This store is in a prime location by farmers market which is why I think it's still in business. Paper stores like Papyrus have gone by the wayside even dating before COVID. There's stuff besides paper products here, mostly gag gifts and related stuff like books, mugs, planners, etc. You're bound to find something in here but it'll cost ya. I am aware brick and mortar shops have to charge more but I do kinda expect someone to acknowledge me while I'm in the store if that's the case. Oh well. Might've just missed the one customer who planned on writing a review. I like the selection but can't see paying twenty bucks for a pack of ten cards. Yes they're cute, but everyone is suffering in this economy. I might as well just buy ten individual greeting cards at that price. There's markups and then there's just too expensive. This spot is too expensive to me. I hope it stays in business but I just don't have the extra dough for non necessities. As long as they are in Grand Tourist Station district they'll be ok without me.

    Wrapped Christmas Present

I was looking for a place to wrap my Christmas presents so I went to Paper Source. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. They had a great selection of wrapping paper and ribbons. I would consider it a great value pick if you're low on time. They had my gift wrapped within the hour. Very convenient. Overall great experience!!

The coolest wrapping paper ever - for $3.50 a sheet it better be!

Props to the uber friendly lady who put up with my mums anti-holiday attitude today. Haha nothing says Christmas to my mother like "I hate the whole thing, but I had an aunt send me a really bitchy card this year; so I figured that I have to deal with this shit." Well, I am a lot more festive than her. I love the whole Christmas thing, the whole Chanukah thing, the whole anything that will get me a present! The wrapping paper in this store is amazing. I wish I could have it all. Seriously. Cute little owl wrapping paper, delectable baby shower wrapping paper, and for my dad - beer themed wrapping paper! haha it was great!! The only downside is once you've spend the money on all the cute wrapping paper and artsy fartsy cards you have like no money left to buy a gift lol!

Park in the Gilmore Station lot, one hour free with validation.

Walk in here and you can smell the ambition, acrylic, and caffeine. It's like stepping into a time capsule where brushes still matter, ink still stains, and creativity doesn't come with a subscription fee. The value here and the prices were super reasonable. I came here with my draftsman, a guy who still draws by hand -- a dying breed in a world that runs on Ctrl+Z. Watching him walk these aisles was like watching a monk in a cathedral. Every shelf, every pen, every tube of paint is curated chaos. And the best part? The staff actually care. They know the difference between gouache and watercolor -- and they don't judge you for mispronouncing it. Friendly service, clean restrooms (a small miracle in Los Angeles), and a selection so deep it could inspire Picasso's ghost to start over. From sketchbooks to sculpting tools, markers to mat cutters, they've got everything you need to make something real -- or at least look like you tried. Blick's been around since 1911, and this Beverly Blvd location has kept L.A.'s art scene supplied through every phase -- from punk flyers to NFT hangovers. It's an institution, and it deserves to stay that way. Blick Art Materials is a love letter to real art in a copy-paste world. The service is friendly, the aisles are inspiring, and the supplies are top-notch. If you make anything with your hands, your heart, or even just a stubborn sense of nostalgia -- support this place. Because when shops like this vanish, so does a little bit of the soul of Los Angeles. Support this place -- or someday the only "art supplies" left will be ring lights. Blick is where real artists shop while influencers pretend to paint.

Filming is welcome (a plus for capturing memories!), and parking is free right out front. Just note: the lot is pretty small, so I recommend arriving early to snag a spot. Our instructor was super informative and made sure to spend time with everyone in the class, walking us through every step of the process. It was hands-on and beginner-friendly, which made it all the more enjoyable. The only downside is the wait bc our finished bowls took about 6-8 weeks to be ready after shaping them on the wheel. But honestly, it was worth it--they turned out beautifully :')

However, the pricing structure is poorly communicated. The board clearly lists "Phone Holder - $20" under Decoden Art, with no size descriptions or visual distinctions. Based on that, we reasonably assumed the bunny phone stand we selected fell under that category -- because it is, in fact, a phone holder. Even the staff member assisting us was under the same impression. We spent several hours decorating our items based on the $20 price we were told. Only after we finished were we informed that our item was actually $45, and that the $20 "phone holder" supposedly refers to a much smaller grip-style piece. That distinction is not explained anywhere on the pricing board. There is also a "Phone Holder with Key Chain" listed, yet our item did not match that description either, which makes the pricing even more confusing. While the staff were understanding about the confusion, the manager refused to honor the price that was communicated to us and stated that our only options were to pay $45 or leave the item behind. There was no attempt to meet us halfway or acknowledge that the signage itself is unclear. If you're going to advertise pricing, it needs to be clearly defined. This situation could have been avoided entirely with proper labeling and better management handling.
