Old school carpet, green stripped awnings on windows. 85 bears celebratory decorations, maybe they'll update it when the bears win again? The four of us at work today all took advantage of the Monday special where you buy one pasta dinner, get a second of equal-or-lessor value free. We are all glad we did. We loved it. Spaghetti, ravioli, mostaccioli, and chicken parmesan all hit the spot. The portions were huge, so big that for some of us the amount of food in the two dinners comes to more like three or four meals. We have also had the pizza several times (also excellent) and the antipasti salad and were more than satisfied. We look forward to more, and often. read more

2nd time eating their pizza, however, first review, and my first time dining in. It's a large place with ample seating. Also, there seems to be a small arcade room for the kids. Our waitress was hustling. It was a busy night, especially with kids running around everywhere. We ordered 2 RC cola drinks and a 14" half sausage, half pepperoni pizza. We almost finished it, but took several pieces home. It was slightly greasy, but not too bad. The crust was thick for a "thin crust." I think we waited 25 minutes or so for it to cook. Just another pizza place in my area that I needed to try. I ordered a thin crust pizza for take out. The sausage pieces are big and the cheese was decent. What I didn't like was the pizza sauce. It honestly tasted like pasta sauce and it wasn't cutting it for me, it tasted too bland. I'll be going elsewhere for my pizza needs. read more

Observations on carry-out order so can not comment on atmosphere, service, etc. of the restaurant. **Chicken Noodle Soup** should be named "Carrot & Celery" soup as there was literally a tiny bite of chicken with a couple noodles, was severely lacking in flavor and top was ridiculously covered in so much parsley! **Broasted Chicken Dinner** I have to say we have been coming here for years just for the chicken albeit rarely due to distance and this last order was sadly dismal at best compared to the past. We received breasts that had burst, literally making them chicken jerky vs the succulent chicken that broasted is supposed to be. They never should have allowed them to leave the kitchen. Dark meat was "fine" at best but something has changed and it was not as tasty as it used to be. **Sides** again were "fine" but not nearly as good as they used to be and i don't know what they are trying to pass off as "gravy" for the mashed potatoes but it was (and I hesitate to use this word, but it was) vile. Might try going one more time to eat in the restaurant, but that's questionable - so sad! read more

So just to be clear I am only commenting on SERVICE. Apparently they DBA as Papa Ps on Door Dash. This evening I placed an order ~7pm and they cancelled it nearly an hour later. A completely fantastic experience! We secured a private room to celebrate my father's 90th birthday! With 12 great grandchildren the game room was a big hit. To top it off the food was even better! Like this place, but with how busy they get for takeout, they really need to upgrade their order services to give you a true ETA of when your food will be ready. My family has been going here for decades, though hadn't been here in years. Nothing has changed - not even the very worn carpet. Good pizza, but rude staff. Pizza was good and very cheesy, but asked for thin crust and it was at least medium. Server was rude, uncaring, and seldom around. Please note this review is during COVID time. Called to place an order for pick up. Call was answered within 1 ring. Person who took order was friendly. Wait time for pickup was about 20 min which is very reasonable for a Saturday afternoon. Their pizza comes in 3 thicknesses so I chose the medium thickness. I ordered the Italian beef as a topping. Although tasty, I felt there was not much beef on the pizza. I had ordered a Italian beef and giardinara pizza from here in the past it which was good. I ordered wings as well that were delicious. I was given a strong recommendation to come here as they have been touted to have amazing Pizza! Came on my lunch break and the lady behind the counter said it would be 5 minutes as there was a fresh pizza coming out. Fresh pizza absolutely is the best :-)! Not a problem, but after 5 minutes she tells me I'm so sorry , but they have yet to put the pizza in and it will be another 18 minutes. Problem is I only get 30 minutes for lunch and it takes me 5 minutes to drive to go back and forth. Needless to say, I walked out hungry, without Pizza, and a bad taste in my mouth as to how a business can run out of pizza when they sell by the slice . We ordered delivery from here last week. It had been a while so we went with our usual, which is an order of 20 wings and 2 orders of broasted potatoes. Food is decent. I have attended and also had an event scheduled in one of their party rooms. Both times the experience was very favorable. They were fantastic to work with when booking a party with them service was excellent the food very good and the value exceptional. I also attended a graduation party and a wedding shower there as well And those went well as well. We do enjoy their buffets, although we don't usually get there too often but I would like to make it a more routine habit as there lunch and dinner buffets, as well as their Sunday. I've been here a couple of times. This is Family Joynt. Sporty bar. It has old and dark decor but I like their food. Good calamari, tentacles and lightly breaded yummy. Cooked perfectly not rubbery at all. I would come here for the pizza thin crust is the way to go! We got the Loaded pizza, mushroom sausage pepperoni onions green peppers. Pizza came out pipping hot! Gooey cheese and full of flavor from the meats to the other toppings. I was surprise that it was still warm even when we were done and asked for a to go box! They had a buffet dinner but we didn't like what we saw. They have different rooms that you can rent for parties. They need to change up the decor, it looks old and outdated. They have a lot of flat screen TVs around the main dinning/bar area to watch your favorite Chicago sport teams. If you're in the area and want good quality pizza and you don't care much on how the place looks, come here and dine in or take out. I'd go back here again. read more

Veteran walks into the restaurant. Walks up to the bar for a refreshing beverage. Barkeep was dissatisfied with a vertical Military I.D and turned him away. Unfortunate to consider this a "welcoming family establishment". When prompted Barkeep to look at Military I.D, was shooed away due to the lack of "horizontal" placement. A rude server and host. We went to dinner tonight with some friends and when we walked in, my mom & brother were just sitting down to eat, so we invited them to join us. Since they were not having the buffet, they asked for a separate check and our server said no, one bill per table only. They said they'd move back to the table they would move to their own table. She rolled her eyes and let out a very rude "FINE, I'll give you a separate check" and proceeded to huff and puff her way through serving us. I guess we were bothering her when we asked for refills on soda. She was useless and rude, not great traits for a food server. As bad as our server was, the kid at the host desk was worse. On the fundraising flyer, it indicates that kids bet free tokens for the games Monday - Wednesday. We asked him about it & he said he didn't know, we'd have to ask "Bob". Not he'd go ask Bob, we'd have to go find Bob and ask him. BTW, they don't have free tokens anymore. On our way out, I stopped to let him know that the free tokens information is also on the website and he should let his manager know. I got a terse "OK" followed by him going back to playing on his phone. I followed up with could you let your manager know now. "I will" and right back to his phone. I continued with, really, I mean now, as in stand up and go let them know. It took two more exchanges before he put his phone down and pretended to go inform the manager. Pretended because he walked around the corner and peeked back several times to see if I had left. So I followed him to the corner, he went halfway down the hallway and checked back, then the end and checked, At this point, I was going to let the manager know myself. I followed down the hallway and he disappeared. I asked the folks in takeout if they had seen him and they hadn't. I explained the the situation and how the host was completely blowing off the request of a patron. They really didn't seem to care either, but at least said enough to appease my growing anger. I realized nothing was going to be brought up to anyone in management and that they really didn't care. I left. Oh, and just to add, the table across from us (with a different server) had multiple separate checks and no attitude. read more
