Decided to give MM a try, not realizing that my son and husband had picked up a pizza from there, a few years back and I'd given it the same review as I am now doing... PLUSES: Excellent service, the toppings were good and very fresh and red sauce was good. MINUSES: Again, the crust was under cooked - like someone else described, it was like the crust from a frozen pizza place in a regular oven. While the toppings were delicious, the slices were cut so thin, that 50% of the toppings just fell off the slice and for me, there was just too much sauce, which overpowered the toppings...but that's probably more of a personal preference. We got our family together and met on site, I had no idea they had so much seating!! They have a new salad bar that offers everything I could imagine on my salad. And we love their pizza. They had a very quick turn around for a group as big as ours, everything was fresh. I recommend for a small gathering on site. Ordered calzone! Disgusting! Very processed fatty chicken, cheese inside never melted! The owner slammed the salad bar doors throughout our lunch! I finally asked her to please stop! Calzone took 15 min to cook but half cold! Watched owner change out salad bar after cleaning and not washing her hands and scraping all of the stuff from one of the containers on top of the next, which I know people do, but she was also cleaning and never washed her hands in between so I wouldn't touch the solid bar, even though they have a great variety. This is a great pizza place off of Argall Way in Nevada City! I believe it has been around for 30 years and is family owned. Today...January 15th....see receipt. My friend and i decided to go to Miner Moes because i had not been there in years since i moved. They have several lunch specials to choose from. We ordered the medium combination that was full of goodies such as sausage..bell peppers..olives..linguisa..and more! It was SO filling that just one slice is all you need. I ordered the one trip salad bar...its a really small salad bar but it had what i liked..fresh greens..cherry red tomatoes...shredded cheese..olives..broccoli..sunflower seeds...almonds and more. Plenty for 2 to share! The pizza and salad bar were both delicious. We had a ton of leftovers to watch the football games later on tonite. Its cute inside and they serve beer on tap and wine along with sodas. The employees were friendly and the place was clean. DEFINITELY a great experience. One of the best pizzas i have had! Ps. I haven't visited Miner Moe's yet, and I've lived here 19 years. This review is specifically about why. For years, every ad I've heard on the radio emphasizes that you're women-owned. That's great, and I'm genuinely happy for your success. However, that fact alone isn't what draws me to a restaurant. What would get me in the door? Tell me about your pizza. What makes it special? Do you have a killer crust? Unique topping combinations? A signature sauce? Family recipes? Fresh ingredients? I want to know what makes your food worth trying. The ownership background can be part of your story, but when it's the primary or only message in your advertising, it doesn't give potential customers like me a reason to choose you over other pizza places. Your pizza might be amazing - I genuinely hope it is - but I'd never know it from your marketing. Food quality is what brings people in and keeps them coming back. Consider leading with that instead. read more

I has ridiculously bad experience at this place. Order a take out large pizza with explicit instructions to use tomato sauce, in fact, even extra. I mentioned it twice to a woman who took my order because I know very often...that these orders can be ignored. When I get the pizza...no tomato sauce. I pointed this out and they said they could make another but I had not time, Asked for a discount given the fact that I had made it clear and a younger man, refuse. I asked for a coupon for a discount the next time i came in. Not only did he refuse but he exploded in anger...and ultimately ended up screaming at me to get out of his shop. Given the fact that I knew the owner and this was always a great place....it blew me away. This occurred quite a while ago, so I hope this guy....whoever he is, hopefully not the son, is gone. We got two great pizzas for our first time visit. Large combo and medium pepperoni. We all loved the crust. Nicely crisp. Pepperoni was a nice surprise. Had a nice spicy hit. My father has a ...let's just call it what it is "a big baby tongue." It was too spicy for him. So those with a super tender tongue like kids might want to take that in to consideration. Firstly, they have calzone. Note to other pizzerias: sometimes, you just want a calzone. I left work, put in a take out order. I ordered a calzone and a pesto chicken sammich for the hubster. Ordering over the phone was easy. I walked up to pick up my order and Madonna was playing through the speakers outside (how can I not love that?!). Anyhoo, after leaving with food, I went home and indulged. I enjoyed my calzone. My husband's sandwich didn't have very much chicken which is why I'm only giving four stars. It's not a wood fire- Neapolitan type of place. It's a classic 1980s-90s West Coast, family - run type of pizzeria. I knew that before going and it hit the spot. Hands down the worst pizza I've ever had. Sauce was overly sweet, cheese had a rubber texture to it that felt unnatural. People claimed that it toppling a were fresh but there's no way, rotten tasting bell peppers. Pizza was also extremely small for the price, could have gotten better value at Little Caesars. Those in my house who were willing to eat the pizzas noticed that the toppings immediately fell off the pizza, leaving the worst two ingredients to eat. The only positive tasting thing we had were the pepperoni which I have to say were excellent. To top it all off, we all are experiencing food poisoning symptoms the day after words. Considering reporting this business to the heath inspector... never coming back. read more

Pretty disappointing. When ordering my Pesto pizza I asked for fresh tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers only on half. What I received was a half Pesto half red sauce pizza with onions and bell peppers on the whole thing. In addition, they rough chop their onions and bell peppers instead of slicing them thin, so they don't cook at all. Wasn't exciting a crunchy pizza but this was my experience. read more

My little one was hangry after a day of exploring and wrong turns thanks to Google maps. Thankfully this little place was close and had plenty's of tasty options to feed a growing girl. The young lady who was busy managing the front and cleaning the rooms was very pleasant. Our only issue was the very loud and abrasive couple who came in who put an abrupt end to our meal. My little one didn't feel safe and comfortable any more so we boxed up and left. When she has to cover her ears and is hiding in the corner of her booth away from "the loud mean people" it might have been time for the folks who work there to redirect them outside instead of the kid who was enjoying her meal. read more
