I live 2 blocks away and had never made the trip. At first glance it's a neighborhood Famous Daves…read moreand...that's pretty much right. The vibe is as generic "America! BBQ!" as you can get. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, though. It's counter service so you order, grab your drink, take a seat, and wait for your food. We got the "Chopped Chick'n" platter and a brisket platter. The chicken was extremely tender and well seasoned. By far the best thing on the table. The tangy slaw was really good, too. Not too saucy, good texture, and light. The cornbread was not my favorite. Very northern; overly sweet and pretty dry. The crispy edges were great. The brisket was really disappointing. It was over-rendered and really dry. If fell apart (good) because every bit of the intramuscular fat had cooked out (bad). I think they just don't get enough traffic to cook them fresh so the ones from the morning dry out in the warmer all day. I think this is a better option than Famous Daves for larger groups r corporate events but would probably just go somewhere else or smoke something at home instead.

The pulled pork was good, the ribs (especially their crust) were good too! The creamed corn side was amazinggg. 5 bbqs on the table and I enjoyed them all/they were all unique! Plenty of seating indoors and out. Fair prices ($20 or less gets you a meal!) Great portion sizes, I was stuffed! VERY quick service, almost too quick haha. Friendly staff! The parking lot is a little small, but there's street parking nearby.

Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular. With all that said, however, I still will return here as often as I can because I love supporting this business. The person serving me was very hospitable and patient. I still got some pretty solid barbeque even if it's not Texas. Besides, outside just the barbeque food, the soul food was solid, like I had mentioned above.

The bartender told me that the go to was their Czech Pilsner and so that's what I had. It is light and smooth, very easy drinking. I'm impressed that they have a wide selection of stouts and IPAs and wheat beers to cater to anyone's taste. The food menu is limited. The food ordering process is really fast casual. You order at the bar and then they deliver your food to the table in cardboard basket dinner where is plastic and you bring your condiments to the table you choose. I wanted to try their wedge salad as well as their slider flight. The wedge was unique because rather than using iceberg, they use Romain, which actually was a nice change of pace for a wedge. It was good. The onions and tomatoes were diced, the dressing was thinner than most wedge dressings, but it was flavorful. The two pieces of bacon on top were whole and quite frankly might've been better if they would've been chunked the smaller pieces as well, but that's not a major issue. The slider flight comes to three sliders. One is a smash burger , one pulled pork, and one is chili chicken. The rolls are fresh and akin to a Hawaiian roll. The Smashburger was a good basic burger, the pulled pork was decent. And the chicken chili, was a shredded chicken that was spicy, but not too spicy. They were easy to eat and enjoyable. All in all the food was good, but not extraordinary. They were satisfying. You're not going to see a Michelin star given to StormKing anytime soon, but that's not the point. If you were looking for a quick easy to eat meal and a really solid selection of micro brews that you won't find anywhere else, the Storm King is worth a try.

They have options outside, booths, tables and bar seating. You have to order at the counter than they bring you your food while drinks/beer are given at the bar. We order some apps consisting of chips and salsa and an order of wings (3). I had an aperol spritz which was delish and had those fun summer vibes. The staff were friendly. The chips look definitely homemade and maybe made fresh when ordered. The salsa is more like a pico and tasty. The wings were good and came with some celery and ranch. They are the whole wing so you'll have to work for your food. Great atmosphere in this neighborhood and fun place to hang out. Parking can be difficult if you're headed down during a twins game. No parking lot, just street parking. They also have a cart of games to play if you're interested in that. I was eying the uno card but didn't have any takers in my party to play against.

Driving by decided to stop in to bb.q Chicken and give it a try. Very happy with our decision!…read more This is a Korean style chicken wing. They offer whole chicken, boneless and regular wings in 14 different seasoning, (Not all of the seasonings are available for the whole chicken) along with a big variety of sides. As we looked over the menu a staff member greeted us and let us look at the menu for a bit and then offered to answer any questions. We asked about a couple of the flavor options, they offered us a small sample of the seasoning to help us decide. We chose the small honey garlic wings and a small Gangnam style wings. A small is 8 wings, a medium is 16 wings and a large is 24 wings. The wings themselves are good sized. We also ordered the cheesling fries which was also a very generous portion. The wings were very crisp and hot when they came out. The kept there crunch through our whole meal! I was impressed that the breading didn't start to get soggy. The Gangnam Style was sweet and salty with a little spiciness. It was spicy for me, but very tasty. I would be able to enjoy a couple pieces but the heat would eventually get to be too much for me. The honey garlic had no spicy rating. They were a nice complement to the spicy option we chose. This is a small restaurant with about 15 tables. It's counter service and you get a number for your table. The only thing slightly negative is the floor is a little sticky. The food is worth the trip to this place!
