Pizza was good, seems like the only business in town and they know it so prices are high. Kinda of a tourist trap in that respect. I guess their focus is the people going to the lake and back. Came to pick up a online order and the 5 kids hanging out behind the register didn't even say hello to me or my son. Just said, Name... Then one got our pies from the back and just kinda tossed them on the counter in front of us and walked away without a word. I understand, I was a teenager awhile back. I'm a real Jersey Italian borne & bred by real Italian immigrants who cooked everything from scratch. I'm to understand the owners from Italy. The Sicilian pizza, burgers/fries & mushrooms, all excellent! Service is terrible awful; bathroom disgusting & stunk bad; some attitudes NEED ADJUSTING Papa!! However, I'm going to say the food outshines the bad there. I'm giving it 3 stars because we love the food. The rest is in dior need of repair replacement AND RESPECTO!!! read more

My husband and I knew of the restaurant but never got around to going, until recently. For a belated birthday lunch, we came to Papas Pizzeria and we were not disappointed at all! The staff were very kind and accommodating to us, and oh my! the food was Amazing! Our server was such a sweetheart! When we left, our hearts and stomachs were quite satisfied. 15 hungry MARYVILLE COLLEGE fans rolled in here on a Friday night after kicking Ferrums behind. Our girl had Double Double vs multiply bad attitudes. Prob gonna haunt one of them the rest of the year. We called ahead and they saved us a large table in the outdoor enclosed area. Thanks for that! We ordered about $200 worth of pizza and let me tell you not one of us said anything but Wow! What perfect pie. Authentic Italians know how to make em. We had everything from veggie to all meat to pineapple and ham. My brother and I crushed one of 4 all meat pies and our hearts wanted more but our stomachs said no way. The staff is very nice and friendly, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the food. It's greasy, unseasoned and takes a toll on the stomach. The pizza is a hit or miss, sometimes it's really good for the price and others it's just disappointing. The homemade ranch is top tier but the cupcakes are dry and over priced. I found it pretty humorous that this place has a bar on the patio, plus a dance floor and...oh there's a fenced in area for the kiddies to play in the corner! Kidding aside, this was a good place to stop for lunch the other day. You order a the counter and a server will bring your food out to you. Everyone was really nice. We ordered one of the specialty pizzas which I thought was so-so. My favorite part was the cupcakes! These babies were huge and delicious! I'm used to cupcake specialty stores in the DC area that charge almost $5 for a stinking cupcake. These tasted better, were much larger and only $1.95. Score. read more

Good food and excellent patio! On our first trip, we recommend the lasagna and the Bourbon Chicken. Portions are generous (buy a cupcake before you eat or you will be too full to want it once you are finished). The patio is very neat. It's large and comfortable and decorated as a sort of cross between a sports bar and a tikki bar. If there were such a thing as an American pub, this might be it. There is a small herb garden over to the side and one of the cooks came out to snip some basil while we were enjoying the patio. The Smith River runs behind the restaurant and you can look out at it from the patio. There is a fun mix of kitsch and comfort. They told us that they have karoake on Saturday nights. read more

We got take-out from this restaurant during our trip to Fairy Stone State Park. The pizzas were delicious and the Special Pizza was loaded with toppings. I did have to drive around the parking lot about 3 times before I could park my car. The place was packed on Saturday night. It was apparently Karaoke night. I was greeted by some lively locals on my way in to pick up my order. Seems like a fun crowd! Wish we would have discovered this place a little earlier during our stay. Everything at Papa's is amazing! The pizza, lasagna, bourbon chicken, subs, salads, boneless buffalo bites and the BEST homemade ranch dressing ever! This is a small, hometown, family business with a big flavor. There's a large room for get togethers and a large patio that's enclosed in the winter and open in the spring/summer. There's family friendly karaoke every Friday night on the patio. They also have a buffet on Friday night and Sunday for lunch. This is an Italian restaurant owned by an Italian family. However, they have the best hamburger steak I've ever eaten. They have burgers, grilled chicken, fish, etc. And it's all incredible! read more
