Ordered a delivery order of a large pizza and two salads. When I spoke to the female on the phone I let her know that the last time we ordered the salad was brown and we had to throw them away. She assured me that the salads would be checked by her and there would be no problems. When we received the order the salads had brown lettuce. I called and she said that she made the salads and they were not brown. She agreed to remake the salads and send them here. They arrived and they asked for the other salads to be returned. I had put the brown lettuce in a baggie. There was no follow up call or offer to refund for the other two that were brown the last time. This place has the most awesome pizza in town! Located at the end of the road past Taco Bell and Oreillys auto store...just off the freeway in Grass Valley. This place has been in business for a very long time. Although pricey the pizzas are LOADED with all kinds of stuff We ordered the medium pizza combo and it was enough for 4 people! Although I paid 29.00 dollars for it I had plenty of leftovers..one slice and I was stuffed! They also deliver for a charge. They have indoor dining with tvs and serve beer and wine. It's very casual. They put very generous amounts of toppings on their pizza! I got it to go today for the pro ball game. Trust me....it's worth the extra money..fresh ingredients! Driving up to the restaurant, the sign light was burnt out. The only lights in front were "beer lights". There is no menu. Upon asking to see a menu, we were handed a very filthy take-out menu from another pizza restaurant, that had a huge corner ripped out. We ordered a pizza from that menu and then ordered wine--which was on the menu. We were told they don't have a liquor license. Our pizza arrived and we were given cheap paper plates and cheap napkins. No forks. Since the pizza was very messy, we got pizza sauce all over our hands. What a mess! We have been enjoying Lamppost for many years but they have really gone downhill in both quality and customer service! After ordering for delivery last night, we recieved the wrong order (we ordered a half combo for us and half pepperoni for the kids - but received a combo). It was cold, very little cheese or ingredients other than the dried out sausage on top (looked like they dumped the leftover sausage all over the top) and even the sauce tasted bad! It was late, so today I called to ask that they look at it and exchange it (its still in the box except for the one piece we tried to eat). "JJ" was rude and refused, treating us like bums trying to get a free pizza! He finally offered to do it at a reduced price of only another $20 and was rude about even that as "that pizza is almost a day old!" (what, was he upset that he couldnt resell it again to someone else??). I explained they closed and if he would just LOOK at it he would understand why we could not eat it, but he just got angrier and ruder. I will add that the delivery driver was friendly and that was the only good thing about this experience (we tipped him well and he deserved it) but this family will not be wasting its hard earned money to ruin a family night with pizza with Lamppost ever again and I hope you dont either. We have been looking for a "back up place" for when we must have pizza but don't want to drive 30 min. Lamppost is the 4th GV pizzeria we have tried and finally....now we have a place we will try again! We got a basic cheese and pepperoni regular crust and were very pleased. It was cooked perfectly...crunchy end crust with gooey cheese. The sauce yummy and full flavored. They didn't skimp on pepperoni. Yep. We were satisfied for sure. Oh..and not to forget to mention...the staff was so friendly from the time we called to order to when my husband went in to pick it up. I took my family to Lamppost Pizza in Grass Valley last Saturday, in total there were 7 of us. Of the 7 of us 5 came down with food poisoning (none of us had lunch together). My dad called the restaurant, explained what happened and asked for a refund. He was told they would refund only the cost of the pizza not the sodas. I can sort of understand the manager's logic the sodas did not give anyone food poisoning the pizza did. But this is how you end up with 1 star reviews on Yelp, a report filed with the Nevada County Environmental Health Department and a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The restaurant is a little dirty and run down, they are even using some of the tables to store supplies. Also the pizza took an hour instead of the 25 minutes they told us it would take. read more

The person who answered the phone tonight mumbled something that I couldn't make out. I thought maybe the person had said,"please hold a minute," as often is the case when ordering a pizza. So, I waited a minute. When I didn't hear anything I said, "Are you ready to take my order?" The person replied in a voice something like,"What the F.....I said....." Obviously that isn't what he said but that was the one of voice. What he said in a rude accusatory manner was,"I said Lamppost Pizza. How can I help you."
