Paper Tiger Bar had a cool vibe, but it was surprisingly empty for a Friday at 10 PM, only about three people were there. I ordered a shot, and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. We didn't stay long, though, since the place was so quiet. Decent spot, but not much energy when I visited. read more

The food was excellent!! I liked my loco moco I shared with my sister. It was so cool! I got to see my sister, dj karebear perform for the first time at paper tiger bar! It was such a great experience! The staff and the owner were so kind and so sweet!! The bar itself is pretty cool and the music there was fire!! The pineapple mule was definitely !! So good!! I can't wait to come back!! The place was super nice and they had some soda/ chairs seating and also they have dj sets every weekend nights. Yay! read more

This bar is soooo underrated; I need to give them their flowers because this is the only bar in Koreatown that exceeded my expectations. In the corner of Beverly and Western, nestled in the heart of Koreatown, Paper Tiger bar awaits you to join their party, which I think is a great experience. The drinks are relatively cheap compared to other bars located in Koreatown (brass monkeys and Biergarten just to name a few). This bar plays amazing music! I loved the DJ this past Friday night, who also happens to be the owner of the bar as well. I was chatting with one of the bartenders named (Landon?). He was sweet and attentive! He made me feel safe AND welcomed, which is VERY rare and something most bartenders in Koreatown bars lack! He also let me know that Paper Tiger Bar has a kitchen, and they offer Hawaiian cuisine available for purchase to their guests. I can't wait to come back to try it but for the meanwhile I'll be raving and recommending this place to anyone who wants to have a good time out!! read more

This place is so cool! I love the ambience, service, and drinks! I came on a Thursday night so it was a bit dead but that was fine as I was able to find street parking easily! I heard it definitely does get busier during the weekend nights so I'll definitely be back! Parking is only street and metered so it definitely isn't easy on most days especially in the heart of ktown. The workers are super super friendly. We were recommended the purple rain and bleuet. Both were blueberry flavored and delicious! I personally liked the bleuet better as it was more refreshing with the mint flavor but both are great choices! Drinks are around $13-15 so it's decently priced! They also have plenty of seating and a live dj! Overall it's definitely a bar to try out if you're in the area! Paper Tiger Bar is one of my favorite bars in KTown. The venue is overall an incredible vibe and the music selection on weekends is great with mainly current hip-hop playing. Fun little bar in Ktown. Came here on Halloween and it was pretty empty early on. We were able to get a table and some seating and ordered a bunch of drinks from the bar. When it started to get more crowded, the dance floor got really busy and the DJ was spinning some pretty good mix of new and old songs. The drinks were delicious and I stuck to a pineapple mule. Light and refreshing. The ambiance is also this nice low light library museum kind of feel. They even had a spot to take automatic selfies. Best part was there was no cover and the bathrooms weren't disgusting! read more

We had a fantastic time at Paper Tiger Bar, the bartenders are very attentive, the cocktails nice and stiff not to mention the wonderful ambiance! One could easily miss Paper Tiger Bar, it is situated in a kitty corner by Beverly and Western the stark facade of this place does not justify the lovely interior. They have an assortment of cocktail bites, the corn fritters and fries particularly go well with their many cocktail offerings. I stuck with the Pineapple Mule during our visit, it was delicious and definitely something I recommend. Overall, I really like this place and would definitely visit again. Cheers! read more

Talk about don't judge a book by it cover! From the outside I did not expect it to look as nice as it does on the inside. It is small so not a lot of place for seating. GIRLS NIGHT OUT! This was second and final stop. Coming off from another spot, our party of five wanted to have one last round of drinks before we call the night. We all got ID'd, got our drinks and just lounged, really. This is my kind of place to just chill after an active night. I celebrated my birthday there last weekend with a big group of friends. We had a great time. We ordered their sliders and tacos and they were all really good. The drinks were yummy. The only negative was the DJ didn't take any song requests. But the music was pretty good for the most part. Overall, the owner, the waiters , the bar tenders and the overall ambiance were great. This place is smaller than I expected, but still cool. When it fills up after 10 pm, the bar area gets jam packed with thirsty humans. Two k-pop-y Asian dudes walk in and one of them, with a backwards cap, says, "It's too crowded! Someone's gonna step on my shoes!" His friend says, "Ok, I'll walk in front of you, just follow me," and tries to lead his friend to the bar. Backwards cap takes a few steps forward and cries, "I can't do this s**t, man!" and backs out of the crowd looking down at his shoes. I was standing by them listening with utter amusement the whole time and when backwards cap looked up at me after escaping the crowd, I laughed really hard, which made him frown and walk away to stand by the wall. I looked at his shoes and they were just black Adidas Superstars. Black! I would have understood if they were white Yeezys or something. The bartenders move so fast you can barely see their hands, so props to them. Parking is pretty tough around here, if you're lucky there are some free spots after hours on Western and the neighborhood streets. I'd say Uber it, especially if you're drinking. Some of my friends hanging with me were cops and they joked that they were waiting to follow drunk people to their cars to pull them over. read more

So we're the Wontons (chili oil is spicy but worth it), tuna tar tar so fresh and light, and can never go wrong with the lobster ragoons ! I thought I would like this place from the sound of it, a cool cocktail lounge with different themed rooms. We got in through the door all right and headed to the bar. Saturday night so understandably crowded. I wanted to get a cocktail but wasn't offered a menu so figured it was better off just getting my bourbon neat. So, there's really only two rooms, the first one closest to the bar is really just a few couches and it's pretty popular because it's where you can kind of be heard without yelling. The second room was mainly a dance floor, sure there was some seating on the periphery but that was all taken up and with the music blaring in there there's basically nothing else to do but dance. I'm really not one to dance though and at this point, the residual tinnitus isn't worth it. read more

Bar is wide but it takes some time to get your drink because they specialize in cocktails. Plenty of bar stool seating around the bar table. 2) DJ area has booths across the whole wall. Many 2-4 seaters facing the DJ. And there are like 2 areas that could fit maybe 8-10people? They all have tables for your drinks. I'm going to give this place a 4 because it's in my neighborhood and I do frequent this place. The staff are cool and it's not a super pretentious feeling. They have 2 sides that at times are spacious or crowded (it varies). A good mix of different type of people, mostly a 20's crowd. If you enjoy hip hop music I would say it's one of the better bars in the area even though I feel they could play more current music (a lot of it is from the 2000's era). Drinks aren't cheap but I guess it's standard LA prices. I personally feel the mixed drinks are watered down and opt for drinking straight. The bartenders seem to be more heavy handed with shots than mixed drinks. I think it's not a bad choice for a good night out with friends. read more

SUPER cute and small little "dive" bar with deliciously amazing drinks. The decor is so cute, the music was vibing and the drinks.... sooo yummy. $12/$13 is a standard price for drinks ... but spending that amount here, I promise you that you won't mind paying that price, because they know how to cRaft them here. My Favorite thing here is the vintage gold mirror with J.Thaddeus Toad's reflection in the mirror. To all my Disney fanatics.... enjoy! Ps... don't forget to feel like Belle and the Beast and get a photo in front of the painted staircase wall. It looks kinda real, low key. It is a really tiny bar that I thought would be cool based off of the Yelp photos. It doesn't look super great in person, and I didn't really love the type of people that were coming to this bar. This girl was grinding up on my butt unintentionally and I gently tried to nudge her away (she was spilling my drink!!!) and then her friends tried to fight me. This spot holds a special place in my heart. I met my boyfriend here during a Singles Mixer planned by a Meetup group about 10 months ago (on St. Patrick's Day, haha). We came back last night since we hadn't been here since the first time we met, and it was just as we remembered. It is very dimly lit but with a lot of space - There is a bar, seating area and dance floor with a D.J. playing mostly hip hop music both times I was there. The drinks are all delicious! I got the Pineapple Mule, my boyfriend got the Cold Chango Paloma, and we shared the bag of fries - all very tasty. The bartenders are all very friendly and attentive. FYI, Parking was not too bad on a Friday night at 10pm - We found street parking pretty easily and walked in without any line or cover! Sat 9:30p, street parking. No line to get in. Was pretty empty at first but within an hour it filled up inside. We got drinks right away and the bartenders were nice and helpful. There's a cool Victorian vibe in the bar area with stools. Okay noise level to talk but prob not the best place for a long or serious convo to catch up with friends.
