The whole setup and atmosphere reminded me so much of the small soba restaurants I visited in Japan and added to how authentic the experience felt. I ordered the Tenzaru Soba with Omakase Tempura and was genuinely impressed. The soba portion was incredibly generous, and I left very full. The noodles were some of the most authentic soba I've had in California, and I ate every last bit. Everything felt simple, carefully made, and satisfying. Parking is street parking only, but we were able to find a spot nearby and walk over. I would absolutely come back to Sobakatsu, just with the expectation that there may be a wait.

The second day I got chicken. All of it was super tender. It was absolutely delicious. I wasn't planning to eat all the noodles, but I did and no regrets.
