Croquetas de Seta y Trufa
Julie T.

We wanted to eat some tapas and since it was Mother's Day weekend we knew a lot of places would be packed or full booked. Searching yelp brought us here and I'm glad they did. Everything we ate was really tasty and was blown away. Service was amazing and the ambiance was cool and relaxing. Here's what we ordered for 2 of us: Paella de Pulpo y Vieiras $54 (4/5) Very flavorful paella with clams, octopus, scallops and calamari. The rice had a deep seafood flavor and was enough for 2 of us. Croquetas de Setas Y Trufa $12 (5/5) You get 4 and it is sooooo super creamy truffle flavor with oyster mushroom. Can't go wrong with this. This was one of the best things there. Pistachio cheesecake (5/5) OMG DED the server recommended this and I'm glad he did. I've never had a cheesecake so creamy and on top of that pistachio flavor. Paired with a bottle of Corriente washed it all down and felt so good! I would definitely come back to try more dishes for sure.

Second visit here, this time for the food! It's tapas style, which I love. Everything was on point from the service to the dishes. Our waiter let us sample some of the wines before selecting a bottle. I was a big fan of the octopus, clams, and truffle croquettes. We chose the cozy outdoor seating. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded. They even sang happy birthday to my friend, with a wig and everything lol.

Fun restaurant for catching up in small groups. Heavy on the salt, but flavorful and the portions are classic tapas (small enough to enjoy several dishes, even if only 2 people). Could stand to have a different waiter. He was VERY pushy to order a paella and more drinks. Service dropped off when we "only" ordered 2 mocktails and no paella. It wasn't busy enough to warrant that, I don't think. Sigh. Where to sit: On a warm day, I recommend sitting on the patio: it can get both loud and stuffy inside.

Paella de Mariscos

Cocktail was outstanding, food was good, service was sloooooow and largely absent. We were seated quickly upon arriving for our reservation, waiter arrived to take our order and then we sat for 18 minutes with not even water on our table. Waiter reappeared after this long absence to let us know our paella was cooking and our drinks were on the way and...several more minutes passed before a carafe of water arrived. Not sure why the delay, at this point there were just 6 occupied tables and 15 total diners in the house including us. I don't normally sit around in restaurants counting individual diners so that might give the reader some context of how long we were left waiting. The experience picked up once our cocktails and food arrived. The Valencia Sour cocktail was absolutely delicious and we especially liked the hamburguesas sliders, they were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The sauce accompanying the Pulpo tapas was oddly flavorless. The Paella de Mariscos was small but flavorful and had a nice balance of socarrat to creamy rice. Oddly when our food was served the carafe of water was taken away and our tiny water glasses (~8oz) were not refilled for the duration of our meal. This was challenging as most of the dishes were on the salty side. Another 20 minutes passed after our table was cleared before a waiter who wasn't our waiter noticed us sitting there looking forlorn (and desperately thirsty) and asked if we were doing OK. I don't make a practice of asking another table's waiter for assistance but given that our own waiter hadn't visited our table since the cocktail was delivered, I asked for our check. Another ~5 minutes passed, Not-Our-Waiter passed by again and I again asked for the check. Our original waiter reappeared at last with the check and expressed disappointment we were not ordering dessert: we both wanted dessert but were afraid ordering it would trigger another lengthy wait. I honestly do not know what was up with our waiter, I saw her buzzing around the dining area attending to other tables but not ours. The restaurant was well staffed and tables around us were getting ample attention, it was a very uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience to feel singled out for minimal service. The food is maybe (a big maybe) worth coming back for a second visit to see if we just caught service on an off night but I'll need to remember to block out a lot of time just in case and bring a bottle of water. My dining companion doesn't want to return due to the slow service.

So so so happy to have a Spanish tapas restaurant close to home! This could be dangerously convenient. I might want to come here for various special occasions moving forward! I definitely recommend the Pulpo here! Cooked with a nice char and SCRUMPTIOUS potato puree with a tiny millefeuille. I highly recommend this to share. What a great starter. The Jamón Ibérico has a steep price of $32, but we just HAD to order it since it's one of my favorites. This is just fatty savory goodness served with a few crackers. Get this with the Pan Tumaca to make more filling! The star of the show was the Paella de Mariscos of course. The rice was soooo saucy and full of flavor! It was impressive how much was packed into the rice without it becoming salty. The paella was not crispy, but I didn't mind it. Very hearty! My only gripe was the reservation system... We arrived on time for Valentine's Day and still had to wait 20-30 minutes to get seated WITH A RESERVATION. But the staff were super nice and accomodating, so it was worth the wait!

Croquetas de seats y turfa (Mushroom croquettes)
Tina A.

It's wonderful to have a high quality Spanish restaurant in our neighborhood! The restaurant itself has been transformed into a vibrant and sleek space, where you can instantly relax and enjoy your meal. We tried a variety of dishes and were very impressed with all of our choices. The Croquetas de Jamon were especially tasty with a creamy béchamel sauce, salty Serrano ham & golden fried crust. The Croquetas de seats y turfa (mushroom croquettes) were equally delicious and a great vegetarian option. As an artichoke fan, The Flor de Alcachofa (Artichoke Hearts) with the creamy burrata sauce was another decadent vegetarian option. The Ensalada de Pera, an arugula salad with a cheese dressing, pear, raisins & cherry tomatoes was refreshing and balanced our meal out, but I did feel that the walnuts were not as fresh as they could be! The star of the show was the Pan con Sobrasada, which was a soft Iberico chorizo spread with a side of thick honey and crisp bread. This simply blew us away! This was probably one of our favorite dishes! We also really enjoyed the Papas Braviolis, which we forgot to take a picture of, because we immediately dived in! The Pulpo (grilled octopus) was beautifully presented on a a bed of bright orange sweet potato puree & is a treat for seafood fans, as is the Lubina a la Donostiarra (whole grilled branizino) which was buttery soft and flavorful. And last but not least I have to mention our amazing server, Tina! She made us all feel so welcome and relaxed, was extremely knowledgable about the menu & made excellent recommendations! Thank you Tina! We really enjoyed our meal at Puerta del Sol and will be back!

Never coming back here. The food was flavorful, albeit way too salty. Service is good but nothing exceptional or not to be expected. Their prices are ridiculous and their business practices are insulting. The main reasons I'm giving 3 stars: Firstly, as my party began sitting down our server just asked if we want still or sparkling and did not mention how much it was. It also wasn't on the menu. I've been to places where still water is included so I be right maybe this was the case here also if the price isn't on the menu. Maybe I'm just naive, but still a shady business practice. We did start asking for tap halfway through our meal only after unknowingly incurring $40 extra to our bill just from 4 bottles of still. Second, the food is very salty. It was also inconsistently salty. Their cured meats were quite good, but everything else just made me want to wash down the salt with water. I could barely taste the salsa on the scallops. It's a shame because the ingredients seemed like they were cooked well and are fresh. Third the prices are crazy. $50 for a paella that's probably enough for maybe 1.5 people is a bit crazy. Our server also recommended 3 tapas + 1 paella per 2 people... That's just overkill. The kicker is there's a 20% tip to parties 6 or more (keep in mind your not getting exceptional service or anything is just what your would normally expect) AND a 4% card fee. Finally, there's an option for "socarrat" if you want the crispy rice at the bottom of your paella, and of course course we chose yes; It's one of the best parts of paella in my opinion. And of course when when all the paellas arrive the texture is basically like a risotto ZERO soccarat. If you're going to charge us basically 25% more on top of our meal, at least make an effort with you food. *Edit: I just realized they calculated our tax on top of the tip too. Minus one more star. This place is just egregious.

Amazing eatery! Great selection of tapas and wine. A nice patio area that's enjoyable during the day. We got a few different dishes and everything was absolutely amazing! Rich flavors and unique combinations. Our server was so kind and welcoming, would definitely come back for more.

Another local hit! We live in the neighborhood and love having delicious Spanish food available! The restaurant is cute and cozy! The service is outgoing and friendly. We're thinking of the days we can come back and enjoy their patio because whew! The night we went it was freezing and eveeytine that door opened it was chilly! I dont know how folks closer to the door were making it through the night! We had the sabrosada and the jamon and the pulpo as appetizers. Though we did enjoy the ribeye paella, I do wish we had done the seafood instead. Honestly, I coulda done with a vegetarian paella because it is the filling and that flavorful! For dessert, which we regretted because we were full, was the church's with dipping chocolate and that was delicious too! Just wish we could've finished ;) We cannot wait to come back!

I love tapas and was excited to try this place! Decor was simple; yet, beautiful. Servers were warm and welcoming. The was good but there are some notes. We ordered: Paella negra (too salty) Burgers (the kids didn't enjoy the spread that was on there) Paella valenciana, which was not entered in by the server (we were thinking it was just taking longer) Pulpo (could've been more tender) Passion Island mocktail (the kids loved it) Unsure if we'll be back and at least we gave it a chance.

Tapa the Line Newish Spanish Tapas restaurant located at the former Sweet Rendezvous Ice Cream shop (RiP) at the Sunrise Plaza Shopping Center. Locally-owned, their Spanish Madrid-born head chef, José Acosta, has some Michelin creds, having worked in and trained under three Michelin-starred Spanish chefs (Dabiz Muñoz [DiverXO], Ricard Camarena [Habitual], and Iván Cerdeño [Florida Beach]) through his career. I chose them for my belated birthday dinner with my family and it was a great decision! The Good: *Yelp Waitlist and Reservations via the Yelp app, also available. *Large shared parking lot *Dog-friendly outdoor seating *Interior space and décor is very ornate and beautiful. *Friendly service *Full bar (see "The Ugly" below) *Papas Braviolas were friggin' fantastic. The taters were double-fried and crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, and the concomitant smoky Bravas sauce was deliciously smoky. *My picky son really loved his pan-seared Branzino (Lubina a la Donostiarra), as he wolfed it down before his old man could take a taste. =/ *Carissa loved her grilled chicken thigh skewers (Pintxos de Pollo Morunos) as she stated they were grilled perfectly and full of flavor. *The Torrija con Helado is the national dessert of Spain, and it's easy to see why. It's basically the best French toast you've ever had: custardy, not too sweet, and nice a hit of cinnamon to make this cinnaholic happy. *The rest of us split some of their Paellas and they too were excellent, except evidently we forgot to ask for the Soccarat (see below), but otherwise they were both very tasty. I will say if you're not a fan of fishy flavor, then skip the seafood paella (Paella de Mariscos) as the shrimp broth was quite fishy tasting, which I didn't mind but some might. The Meh: *I'm really not sure why you have to **ASK** for the Socarrat (crispy rice on the bottom) on your paella; it's not technically a paella if it doesn't have it. I'm really not sure who they're dumbing it down for? They should die on that hill like the Soup N@zi: "No Soccarat--then no Paella for you! Go!" The Ugly: *Upon our visit, there was some kind of issue with their liquor license so they could only offer up mocktails at the time. Hopefully, this has been rectified by now. Conclusion: Fantastic authentic Spanish cuisine, which can be very difficult to find. Highly recommended.

We walked in during a slow time so we were seated right away. Service was on point, drinks and food ordered pretty quickly. Wine and mocktail were decent. Appetizers weren't bad, had octopus and potatoes. Potatoes were good, octopus (pulpo) a bit tough and chewy, wouldn't order again. Took quite a bit of time to receive paella but it was good. Unfortunately, the restaurant got busy and the service lacked. If you weren't ordering drinks, your weren't getting water. :/ We spent $150 and left thirsty, I was driving and didn't want to drink too much alcohol. Food and drinks were good, we might return.

This review is for my visit on 09/17/2025. My low rating is entirely directed to the quality of service here. My first complaint is that my waiter was not transparent about menu item prices. When ordering the paella negra, the waiter really pushed us to get "additional seafood toppings" and that we could "mix and match all the seafood that we wanted", while dodging the question of how much extra it would cost us and also dodging the question of what seafood the paella came with. Additionally, I cannot help but notice that all the Chinese people were seated on one side of the restaurant and all the caucasian people were seated on the other. I really wish I had taken a photo to capture this because this is not ok. I really enjoyed the paella and the pulpo - hats off to the chef. The pan tumaca was very greasy though - not sure if that's just personal preference. The interior of the place is very cute too.

Ginger beer passion fruit, lime and ss mocktail. Pretty . On the sweet side.

The people who work here have always been so kind and attentive when it came to service. I love their outdoor area as it's in the heart of Campbell, the interior design is also very modern & sophisticated. I've never had a bad experience here so far. They were both tasty because it's hard to go wrong with an umami ingredient like pate but if I really think about it, both of these dishes were things anyone could throw together. There wasn't any special seasoning made by the restaurant or anything. For entrees, we ordered the Paris by night truffle lover bifteak (filet mignon with truffle cheese on sweet potato) which was just okay. We ordered medium rare but the entire thing was a bit chewy and slightly dry. Could taste the truffle on the Parmesan cheese when alone but not when eaten with the sweet potato. The Persian saffron gheymeh lamb ossobuco (lamb shank with stew and dill basmati rice) was delicious though! Lamb was incredibly tender and savory and the spiced split-pea saffron stew went well with the fluffy rice. We'll probably return to try the recommended cod and tiramisu because overall it was pretty good.

I think traditionally, you need reservations for Cielo, but their Winter Experience (ran through December and mid-January) is first-come, first-served. The Winter Experience is a Christmas-themed set-up - very tastefully and beautifully decorated - with Christmas music (even 2 weeks after the New Year). the tables along the edge have small in-table fire pits AND a tall heated furnace - you will not be cold in December. these tables do require a minimum spend of $50 per person, which we came into this expecting that regardless - however, it sounds like you can sit at any of the other tables without this minimum spend, though you will only have a blanket for warmth. the sunset was beautiful, though keep in mind that we do live in a city, and there are other tall buildings around, so don't set your expectations too high. Overall, we are so happy we finally checked this place out, and that we were able to do so during the Winter Experience. We did find it overpriced (considering it's at Hotel Valencia... we weren't surprised) for what you get.
