Papa Murphy's has been around so long and I always went to them for fresh, piled on flavor. But after the accident in 2017 it has never been the same. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza large. It was canadian bacon instead of ham and small amounts of Pineapple with small amount of cheese. I saw that I'd have to add cheese and pineapple so thought I should get a Ceasar Salad too. After my additions it came out great. But the salad had brown pieces of lettuce. I couldn't eat most of it. Very sad. Especially since they ask for a tip which I didn't do. read more

I was surprised to see how many one star reviews this location has. And after reading through them, most of them don't make full sense. Anyway, here's my experience: Wandered in on a Tuesday and was surprised to see they had their specials going on. $13.99 for a large, but the family size is also discounted. We ordered 3 specialty Family size pizzas and only spent $50. Like, what. *mind blown* Talk about a good deal. The pizzas were made up for us in a matter of 10 minutes or so, and we were on our way. No issues with the food, and the pizzas were delicious. I only take one star away because the lady at the register wasn't too friendly. She didn't do anything wrong necessarily, but she also did not smile or have a very welcoming demeanor with that, our experience with her was pretty brief and did not impact the food once we pulled it out of the oven. Overall, if you are looking to save some money pizza night, I definitely recommend coming here on Tuesdays. read more

This place is located in the same shopping center as Big 5 and Target in Grass Valley ( Mcknight shopping ). This is a good place to get a pizza before game time! Love all the veggies on the pizza! They regularly have advertised specials. Its a good idea to check the app! It was not crowded at 1130am today. It was super clean and the lady up front was friendly! It might not be the greatest pizza but it can be wallet friendly. Plenty of parking! They open at 10am. read more

Service is great but on Tuesdays they advertise " large pizza on thin or regular crust 13.99" No stipulations. If you order a half /half pizza they charge you full price. Saying you can't have more than 5 toppings. But if you order a full everything on it pizza you get the 13.99 price. ( has more the 5 toppings on that. My half Hawaiian half cheese has three toppings. This place used to be good. But as of lately, their service has gone to the dumps. I went in on a Saturday at 7:23 pm(They close at 8pm), and was told they only are doing pre made orders, so they had like 5 pizzas made none of them that I actually wanted. It takes 5 minutes if that to make up one of their pizzas, so not sure what the deal is with this place and it's management. I am changing my previous review: I must have got lucky the first time I came here. Wow. Who makes a pizza with NO SAUCE? When you're putting on the toppings and see there is "no sauce" what makes a person continue to load toppings onto of just crust? That's just ridicules. Whoever made our pizza should never be allowed to make another pizza as long as they live. We called in requesting a refund for a unedible pizza. Hopefully my husband will be refunded for his order by tomorrow. What really sucks is when you didn't cook and it's a few minutes before they close and now you're stuck trying to figure out what to eat. Not happy and I will never eat here again! This location has poor reviews, but I have never had a bad experience here. I prefer this location to the other one in town. The pizza is always made correctly here and tastes good. Service can be a bit awkward at times with all the teenagers working behind the counter, but nothing terrible. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The cashier was having difficulties getting her computer to work when I went to pick up my phoned in order. It was going on about 10 minutes, I did not have any cash, had I known I would've come prepared. She was getting progressively more upset and got super short and snappy with me. An elderly woman walked in and she barks at her "are you going to buy something?!" The woman looked alarmed and said "um well yes, I didn't come here to browse!" The cashier, then responds "cash only" and proceeds to take her order, completely, ignoring me and not acknowledging what I'm supposed to do I'm left standing there like an idiot, so I finally say can I pay for my pizza and she says cash only so I just walked out after dealing with her horrible attitude I had had enough. read more

Today is October 7th I just left the Papa Murphy location. I've never had a problem with meal or even customer service. I must say I got the worst attitude and service tonight. The lady named Karen... a Hispanic woman was rude when she asked if it was an online order or not and when I told it kindly it was she walked away to get my pizzas. Then after she scanned my 2 pizzas up, I slid my card and she snapped and shouted "don't slide yet!" ... okay. She then asked me if I had slid my card in such an attitude. I told her "no, I haven't" Then I proceed to wait a moment, waiting for her to direct me to slide my card again... maybe she could be much nicer about small things.... Then after my receipt prints she walks away. Not a peep out of her. No "goodbye". Nothing. Nothing to indicate service was over. Just weird. I don't recommend ordering from this specific location with the lack of respect for others. Thankfully I ordered online and I didn't have to intrude on any employees day by calling it in. I tried to choose 0 stars but yelp wouldn't allow it. The staff could not understand the order when it was called in-took AT LEAST 8 times if explaining a 1/2 Canadian bacon, black olive, mushroom and 1/2 pepperoni, black olive, mushroom pizza. Received only $2 off for a coupon that said "free side" because staff didn't know what a "side" meant. He said it meant a "side on the pizza." So I paid $6 for a salad, drove home, found mold on the salad, & drove back 15 min to return it but all the staff could do was replace the salad even tho I asked for a refund because I shouldn't have been charged for it initially. Asked to talk to the manager in the store or on the phone and there was no one available. Upon talking with the young man that said he was in charge of the store at the time-after explaining all my frustrations-he was simply laughing at me with another man who appeared to be a customer or friend in the store. He was very unprofessional and unaccommodating. He did not seemed concerned about the poor experience that I had. The customer service was terrible. I asked for thin delight crust-it was not but I did eat the pizza because who knows what this crew would have done if I had asked for it to be remade! I will not return to this location. Pizza is tasty, customer service is tolerable, but my husband and I always get a weird sort of mild illness when we get pizza here. Took us a while to isolate that it was from the pizza here, but after getting a pizza Friday night we've spent the whole weekend sick with symptoms I won't describe. Worry about the sanitation practices here or ingredients being left out too long. Health department should probably pay them a visit. read more

The pizza is great and the staff are ok my issue is with the corporate office and their online app.The app often does not work correctly and will not give you the discount so when I mention it at the store the staff say they cannot honor the online coupon.On this visit the discount was a free pizza .The corporate office gives you the run around when you contact them concerning the issue. read more

I have been a Papa Murphy's customer since 1999 but after my last experience at Papa Murphy's Kmart plaza I think never again. I ordered one of the new Angus steak Delite pizza's...when they gave it to me it had NO toppings on it. When I complained I got an earful from the snooty young lady behind the till. What ever happened to customer is always right? Then I tried to use my Papa Murphy's pizza cards...I had three of them that totaled a full card. This same young lady told me one of the cards was no longer valid but refused to tell me why. So instead I tried to use a coupon that Papa Murphy's SENT ME...you think I was trying to commit felony fraud!! My only mistake was paying for the damn thing instead of walking out. I have had good service overall...but tonight, not so much. The first complaint that I have ever had was regarding the "thin and crispy" dough. I always lift the pizza off the tray, after 10 minutes, to get a crispier pizza...well, not tonight. The pizza dough was so thin that when I attempted to lift the pizza off the tray....the dough tore....and I had to leave it on the tray. Okay....things happen, right? Well, I thought that I should contact the location and tell them what happened so that they could correct the problem. In the conversation with the "clerk" who rang up my bill and answered the phone was...."attitude." After asking to speak to the Night Manager, she told me that there was not a night manager because the night crew has experience and have been working there for a "long time." She also stated that the problem was with the day crew who makes the dough.....but she was not interested in telling them ....as it wasn't her problem. Needless to say, with an attitude like that, I won't be back. This person was not a team player....and had not consideration for the day crew or me as a customer. So "Bye Bye" Papa Murphy's on McKnight.....there is another Pizza Purveyor in the same shopping center. Competition always speaks to the lack of customer service in the food industry. read more

Will never go to this location in the future. I was driving 3100 miles, over 5 days, and wanted to pick up a pizza for dinner - McKnight Road, Grass Valley. Took some time to get a signal to grab the telephone number and then pulled over to call the order in. I requested that the pizza be cut in two and wrapped individually. I always do this at other locations, usually not a problem and have done it here too. He tells me that I can cut it the way I want when at home. Told him I had done it there before.... So, didn't order there, and WILL NEVER ORDER THERE IN THE FUTURE - Yuba City does a great job in cutting a pizza in half.... (I had food in the car that I could have for dinner, so really didn't need the pizza, but would have been nice) If management wants to know who was working that day, I talked to the young man on Wed, Oct 6th, at 3:30pm. I stopped going in there several years ago due to BAD customer service, but my last visit reminded me why I stopped going there. Yes, after several years I went in again & I'm sorry I did. The employees must hate their jobs & people in general. I thought I had ordered a pizza on line as I have done in the past. When I walked in the young man was finishing up with another pick up. He turned after he handed the lady her pizza & went over to start making another pizza. I had walked up before he had finished with the customer. He then left & went into the back room. After about 10 minutes an anger-faced woman said, He's here (me) for an online order. They could not find my order. She then accused me of placing the order with the Nevada City store. I said NO. I did not. I ask about a refund & was told I had to do it on line. She could have offered to make me one if I paid for it, but she did not. She was extremely hostile toward me. After about 15 minutes I walked out & vowed to my self I would never go it there again. I used my cell & ordered one from Trailblazers in Alta Sierra. It was ready in 20 minutes. This store is horrible. Long waits and mediocre food. Tonight I ordered 2 all meat with white sauce. 1 piece had a mushroom another had an onion. Really is it that hard to keep vegetables off a meat pizza. Dough had to many air bubbles causing it to cook uneven. Not worth every going back will wait for Frank's from here on out. read more

We've ordered pizza the same way through the website on multiple occasions. The other day we did it again and when I got it home I saw that they had made it wrong, which is fine, mistakes happen. I called and they said no problem, bring it back and we'll make a new one. We bring it back and this awful person (I'm assuming not the same person who answered the phone) behind the counter tells us they did not make it wrong (they absolutely did) and that it's all our fault. We showed her the exact order from the website and she still had the balls to claim they got it right and was a complete B about it. After arguing with her (very politely), she still refused to remake it. Terrible customer service. I can't believe the owners let someone like that work there. My kids were bugging me to get the Jack o Lantern pizza for dinnner. Since I am an amazingly awesome mom, I happily abliged. Super simple dinner? Yes please, sign me up. I called ahead so that I could quickly pick up the feast and head home. The person who took my order said that they would be ready for pick up in 10 minutes. I arrived at Papa Murphys 15 minutes later. I stepped up to the cashier and paid for my pizzas. Then she started looking for my order. It was missing. The manager becomes involved trying to locate the missing pizzas. After about 10 minutes, I suggest just remaking the missing pizzas. The manager was completely annoyed and finally instructed the pizza makers to remake my 2 pizzas. One of the workers got right on it, he was apologizing for the mix up and said that he would immediately make my pizza. Upon hearing that, the manager flipped out! She reprimanded the employee for placing my order before the tickets that were already in line to be made. He tried to justify it to her and she wasn't having it. She told him that if he didn't like her rules, he could walk out the door and lose his job. I was mortified! The manager was an older woman (not wearing a name badge). It was completely unprofessional to yell at an employee on the floor in front of customers. The poor pizza maker guy just kept apologizing to me. I told him that I would just wait. I didn't want him to get into any trouble. In the end, I was inside of Papa Murphys for over 30 minutes. There needs to be some serious training to management. It is not acceptable to yell at employees, especially when the employee was trying to fix a mistake. The manager offered no apology for the mix up, no discount, nothing but attitude. AND.....I have had good experiences at all of them, EXCEPT from the Papa Murphy's in the KMart shopping center. The employees as well as the manager are so rude! This location hardly honors coupons that I have; they make all sorts of excuses on why they won't honor them and have denied letting me use my "take n bake" club card! It's absurd! I have never had bad experiences at any other location. I will never order from this location again! Grass Valley is far too small of a town to have such poor customer service! Yum! Fresh pizza that I can bake to my liking and pull out piping hot when I'm hungry. The only weird thing about this place is that they tell you it'll take 20 minutes for any order you place, regardless of what day/time you call it in. Now, we all know they make plenty of combination pizzas and all the popular one topping pizzas and keep them stacked on the racks until a customer walks in...so why the wait?? I guess they really want to make you think they make it when you order it everytime but...you can bet on a Friday night, they've got those pies well in advance so just charge on in there and grab one! My husband and I get pizzas from Papa Murphy's fairly often and the pizzas are always very good and what we ordered. The wait time isn't very long at all. It's mostly teenagers that work here and when the manager isn't in, they get orders wrong a lot because they are joking around and talking instead of concentrating on what they're doing, but at least they're pretty friendly for the most part, or they have been in my case. read more
