Best tavern style in the western burbs, addictive to eat. Sauce was top notch , crispy crust . Great when it's cold too

Chicago Tavern style pizza, is a term that currently identifies the thin cracker style crust cut into squares. Kim's Uncle Pizza meets this definition, but in my opinion that is where it ends. Our pizza was cooked perfectly and had a even distribution of sausage. The sauce had a unique taste and texture. The sausage offers a different flavor, not spicy or sweet. I was happy that I gave it another try, the sausage is not for me. Next time I will try the pepperoni. My tip is to order early, I placed my order in person at 5:20 pm and was told it would be ready at 8:20 pm.

Cool little place that was fun to visit and lots of history. Hands down one of the coolest ovens I've ever seen. Pizza had 5-6 pepperonis per tavern style slice and it was waayy overkill. So much that you had to pull the off just to try and taste anything else. I'll try it again, but no pepperonis next time.

Here's a shorter version: --- Amazing tavern-style pizza. The crust is thin and cracker-crisp, but still firm enough to hold all the toppings. We tried a sausage-mushroom and a pepperoni with hot honey, and both were packed with flavor. The sauce is another highlight. Hours are limited and they only take phone-ins or walk-ins, but it's absolutely worth the wait.

If you love tavern-style pizza, Kim's Uncle Pizza in Westmont is an absolute gem! We ordered the pepperoni pizza with hot honey and wow -- this pie delivered on every level. The crust is that perfect ultra-thin, cracker-style that stays crisp to the last bite. The pepperoni is plentiful and just the right amount of crispy on the edges. But the real star is that hot honey drizzle -- it brings the perfect balance of sweet heat and really elevates the whole experience. Be warned -- this place is super popular and they only make a limited number of pizzas each night. The phones start ringing right at 4pm and they can sell out fast, so definitely call early to get your order in. It's carry-out only with a couple small tables, but this is the kind of pizza that's worth enjoying anywhere! Highly recommend if you're in the area or even if you have to make a bit of a drive. One of the best pizzas I've had in the Chicago suburbs! Will definitely be back!!

Taste of Westmont Review! Kim's Uncle Pizza has long been on my list to try. After their recent pizza review, it seems this pizza spot has become even more popular than it already was. When I found out they were nit taking phone orders for Taste of Westmont, I was there in a heartbeat. They offered a special menu for the festival which allowed my husband and I to try multiple items. The staff worked efficiently to take orders & payment, provided a pick up time, and had a side window when orders were ready to divide the lines. Our order was ready at the exact time they told us! For food, we got the 10" cheese pizza, 10" sausage pizza, and side of two meatballs. The cheese blend on the pizza was super tasty and sausage was well seasoned and fresh tasting. This pizza has CRACKER thin crust. It could have had a bit more sauce for my liking to balance out the slices; but overall, I enjoyed it.

Finally got the chance to try this place out. My friend called in the order and stated he had to call at least 10 times before he was able to get through to place the order. Then, there was about an hour and a half wait. We tried 4 pies, and they were pretty tasty. My favorite was the sausage, followed by the Italian beef. Others in our group enjoyed the hot honey and pepperoni, but I found that one to be pretty greasy. They only have 2 small booths inside which are cramped. It was nice day so we were able to sit on the picnic tables in the back. If you have the patience to keep calling, give them a shot!

This was some of the best thin/tavern style pizza I've ever had and I still think about it. This review is late, but I picked up a pizza here while in Chicago this summer and I can't get it out of my head. There was another spot I was originally trying to go to and they had odd hours, so I decided to try this place. They weren't answering their phone so I was worried, but eventually they did and we were able to place an order and pick it up. We didn't eat inside so I can't say much about the ambiance but my goodness the pizza was amazing!

My fiance tenaciously planned to get us dinner from here on a Friday night; they open their phone line for orders at 3 pm and he said he had to call 28 times to get through and then was put on a five minute hold, but he did succeed! Takeout is pretty much the way as there are only two tables in the restaurant, so if you don't live in Westmont, bring an insulated bag or find a park to picnic in! The food was definitely worth it: the pizza crust was crisp yet chewy with spicy little pepperoni all over the surface, and the cheesy bread was a nice balance of the ingredients. We didn't even get to the meatballs because we were too full! Lunch tomorrow. Overall, it's worth a little effort to try this pizza. Would return.

Cracker thin crust. Amazing pick up experience pizza was right on time. A little salty or spicy for my taste. Is it very good but was the most spicy pizza i can rememeber. It is unique. I d recommend trying it but it wont be my go to traditional pizza.

    Half cheese, half sausage

Had to stop here after flying in from Seattle. Definitely was worth the stop. The crust is thin crispy and flavorful. Had a half cheese and half sausage. It was so good.

Pepperoni and sausage no cheese for some reason and very burnt

After waiting for months to eat here they are always out of pizza for some reason we thought that was a good sign but we were wrong so disappointed No cheese on the pizza extra burnt pizza and pepperoni I don't think it's safe to eat it we tried taking some of the pepperoni off but it was basically card board don't waste your time waiting for it or your money...

Uncle Kim's lives up to the hype with some seriously delicious cracker-crust pizza. Super thin, crisp, and flavorful -- it's the kind of crust that actually makes you want to eat every bite. Toppings were fresh, sauce had the right tang, and overall it hit the spot. Only callout: they don't open until 3PM, and that's just to start taking orders by reservation. Definitely feeling the Portnoy effect here -- we showed up at 3:20 to place an order and were lucky to snag a 4PM pickup. By the time we grabbed ours, they were already booked out past 8PM. Plan ahead, order early, and it's well worth it.

Is it a dine in or only carry out?

You can dine in, though it's going to be a *very* tight fit - I believe no more than a total 2-4 people, more with smaller folks and less for bigger people. That's assuming no one is waiting inside to pay and pickup their carry out orders, of which…

The sauce is overly sweet, the crust is mediocre, and the meat quality/flavor is noticeably different from what you'd expect at a traditional pizza place. They also do not serve alcohol, which is their choice, but it makes the atmosphere feel even more limited for what should be one of the premier outdoor dining locations in downtown Clarendon Hills.p What makes it more disappointing is the location itself. There are very few units that can have outdoor seating (as epitomized by the Prospect Tavern that fell through because they couldn't even get three parking spaces for outdoor seating approved), and this spot has some of the best outdoor seating in town, yet it's usually nearly empty while neighboring restaurants are packed. It feels like a missed opportunity for the area. If only we could have gotten something like Parlor Pizza here instead!

We are so glad we did! Because the cheese was perfectly gooey without being overwhelming paired with a delicious tomato sauce atop a complimentary crust with just the right amount of give to it. This may be the only thin crust pizza I would continue to get. The pan pizza was basically just the thin crust pizza with a lip on the perimeter and more cheese. This pizza was not nearly as good as the thin crust because if I'm going to eat a non-thin crust pizza, I want a more doughy crust and this just did not deliver. There was also too much cheese and it wasn't charred the same way the thin crust was. The inside is quaint with hats from all over everywhere. Service is also very kind and as quick as they can be with how busy it is. My only complaint is I wish they had a vegetable side dish that was fried, but it's a local pizza shop and perhaps not the right audience for this.
