A loyal customer no more. Ordered on the phone. Large pizza & 2 side salads. I order the same order about 2x month. On 1 occasion the salads were brown and wilted and the pizza which is supposed to be "thin crust" looked like a deep dish crust. Very disappointed. Today asked if I could get another dressing (small takeout cup) and was told rudely that I would be charged extra. Ashley the so called "manager" was very rude and condescending. First, I will start with the positive: 1) The service was outstanding. Jay helped us with menu choices and he was great. 2)Generous wine pours. 3)Generous portions. Some of the other factors were not as enticing. The ambiance is a bit hectic. It is a very large restaurant and fairly bright. The restaurant was very busy and has a strong following. Fairly popular on a Saturday. We started with the eggplant appetizer and it was very bland and greasy. The soup was bland and tasted like canned as well and the tiny pasta was very over-boiled and far from A la dente. The pizza was ok but not unique, but probably the best part of the dinner. The Spiedini also fell short of expectations- it was coarse and not very tasty. I actually threw out my leftovers. Because of the great service, we really wanted to like this place but the food just was not very tasty. Also, the online reservation feature doesn't work, so we had to wait. read more

I'm a pinch I'd maybe think about getting this pizza again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it. It's a cross between thin crust and hand toss. A little too thick to be considered thin crust. I was underwhelmed. The Mediterranean salad was OK as well. I asked for no olives and they were on the salad - at least they were whole and easy to take off. Service was great! We decided to host a surprise birthday and retirement party for my dad at Papa Luigi's after meeting with their coordinator Janet and discussing what we envisioned for the party. From the start, Papa Luigi's was so accommodating to everything we wanted -- 60+ people, pizza/pasta buffet, drink tickets for guests and to bring in our own dessert. Today was the party and it could not have gone better! They had the room set up when we arrived and had ideas for some of our decorations. The servers and bartenders assigned to our group were so attentive! The food came out right on time and consisted of a salad, garlic bread, baked mostacolli, and assorted pizzas and man did they keep the food coming! Our guests all loved the food and said they plan to come back. They also enjoyed the bloody mary bar. The servers kept clearing tables and even offered to cut our cakes for us! They also encouraged us to bring out leftovers home and gave us to go containers. The party went off without a hitch and my dad was so happy and our guests left full! i cannot recommend Papa Luigi's enough if you are looking to host a party or if you just want to grab a fish fry on Fridays or some yummy Italian food. read more

The cheesy garlic bread and thin crust pizza special is our go to every time. I do feel like the sauce on the pizza was a bit more sweet from what I remember from last time I was there a couple years ago. Not a fan of super sweet pizza sauce. Some may like but we don't. This restaurant is located on Layton in Cudahy. Quite a bit of parking in the rear. They have a couple different rooms for seating area and a decent sized bar area if you need to wait for a table. They were moderately busy tonight, with a fair amount of take out business. They also have an outdoor patio. I went here with my dad. I ordered the crab linguini which I have had here before. It is always absolutely delicious! Can't recommend it any higher! If you like crab, you will love this dish! My dad had a Hawaiian pizza and it looked phenomenal! I thought the best part of our visit to this restaurant was the ranch dressing. It was good, but most of the rest was actually bad or burnt. Bad Italian food is hard to do, so this was both suprising and disappointing. My friend thought the fried mac and cheese was ok, but I didn't care for it, so that might be a matter of taste. We called before heading over to make sure they had a table available, and they said they did. But what they didn't say and what our server didn't tell us (until the multiple times she came over to tell us our food was still running late), was that their kitchen was overloaded and everything would take a very long time. Ironically, our pizza came burnt on the bottom, 5 or 10 minutes less time would have been great for both our expectations and made it edible. When I showed the server, she brought a manager over who gave us a few $ off the mac and cheese - very odd choice, and far too minimal and unconcerend about quality for us to consider ever returning. Me and my husband recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for our favorite local pizza place, and we definitely found in Papa Luigi's. We had the seafood platter with beer battered cod, fried perch, and butterflied shrimp. Our server is a captain of many ships (manager/waitress/bartender) who goes by the name of Nancy? She just celebrated her 62nd bday.. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu/provided us with carry out and delivery menus as well. In a attempt to see as much family as possible while in Wisconsin, we made our way out for a bite on Saturday afternoon before toasting to our cousins buying a new house. The meal went a little something like this.... We arrived at opening (11am) and were the first ones in the restaurant! The hostess was friendly and seated us at a circular 6 top table in the corner, with a great view of the entire place. It's obvious they are shooting for the Italian vibe as Frank Sinatra played overhead, a burgundy color painted on the walls and dim lighting to create an intimate feel. Our server greeted us right away, took our drink order and let us look over the menu before ordering. Each day a special is offered, which is a fun way to explore the entire menu. The day we were there, an Italian sandwich was offered with fries, which one of the guests ordered. Lunch and dinner menu is offered daily and they are known for their famous pizzas, which we gladly split as a group. On their signature crust, we opted for a traditional cheese (on half) and pepperoni on the other half and a meat lovers on their thin crust. I ordered a salad on the side (to get my fill of greens, as the Midwest is not one for veggies!) which was HUGE in size and delicious! The food itself was outstanding. I loved my everything salad and the pizza was perfectly cooked, gooey and crunchy crust - all tasting delicious! The portions are LARGE and we were table to take plenty home for leftovers! mmmmm! Pricing is really reasonable for all you get! By far, the best thing about this place is the service. It was so prompt, friendly, and nice. Our server gave us the perfect amount of space, but also made sure our waters were filled constantly, as we decided to sit and chat much longer than anticipated! no pictures were taken, as i was having far too much time enjoying it all! While I can't speak for being inside the restaurant (even though it did look very inviting), the food itself was not very good all things considered. I ordered an Italian beef sandwich with crinkle cut French fries. The bread on the sandwich was very soggy and wet, while the beef was very dry and plain for my tastes. Not too much in the way of extra spices or vegetables either. The fries were even worse being again, very soft and soggy. My sister ordered the Chicken parm, and while it did smell pretty appetizing, she had remarked that it was just ok. Considering their prices, being just ok doesn't cut it. Let's hope that the next time I visit, these items are an outlier, and not vindictive of the other foods quality. read more

Not only did the pizza look sloppily thrown into the box, our mama marias garlic bread was uncut and essentially a brick. The Caesar salad was incredible! Hands down the best I've had. The dressing is tangy and the everything tasted fresh. The tiramisu was also pretty good. Light in texture but full of flavor. The pizza was a bummer, but as soon as I walked in I realized it was more of an Italian restaurant than a pizza joint. The crust is thin but lacks the crunch and the sauce tastes like repurposed spaghetti sauce and was a bit too sweet for me. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, I just wouldn't order the pizza. read more

Terrible customer service. We ordered 2 pizzas to be delivered because we were sick. My husband's pizza did not have the pepperoni or sausage on it. He didn't like the bland taste without it and actually ended up offering another pizza for himself from Dominos. The receipt and ticket on the Papa Luigi's box were both correct, so it was obviously a mistake by whoever was making the pizza at the restaurant. But when i emailed the complaint to Papa Luigi's customer service email, they responded by telling me to contact the delivery company. Even though it wasn't the delivery company's fault, I emailed them anyway, but their response was no compensation could be given. I emailed Papa Luigi's back and told them the response I got. They responded by basically saying too bad and let us know if there's anything else. I wrote back saying that they could at least give me a credit for the 2 toppings we paid for but didn't get the next time we come in the restaurant to eat. Then they just stopped responding to my emails at that point. Lesson learned. So if your order is wrong and it's delivered, you're sh*t outta luck. I don't think i'll be ordering from them or visiting the restaurant again. Too bad cuz I liked their pizza. read more

Papa Luigi's is solid for pizza. The sauce is sweet, crust is thin, and toppings are good. Our party of 10 got a table in the open room next to the bar pretty easily on a Saturday night. Service was okay, nothing stellar, it was adequate. But the pizza- really good! And a Large comes w/free order of Garlic Bread, so our big party saved $10 on appetizers! And before you "compliment" me by saying "You should really go down by dere and have X Pizza Place", just save it!
