We had a slight hiccup where the seafood paella had been prepared with excessive chili. As this was a non-traditional paella, it was explained to us that this was the usual heat level. The assistant manager and server were very understanding and made up for it by adjusting our bill accordingly. There is live music and we cannot wait to come back and try the other items on the menu. Pizza looks legit. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for excellent food with reasonable pricing (for Monterey)

When…read morereservation was made through open table app it was indicated that we choose them to celebrate a birthday. There was NO acknowledgement of this, in fact a message was sent to restaurant asking a question and never received a reply, so a call was placed to get the answer which was answered by hotel front desk . What is the point of offering guests an option to send a message, someone's not checking ? Table was set VERY sparse , napkins and silverware and what I thought were bread plates. In fact no bread was offered, not sure if they do. NO salt and pepper, decorations or lighting on table either, VERY plain. Food was decent and menu was limited in the choices. Tapas are overpriced and not varied in my opinion . The entire salmon dish was very heavy on the butter All in all , an OK and highly disappointed experience. Wait staff ok , food ok , food and the space was visually appealing but the restaurant lacked something that should could make it a memorable experience.

The cocktails did not disappoint and were very creative and delicious. The O So Sabroso is an interesting take on an Old Fashioned with just a hint of Iberico ham. The El Bulli, Taragon Fix and Honey Honey were also fantastic. Since it was getting towards dinner (and we were a bit tipsy) we decided to cancel our other reservation and stay for tapas. All of the tapas were expertly executed. The jamon and mushroom croquettes were both delicious as was the Moorish Lamb. The carxofa was next level. The papas bravas were also delicious and were somewhat different being small potatoes with the skin on. Service was excellent and very friendly from the two ladies working behind the bar. The were fun and made excellent suggestions for cocktails. Highly recommended!

Expect to spend 50+ / person but it is totally worth it especially on a special occasion. If you sign up for their membership, you get free churros. Definitely order the paella to share, it was a perfect split for three people. I really enjoyed the salmon tartare and the octopus for the tapas. I would have love for more options with vegetables since all their veges are fried. Make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as they are popular. Parking is very easy in the plaza the restaurant is in.

We walked over 50 minutes later and were seated right away. Service was great. We got the Wagyu empanadas to start. Small bites but busts of flavor. The Barca sauce really stood out. We had the traditional sangria and the Carrot cocktail - odd but delicious. We shared the steak and lobster paella. Pricy at almost $200 but it was amazing. Enough to feed 4 so we both gave a second meal to go. The one small rub was the automatic 20% service charge. I understand for larger patties but apparently this is across the board. The should make it clear. Service was great and I probably would have tipped around that but was annoyed that there was no choice in the matter. Regardless I want to come back and try more tapas and cocktails. It was fun.

We came for a friend's birthday with a party of 10 and did the $75/person prix fixe tasting menu. Food: The tapas were definitely the highlight for us and probably our favorite part of the meal. For the mains, we had three paellas served family-style with pretty generous portions. The squid ink paella was our favorite, followed by the chicken and pork. The noodle-style paella was our least favorite. Overall, we thought the tapas were better than the mains. Dessert was okay. The cheesecake was verrrrry cheesy and yes, I know it's cheesecake lol but the cheese flavor was especially strong and savory. Service: Unfortunately, this is where the experience fell short. The birthday girl had a friend who recently dined here and was offered an unlimited beer and sangria option with their prix fixe menu. When we asked our waitress about it, she wasn't familiar with it and checked with the GM, who said he had never heard of such an option. My friend reached out to the previous guest, who found the email correspondence with the restaurant confirming that the option had been offered. While trying to show our waitress, three of us said "excuse me" to get her attention while she was at our table, but she continued handing out drinks without acknowledging us. We understand she was working, but even a quick "I'll be right with you" would have been appreciated. Once we showed her the email, she brought the GM over. After looking at it, he repeatedly emphasized, "YOU didn't respond to us," referring to the fact that there was no response confirming the drink option. The weird part was... it wasn't even our email. The correspondence was between the restaurant and a completely different guest from a previous dinner. We were only showing it because we had just been told that this drink option had never existed. The GM eventually said they could accommodate us, which we appreciated, but the delivery felt unnecessarily defensive and passive-aggressive. We weren't demanding the package or expecting them to honor an old offer--we were simply trying to clarify what we had been told. A simple, "Sorry for the confusion! We see what you're referring to and can accommodate you," would have completely changed the interaction. Unfortunately, the way such a small misunderstanding was handled changed the mood of the dinner and took away from my friend's birthday celebration. There were definitely good parts of the meal, especially the tapas and squid ink paella, but the communication and management experience overshadowed what could have otherwise been a great night.

Ambiance - The Old Water Office is beautifully decorated with a nice interior and a pretty outdoor area too. We sat outdoors and thankfully the weather was kind to us too. Food - The food was great. I got the surf and turf paella which was very good. For some reason mine did not have mussels like the menu stated, unsure if that was an oversight or maybe just a slight modification from the chef. Everyone else seemed to really like their food too. Short ribs got high praise along with the pork milanese. Their pasta is made in-house and looked wonderful too. All things considered, I'd give this meal a solid 4.5 stars which rounds up with the ambiance and service being great. I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
