As I do feel like this place use to be better a couple years ago it's still good. But I feel like everything comes with less meat than it use to. I highly recommend the Italian sub it's always been my go to and I will not order any other sub! Best way to eat is putting lays potato chips in your sandwich to add another texture and that crunch is game changer! read more

I wanted to like the pizza, but unfortunately, I didn't. I can forgive the fact that they got the order wrong...it happens, even the weird way to cut the pizza...a slice is a slice, but the dough is awful. It tastes like pre-packaged pre-made crusts you get from the supermarket...dense and overly bready. I guess some people like that, but not me. If you don't have a delicious crust, doesn't matter how good the other ingredients are... it's just lipstick on a pig. I'd try their sandwiches in the future, just not a fan of though dough and I realize that is completely subjective, but if you're like me, it's an essential piece in a good pie. read more

I moved away from Twin Falls almost 20years ago and I still make sure to visit and get a sandwich from papa Kelsey's.

My mother and I enjoyed this long time favorite place- and it's just like it was almost 20 years later! I had the turkey supreme with a large salad and mom had the steak sub with a salad as well, that also came with the little bag of classic Lays. It cost just a little over $23.00 not bad for a delicious dinner, that brought back fond memories. If your looking for consistency and warm homemade breads you've hit the jackpot! read more

This is my mom's ultimate favorite place to eat! So, naturally every time I am in town, I have to take her! I've been getting the same thing since I was little. A ham & cheese sandwich with tomatoes. Still, never disappoints. It's probably a good thing I don't live in Idaho anymore or I would be here a lot more. We gave this place a try as I am searching for a wider range of food delivery options. I liked that I had the option to order online. We got the super special which comes with 3 subs and a 2 liter of soda. We also chose the garlic cheese bread and Italian salad. The delivery didn't take too long, however, the food wasn't the warmest. They gave us plenty of napkins and there was also a bag of chips for each of us. I had the wrangler, I didn't know it was going to have pineapple on it. I didn't care for it. My 9 year old son had the Italian meatball, he didn't care for it. My 20 year old brother had the taco sub, he said it tasted good but it would've been better if it was warmer. The subs are pretty big in size and the fillings were all of great proportion. We all liked the garlic cheese bread. The salad was a good size and had a good amount of cheese, olives and croutons. However, it definitely lacked in portion of pepperoni. The lettuce was fresh and crisp. Over all my experience was okay. I would give this place another shot. I will definitely order the garlic cheese bread again. I would also order the salad again but next time I will try a different sub. read more

I used to frequent this place as a kid. I've read terrible reviews about the current state of the restaurant, and I'll say it wasn't terrible. I'm several decades removed from Twin Falls and taking an objective approach: yeah, locally, it's way overpriced for the quality (or lack thereof). I'd consider myself a connoisseur of both good and bad food (no discrimination) and you go to Papa Kelsey's for the nostalgia; not for the food, cleanliness, service, etc. All of those things are delightfully... I made the mistake of giving this place a second try! Went in for dinner tonight with my baby sister. Upon walking in the place was still filthy (think dive bar but dirtier). The young man working behind the counter walked up and just stared at us- no hello or what can I get for u....nope....just an awkward blank stare. We asked if we could order and no joke he said "mhmm." So we ordered 2 turkey supreme sandwiches and spicy fries. It took quite awhile for our food to come out (I would like to assume they had alot of phone orders....because there was hardly anyone in there). The young man bringing our food out tossed it onto the table and walked away- no can I get you anything else....no nothing! The food was terrible. There was such a large amount of mayo that u couldnt taste anything else on the sandwich and the fries were not crispy at all. So frustrating! I'm not sure what happened. Their bread is still good. But everything else is not terrible, but it is not special. When I grew up here everyone loved this place and when I would come back to visit you just had to come have a sand which. And they were amazing. Maybe they are under new management or something. But the foot went WAY downhill bin recent years. It's like I may as well go to subway. It's a waste of money to go here. The woes of Twin Falls eateries just keep on going. Your best bet in the city is unquestionably Mexican, but assuming you're not in the mood for it, you get into dangerous ground venturing out into other food types or even chains. What should be relatively safe (pizza, sandwiches) here is rendered into a bland and borderline disgusting mess. Here, we have not even a correct or decent mix in the soda fountain. This place reminds me a lot of a Subway, where staff is nearly always just going through the motions and phoning it in. They seem to do an ok business, which I equate to people not knowing any better, not caring or being pals with the owners and/or staff. It starts at the beginning with a moderate wreck of an interior and one of the most ill-designed menus I've seen. I strongly suggest they throw it out and start over. Flatbread pizzas are good, but not if you make them reminiscent of Subway, only worse. Do I need to be pounded with rosemary baked right into the (thin, cracker) crust when it's a "cordon bleu" pizza? Definitely do not. The bread for the pizza, assuming it's the same as they use for the woeful Parmesan Styx, is also kind of garbage-y. As I didn't trust them to do an actual pizza, nor did I have the time for one, I don't know for sure, but if it is, avoid. The sandwiches were not better. Gloppy is the word I think I'd use and they didn't quite cook the contents enough to soften the raw onions and green peppers much. Yum? Not, definitely not. I don't know what they're doing here, which is probably ok, as clearly they don't either...take a pass on this one. read more

Had Papa Kelsey's to go last night. Ordered from the one on Blue Lakes. I had 1/2 a Pizza sub. All you could taste was sauce and cheese. Opened up my sandwich and think I may have actually saw 4 pieces of paper thin pepperoni. Definitely not the way they used to be. We order from this location at least once a week- and honestly I'm not sure why! But we're done for good! Every time we order our food is cold and the sandwiches are soggy and bland. Tonight for 32.00 we got 2 sandwiches and 2 fries. The fries were ice cold and greasy and our sandwiches were soggy and cold. When we called back they said it took 90 minutes because we were the last on the delivery. They were not surprised by the fact we were calling to complain about that. However--this is the norm for this business. When we've called in the past to let them know it's ice cold they say they don't care and what do we expect them to do? My son likes their food and just cooks it in the oven and adds cheese and sauces and changes the food profile to make it edible. But as of tonight-- no more! read more

So I grew up in wendell and the subs were great I always got the Italian combo and they came out hot and so good and( hot! ) and now it is room temp ingredients on cold bread and oh dont think I will order from them again not only was my Italian combo cold but the meatball was too. This is a nice little place that you can tell is family owned. The service is great and the sandwiches are simple but amazing.

I have eaten here for years. It's a mom and pop shop, but has the best subs in town. Everything is homemade and delicious. (croutons, and bread are yummy) Great for delivering to work, or meetings. They also have a few other things on the menu if you don't like pizza type things, or sub sandwiches. Their taco salad is awesome. The last year or so their sandwiches have gotten kind of skimpy, they use to ooooz with yummy. :o( read more

Absolutely awful! My wife and I went in and ordered a pizza and a salad. After 45 minutes, we went to the counter to find out they had forgotten to make our pizza and were just finishing it up. No one bothered to come say anything after they realized it, they just figured that we'd waited that long, we'd wait some more. Then, not only did the pizza taste terrible, but my wife is currently vomiting and my stomach isn't far behind. They made sure to mention quite loudly in the kitchen that they gave us a large pizza instead of a medium after we had waited 45 minutes with not a single word. For people who are complaining about the pizza, who cares when they have the subs they have! The business doesn't claim to have the best pizza. Actually, they don't claim to have the best subs, but they are damn good! You will not find bread like this anywhere, I guarantee it!! Ok, just had lunch here, we arrived before the rush, they are always busy at lunch, ordered salads and sandwiches, we waited about 40 minutes before we received 2 of our 3 sandwiches, but no salads, the girl said something about getting our salads, she also dropped off a sandwich to the table beside us, they looked at it and said this isn't ours... But she was gone, so they proceeded to find out which table it went to. About 15 minutes later she dropped another sandwich on our table and the table next to us, both were wrong, the other table called her back, gave her the sandwich, we tried to give her ours, but she just looked at us and walked back to kitchen. My daughter took it to the counter , they told her to keep it and they would make a new one. After 5 more minutes I caved and ate half of the wrong sandwich, everyone else at our table was done, and STILL no salads, it's now been an hour, our 2 year old granddaughter is very restless. I went to the counter to get reimbursed for sandwich and salads. I was ignored for about 5 more minutes. My daughter came back in to see what was taking so long, finally the girl delivering sandwiches walked over, and told me there's nothing she can do, she's new. ???? I asked for a manager, she said there wasn't one today. ????? A girl that was making food came over, said she would get our salads in to go boxes.... awesome, salads to go when I have no time to eat them! And they wrapped up my sandwich, finally, to go. Needless to say, worst service EVER, and they didn't seem too concerned. FYI to the "new" girl, use common sense, check with the table before you just drop food off and leave, it's not rocket science. I've been a customer of Papa Kelsey's for years my husband and I had lunch there today and I was surprised to feel that the place wasn't clean. When we walked up the windows and door weren't clean, the salt and pepper shakers were filthy, the tray in the pop machine was gross and we watched a couple start to use the high chair and then put it back because it was dirty. We were driving through town and were really in the mood for pizza, having just had a discussion about how awesome Il Vilcino was back home. We decided to stop in at the "best pizza place in town." Literally everything about this place was awful. Of the two restrooms, one was broken and the other came pre-loaded with floaters. Then we got a chance to speak to the woman at the counter, an experience we got to prolong by giving her our order 3 times. Next we got sodas from a fountain that had no ice, and Sierra Mist with a very distinct flavor of mildew. So you know they keep that thing clean. After a while, the pizzas came out, and we learned that perhaps we should have stayed at the counter to give our orders another 2 or 3 times, as both pizzas (complicated pizzas incorporating a whopping 2 toppings each) were wrong. The double-pepperoni had almost two slices of pepperoni per slice. The other was bell peppers and tomatoes, only instead of bell peppers we got pepperoncinis, glued down with the most rubbery lukewarm cheese I have ever seen still referred to as 'cheese'. My girlfriend hates spicy food, and I find that in most cases those yellow peppers just leave a pizza tasting like vinegar. Which it did, and at least, I suppose, it washed the mildew taste out of my mouth. The server did offer us plastic plates and disposable forks with our pizzas, however they too came pre-loaded with sauce and bits of cheese. It looked as though they picked them up from another table and gave them directly to us. I covered mine with napkins, because a pizza that sticks to napkins is better than one that sticks to whatever was on the plate. The very best part, however, was when we removed a few slices and discovered that the cast iron pizza pan they brought it out on was actually aluminum that had so many layers of gunk baked into it that it just LOOKED like cast iron save the cuts from the pizza cutter and a corner where it had been dropped. We were starving from being on the road all day, but we still got up and walked out of there after those first awful-tasting slices. read more

Can't even not give any stars, don't eat here. Had pizza delivered and was promised 30 to 45 minutes. Came 1 hour and half. I should have had read the yelp reviews first. Don't eat the pizza, it's not fresh. Try Frozen!! When I called to ask if it was fresh the lady answered the phone said that that meat is frozen, think she slipped, and she said that they sometimes put the pizza in twice in the oven, beware eating here, have not had the subs. But let me ask you this do you get sick after you eat here? The reason is because they serve you frozen food!! Yuck!! read more

I will agree with the other reviews on some aspects. The restaurant is often messy, and staff aren't always cheery or helpful, but the sub's are amazing. We always get the ham and cheese sub with spicy fries and a salad. It's a staple in our house, and we haven't found its equal.
