Papa Luigi's is a quaint restaurant on High street in Sutton. I went in as most restaurants were closed and I was aware they served gluten free food as well. I had steamed fish and a large Greek salad. The salad was by far one of the largest salads I have eaten in my life and was very good value. The fish was bland, but I enjoyed the salad. Grew up going to this place. Recently moved back into the area so was excited to see how it was. Took the wife for the first time here. She is from the east coast, so is a fish and chips aficionado. Had the halibut and fries. We had one dinner and ordered a second piece of fish. Great big portions. Wife loved it. Decent amount of batter, but great amount of fish inside it as well. Fries were chunky and cut on-site - and nice and crispy. Gravy was very good. Definitely one of the best couple of places in the area. Will definitely be going back. read more

Based solely on the PIZZA. If you are going to advertise yourself as a 'pizza' (and fish n chips) place, you gotta make better slices/pies. This pizza was worse than a frozen McCains. Around Jackson's Point, this here's the best fish and chips you're gonna find. (the place right on the black river's good too, and their chips may be a bit better, but the fish and batter are not as good). Papa Luigi's Battered Halibut is HUGE and perfectly fried: golden, light, and CRISPY! The portions are well beyond what most places serve. I visit Simcoe once a year and when I do I always get my fish & chips at Papa Luigi's. Their pizza is awesome too! read more

I come here pretty often since I got a job in Sutton. I have had a lot of their sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, pizzas... and I love everything. One special thing for the winter is that they have this PERFECT cider from a local orchard (I THINK it's Homestead Orchard, but I can't recall, I'll edit if I have to). That cider hits the spot if you're looking for something to take you straight back to your childhood. I definitely recommend their burgers, their pizza (it's not the pizza that you're used to from chain restaurants, I'll tell you that), and their fish and chips. One review says that they are undercooked, but if that WAS true, it definitely isn't true anymore (it's piping hot and crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside). They COULD add a lot more tartar sauce for the fish, though. They give you a small container with tartar sauce when they should just be piling it on. read more

Came here with a bunch of kids. Food was really good and it came quickly. Server and staff were very nice. My kids said the pizza was very good and we saw that they source all their ingredients locally. My fish and chips was very good as well. The halibut here is excellent. The portion was huge as well as the fries. Here's the downside. The gravy was disappointing, fries slightly undercooked. I had actually come in here as they also advertised pizza which apparently they did not have? Wtf. Will come again for the fish, but will have it with one of the terrific looking Greek Salads. read more

Papa Luigi's is an institution in Georgina - an area where, based on a few other restaurants I've been to, isn't an easy place to serve up consistently good food. I've been here several times over the years and just got prompted by Yelp to leave a review, so that's why I'm writing this now. Their fish and chips (halibut) are top notch and comparable to my favourite dedicated fish and chip spots in Toronto (only once did I find the fish over-cooked and oily but they were getting slammed and I'm sure they would have made it right if I had brought it to their attention). The rest of their menu - breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, homemade pizzas, salads etc - is just rock solid. Everything I've tried is fresh and done well. The atmosphere isn't fancy but it's pleasant and spotless. Don't come to Papa Luigi's expecting to be blown away by some signature specialty (although those fish and chips are pretty up there). Come for the consistently good, fresh food and nicely balanced menu. Oh - and I'm selfishly reluctant to write this because they're already in short supply - but come for their freshly baked cookies - which are some of the best I've had anywhere, period, full stop. read more

Had a great lunch! We all had the fish and chips. The batter and fish were both perfectly cooked. We also loved the fries! Only issue to note was we found the tartar sauce had a bit too much relish for our liking. We also had the mozzarella sticks and the marina sauce was perfect. This place is my go to restaurant. The menu is written on a chalkboard. The interior is simple yet nice. Their food is sooo delicious. The halibut is cooked perfectly. I used to go there years ago and was driving from Toronto to Balsam Lake on Saturday and thought I would drop in. I picked up a piece of halibut only and ate it on the way. I was unpleasantly surprised when my stomach started rumbling. I made it to Balsam Lake but spent a considerable amount of time in the washroom.
