout dish (and rightfully so) was the fusilli bolognese, which Ty said was by far the most popular dish on the menu. The fusilli bolognese was delicious! The fusilli bolognese was perfectly balanced between the meat, creamy tomato sauce, and cheese. I don't like pasta that's swimming in sauce or that has chunks of meat that's dry or rolls right out of the sauce - this fusilli bolognese does everything right and I'm here for it. The arancini was light and super cheesy on the inside. It's almost like a fried mozzarella ball. The meatball was served with a lovely dollop of herbed ricotta. Both the arancini and meatball were served in a tasty marina sauce and I would say they were good serving sizings for the starters. The house salad was fresh and nicely dressed, but pretty basic - some mixed greens, little tomatoes, pickled red onions, and croutons, plus a balsamic dressing. The artichoke and crab frittata was topped with mixed greens that almost felt like another salad. Everything was portioned out already, making it easy to serve and share the meal together. I do like a little more stuff in my frittata (peppers, onions, cheese, etc. aka the works), but I did appreciate that you can taste the crab and artichokes in the dish. For dessert, we had the fresh berries with whipped cream and a platter of cannolis. We loved the berries and whipped cream - so fresh and lightly sweet and airy. You get a two-for-one with the cannolis - you get chocolate chips on one side and pistachios on the other end - it's the best of both worlds! These were classic cannolis done really well. I highly recommend Salt & Vine for any event you may have. They hosted our luncheon expertly. And the fusilli bolognese- get it!

Good food does exist out in the burbs! Came here at 8:30pm on a Friday cause we finally found a sitter. Randomly, I liked 2 of their smaller plates so much, I could've eaten them as meals if they were bigger. They were the cast iron shrimp with focaccia, and oddly enough, the risotto. Our waiter Aidan was super nice and attentive me Will be back!

Late review ... came here a few of months ago with my husband and teen daughter. We sat outside, as the weather was still on the warmer side. The place looked cute outside. We had a few items; for apps, we split the carpaccio, which we liked. Our daughter had the Ceasar salad, she didn't love it because there was a huge anchovy in the middle (none of us had ever seen such a big anchovy in a Ceasar before). For entrees, I had the Iceland Cod with the faro and fennel salad (might have been a special husband got pasta and daughter had the 6 oz filet mignon. We all wanted to love this place, it's cute and near our new home. Unfortunately, all of our entrees fell short of expectations. They definitely could have been better. And we felt the price point was high for what we got. The service was okay, server didn't seem to know a lot, even brought out wrong. Based on the price point and experience, we're not sure we'll return.

We wanted to get in one more restaurant week date night so we made reservations at Salt & Vine! The restaurant looks like a very large house and has multiple floors and dining rooms/areas. The restaurant was buzzing with conversation all around us. It was a little hard to hear each other, but we adjusted. Our waiter, P.R., made some good suggestions for appetizers. I had the Caviar Bites, my wife had the Whipped Ricotta. We also ordered drinks; I had a glass of Rosé, my wife had the Blueberry Smash. The appetizers tasted good, especially the caviar bites! They're a combination of potato rösti (it tasted like a really good French fry) with various caviar and a cheese sauce called Stracciatella drizzled on than. Yum!!!! We both ordered the Grilled NY Striploin which came with broccolini and pommes rösti (the French fry thing, lol). We both ordered medium but my wife's came out medium well. We didn't say anything about it since everything tasted great! Although she said my steak tasted better than hers since it was cooked as ordered. To end the night my wife ordered the cannons and I had the chocolate mousse. We enjoyed both, but took them to go since we were full. Overall we enjoyed our experience! Restaurant week brought us in, but we'll be back in the future. Thanks to the team here for taking good care of us!

Ambiance was nice and elegant. The cucumber gimlet cocktail was excellent. I also very much enjoyed the focaccia and fried artichokes. The manicotti was bland and I would not order it again. The side salad was super fresh with a light zesty dressing. Finally the chocolate mousse was excellent - super rich.

We celebrated our anniversary dinner here. It was a last minute reservation and the staff really treated us amazing. From the lovely card to seating us quickly, the service definitely stands out. Everyone was accommodating and really cared about our time and experience at the restaurant. The restaurant is a converted beautiful home into a bustling and quiet restaurant. We got the frito misto and two different pastas; the squid ink pasta and the mushroom tagliatelle. The frito wasn't our favorite but the pastas were amazing. The flavor and depth was amazing! We had an amazing time!

Finally got to experience Salt & Vine! I met up with a friend right next door and didn't realize how close this place was. Based on the pics I saw from outside, I thought it was on a hill in the middle of some big field somewhere in Olney, not right in the nearby parking lot XD. It has a stunning exterior with patio seating. It was a beautiful day, so my buddy and I kept debating between sitting inside and outside. Before deciding we did walk through, and I loved how beautiful the decor inside is. I didn't get to see upstairs, but I imagine it was even more delight. We eventually decided to sit outside, the weather was irresistible. When we sat down, we made an awesome discovery -- it was about to be happy hour! They have it 7 days a week at the bar or on the patio, so it turned out wonderfully. We still had about 20 minutes, so I got a bowl of gazpacho in the meantime. I hadn't had it in like 15 years and it tasted even better than I remembered! It's about as summer as you can get when it comes to soup. When happy hour time came, we got fritto misto, which is fried calamari, shrimp, scallops, and lemon slices all in one... very unique, and I was intrigued! There was definitely more shrimp than anything else though. We each had a FANTASTIC lamb chop... I have to bring my friend who loves lamb in the near future. And we each had a glass of wine and split the fusilli bolognese. That was an excellent pasta -- flavorful and all. All this to say, I had a fantastic time at Salt & Vine after watching it for like two years. I am looking forward to bringing my parents for some special occasion. It was awesome!

The food is so fresh! And you have to try the bread - yumm! The acoustics are little loud but the graduer of the house/restaurant makes up for it. Beautifully decorated.

This is a great HH spot. I find the staff friendly and other patrons to be welcoming. The ambiance is comfortable sitting at the bar in the bar area, it is a great conversational area. The drinks are well-made and warmed my soul. The food was amazing, especially the Single lamb chop. I enjoyed it so much I had three the first time I visited. The pizza, was satisfactory, (I am a pizza snob.) I would get it again. I can not wait until my next visit, I know I will not be disappointed.

We've been wanting to try salt & vine for a while and finally got the chance to this past Friday evening. Be aware parking is very limited and you may have to drive around for a little in order to find a space. Although pricey, we all very much enjoyed our dinner here. The crab linguine was delicious, as was the shrimp in butter sauce. The focaccia is also house made and we used it to dip in the shrimp butter sauce. The beef carpaccio was tasty and the brocollini was grilled to perfection. The drinks were all presented beautifully and you really can't go wrong with any of them! Our server was kind and gave us great recommendations. My only complaint is that our food took over an hour to come out, but our server did apologize for the wait. I am assuming that was out of the ordinary. We will definitely be back!

Cute and quaint ambiance, indoor and outdoor dining. The food was good and server was attentive! What a lovely space. Can't wait to come back on a nice fall day and enjoy the outdoor patio with my dog. I got the cod and it was cooked to perfection, delicious side of wild mushroom. My friend got the risotto side and it was delicious as well. We came on a Saturday for dinner and the restaurant was full. We were seated promptly with reservation though.

Came here for lunch with a friend a few months ago & enjoyed dining here! Super cute & cozy vibes, especially on the outdoor patio space where we sat. I ordered the mushroom tagliatelle & lobster bisque and liked both. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will be returning here again this weekend, for dinner this time! Somewhat limited parking behind the restaurant, but there are several extra spots by the entrance sign to the center.

The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere that's perfect for a weekend brunch, date, or catching up with friends. The service was friendly, and everything came out fresh and well-prepared. We started with the Toffee Walnut Pull Apart Bread, and it was easily one of my favorite dishes. The buttery, flaky cinnamon-sugar bites with toffee sauce, candied walnuts, coffee crumble, and maple cream were the perfect balance of sweet without being overwhelming. The Charcuterie Board was another standout. It featured Cabot Clothbound cheddar, Prosciutto di Parma, and Fra' Mani Soppressata, making it a great option to share while enjoying a glass of wine. For appetizers, the Crispy Brussels were packed with flavor. The kung pao vinaigrette, toasted sesame seeds, and cashews gave them the perfect combination of crunch and sweetness. For entrées, we ordered the Winemaker's Breakfast and the Steak Frites. The breakfast came with sunny-side-up eggs, herbed hashbrowns, chicken apple sausage, fig jam, buttered sourdough toast, and fresh fruit. The Steak Frites were cooked well and served with chimichurri, crispy fries, roasted garlic rosemary aioli, and aleppo-mustard seed ketchup. One of the things that makes Sixty Vines unique is their selection of over 60 wines on tap. I opted for the DAOU Pinot Noir, which paired perfectly with the meal. As for drinks, my favorites were the First Crush Martini, The Slipstream, and especially the Frozen Espresso Martini--it's absolutely worth ordering if you visit. Shockingly it wasn't too crowded for a Friday so that was great. The ambiance was great as always. They always play good music. Our wine bar waiter was very friendly, and attentive. He was very knowledgeable about all of the wines. I am so glad they brought back the Paloma. We did not do an entire tasting so we only tried 3 wines which were complimentary and then we headed to the bar for happy hour. At happy hour we were greeted by the friendly bar tender. He explained their menu and we chose to order the Bee's Knees for a drink. I tried it with whisky instead of gin which was just as great. For food I ordered the Tempura shrimp and the Oxtail Quesadillas. The flavoring of the tempura shrimp was phenomenal and the oxtail quesadillas were delicious with their different flavors. As wine club members we were able to redeem our two dine in bottles. If you didn't know you can have them pour wine from those bottles and then have them corked so you can take them home if you can't finish it at your table. For our dine in bottles we chose the Gold Rush which a very savory wine. A little too dry for me but I still enjoyed it. Overall, what a great experience as always. If you are in the area check it out. Cheers!

The place…read morewas packed when we arrived, and it was pretty noisy inside, so sitting outside turned out to be the right call. The only rough part was the welcome. The hostess seemed to avoid eye contact for about five minutes even though we were standing right in front of her. It felt a little like we had shown up too early for a surprise party that was clearly not for us. Once we were seated, everything improved. Our waitress, Paige, was attentive, thoughtful, and made the experience feel genuinely warm. We started with the mussels, which were exceptional; meaty, creamy, and delicious, with bread good enough to make restraint feel optional. We also had the mini Paloma oyster shooters, which were fun and memorable. I ordered a seasonal cocktail with very little simple syrup, since I usually do not like sweet drinks, and they got it exactly right, which is rarer than it should be. For the main course, we had the seasonal surf and turf special, an 8 oz filet mignon with crab meat over asparagus and succotash. The crust on the steak was excellent, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned, and the filet was cooked exactly as ordered. We finished with their newer take on key lime pie, which was very good and nicely balanced; not too sweet, not too tart. We spent just under $100 per person, so this is not an inexpensive night out. That said, the food quality and service largely justify the price. Overall, aside from the awkward start at the hostess stand, this was an excellent first visit. We spent just under $100 per person, so GrillMarX is not playing in the bargain bin, but the food and service were strong enough that we would absolutely come back

We wanted to spend most of our time talking so we only ordered an appetizer and drink. I got the half rack of ribs and a coke & she got the spinach dip and water. They both came out at the same time and was perfect to eat and chat. The only thing I would comment on is the fact our server kinda seemed like his shift was about to end and wanted us to hurry up and close our tab. The only reason I name it so specifically is because I have felt like this before when I used to work at a restaurant but the difference is that I would give the table their space and allow them to finish organically.
