Amazing food & drinks! Haven't been in a while and recently got some takeouts from What The Cluck - Haight. Everything was delicious. The Classic Khao Man Gai is always a winner. The Crispy Chicken (Khao Man Gai Tot) was surprisingly good also. Tasted like a chicken katsu and goes so well with the garlic rice. We also indulged in mango with sweet sticky rice which is something I hardly ordered but it was delicious, too. The veggie spring rolls were crispy and the Thai iced tea quite nice. Also got a small order of extra chicken thigh meat for the fur ball (photo not shown). Solid place for lunch and/or dinner. Location on Haight and Shrader.

I only got the mango sticky rice and the chicken skins, but so far so good. Chicken skins were large, crispy, fatty, delicious. Mango sticky rice was warm and not too sweet. Only downside is that the place looks pretty run-down. It looked like it was ready to close, which doesn't make me feel like I'd visit again.

    "Chicken sandwich"

Bad. Just bad. Everything. Atmosphere, service and food. The so called "chicken sandwich" that basically was a piece of undercooked fried chicken with some sauce and two cold burger buns. That was passive aggressively throw my way by a the only grumpy employee. And that is for $14 (!!!). Beyond ridiculous. Stay away and go to some other place on Haight.

Stumbled upon this hole in the wall spot for a quick bite. I was amazed by how they can make simple chicken and rice taste so good. Definitely a place that deserves more recognition. The chicken, rice and soup just hits the spot and is a good comfort food. Would come back to try other items.

$18 for chicken over rice is not cheap; but you do get a decently hefty portion. The chicken wasn't too dry and the rice is flavorful, but the soup broth was a bit too salty. It's a small storefront, and they have a little bit a bar seating. It hit the spot for a craving but don't know if I'd come back again given the price point.

Pricey for very little food. It was around ~$16 to $17 dollars for very little food. In addition, my soup was not sealed properly so it spilled. The proportions were very little for the price and the rice was somewhat dry and the sauce did not go super well with the chicken. In addition, there were no utensils provided and there was no option to ask. I was in a rush when getting this food and was lucky there were utensils in my car. Parking was somewhat easy as there is street parking in nearby neighborhoods. However, it can be difficult with the amount of traffic present.

Delicious Thai chicken spot for easy lunch or dinner. The broth included is delicious. Love the seasoned rice as well. I love the convenient location on Haight too. Perfect addition to the neighborhood.

The chicken here is incredible. Authentic Taiwanese soul food. The soy paste sauce is the perfect blend of garlic and spice. I basically inhaled this meal. The chicken broth soup was the perfect side. The actual location is a bit small so seating might be difficult, and it's better for takeout. Great to stop by for a quick bite in the Haight. Highly recommend!

Ordered the what da cluck party set from this place. I have to say it's so scammy what they charge you for. It says it feeds 4 to 5 people, but they're lucky if this feeds three. The send basically two orders worth of chicken. And then four rice and four soups, as if that'll fill up 5 people. I think the thing that pissed me off the most, was how they made it look like you got more chicken than you actually get since they stick the chicken on a bunch of uncooked spinach. Im sure they do this because they know what a sad amount of chicken they send, so they need to make it look like they're not ripping you off. I mean I know it's San Francisco prices, and I already expected minimal portion sizes since I've eaten here before but my god this is just pathetic. At this point go boil some chicken yourself at home and save yourself the disappointment and bitterness. I put a picture in of the chicken amount for reference. I pretty much never write reviews, and I certainly never take photos, but I literally was so pissed and felt like I got scammed so badly that before eating I took photos just so I could show everyone how sad this is. That's half the chicken in the box and the other half in the lid.

Classic (Khao Man Gai) that comes with soup, $11.95

Every bite and sip was delicious. We ordered family style and shared everything. The service was also fantastic, even though we got there late and didn't realize until the food was beginning to come out that it was last call, our server and all the other workers that came by were all so friendly and made us feel welcome. We ate quickly and boxed the rest so they could get home. What we ordered: Tom Kha soup - coconutty, creamy, a lil sour and a lil spice. Delicious. Fresh rolls - crisp and springy with lots of greens and tofu and a good peanut sauce to dip. Crispy pork belly sweet basil - the CRISP and flavor of this pork belly was to die for. Chicken larb - this was my favorite dish of the night. Heavy basil/herbs, just a little kick from the chilies, full on flavor explosion. I will be thinking of this dish for a long time haha. Beef Pad See Ew - chewy in the most delicious and favor packed way. Love pad see ew and this one was great! Pad cha scallop - Came out sizzling on a cast iron! This dish was fun and the scallops while small, were fresh and had lots of flavor. And finally, for dessert we ordered the black rice durian. It was all three of us' first time trying Durian and we loved it! Creamy and a little funky but the black rice and sauce emphasized its natural sweetness. Thank you to everyone at Saap Ver for adding to my besties birthday happiness! Can't wait to come back.

The inside of the restaurant was quite lively, even though it was pretty early in the evening. The decorations were very colorful, and the atmosphere felt lively. Service was fine, but the food did take awhile to get to us. We ended up ordering crispy pork, duck curry, pad thai, and fried rice (sorry don't remember which fried rice in particular). I think the pad thai and fried rice were a bit light in flavor, but the curry and crispy pork were really yummy! The duck curry kinda took me by surprise because of the lychee haha I wish the portions were bigger, but great taste.

The crispy spring rolls were cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. The clear noodles and veggies were so yummy. The ahi scoops had the best seaweed salad on it that I have EVER had, the wasabi cream on top was the show stopper, and I don't even like wasabi 5/5. The interior is well decorated with Thai culture and with the darker tones of the design, it makes the restaurant feel quite fancy. 4.5/5 - Crispy Pork (Moo Krop) Fried Rice - Very savory fried rice dish. Spiced well and very filling. We didn't expect the pork to be cut so large and mixed into the rice, but it was very tender and easy to still eat. We would've expected the pork to be sliced maybe in half or fourths to make the dish feel like a "pork fried rice" than a fried rice + pork mix, but it still worked well and if you love pork, this will definitely be your fix! 5/5 - Pad Thai - We thought the restaurant nailed this classic noodle dish. Filling portions and did not overcook their noodles. You can taste each component of the dish, which speaks to everything not being under or overcooked. We ordered nuts on the side but you would be quite satisfied ordering this if you like pad thai! 4.5/5 - Pad Gra Prow - Appropriate veggie to beef proportion and very flavorful. Minced well and great to complement with your carb dishes (noodle or rice). We thought the dish was slightly oily but it feels well absorbed when eaten with our pad thai. If you have tried the dish before and would like it, this will be satisfactory!
