Living five mins from this place is honestly a little dangerous. Pretty sure this is the best birria I've had in LA, and the fact that it's basically around the corner from me means self control is constantly being tested. I've been here a few times now and it has never missed. The OG burrito with birria is massive and easily shareable between two people, though you might be tempted to keep it all to yourself. The OG plate is also an awesome deal. You get a taco, quesataco, mulita, and quesadilla, and they're very generous with the meat which I always appreciate. Everything is so flavorful, juicy, and the consumè is one of the best. The staff here are super friendly and service is always great. Safe to say this spot has officially become a regular stop for me... for better or worse. read more

I got 10 tacos (5 birria, 5 chicken) loaded carne asada baked potato, birria burrito, chicken burrito, and churros. Every item was DELISH. Delish is an understatement. Chicken taco: not a chicken taco girl but theirs had SO much flavor and tasted smoky. Carne asada: I am *picky* with carne asada, but gosh they hit the nail with the flavor and smokiness to it! Not quite the experience I was hoping for. I ordered a taco, a quesotaco and consome. I have also ordered the OG Plate (Taco, Quesataco, Mulita, Quesadilla, Consome). Everything was fine, except fot the Mulita, which I did not care for. They have two different salsas, both of which are not very spicy (no salsa bar). Over all, the food is fine, but nothing I'm craving to try again. In addition, all the seating is outside and the service is not very friendly. I have been here on two separate visits, and both times, the service was cold and indifferent. Food service is a very tough job, so I know being friendly behind a counter isn't always easy, but would it hurt you to smile once in a while? Nevertheless, my overall experience was ok. read more

This was delicious. I got the OG plate with Birria, add avocado. You pretty much get to try everything and they put the consume in a little coffee cup- which is great because you'll wanna drink it. I can't figure out whether I liked the quesataco or the quesadilla better, I think I just like cheese.. the mulita was probably my least favorite, but it was still delicious. Papi's Tacos & Churros keeps Mexican classics very simple. They have birria, chicken, and carne asada, and all of their meats were very good. They are also halal - which was perfect since I stopped by here on a trip with a friend who eats only halal meat. I personally got two quesabirria tacos and a chicken taco while my friend got one taco for each meat. The tacos themselves are loaded, however, they are a bit small and pricey for my liking. The meat was juicy, marinated well, and the birria was nice and tender. The people working behind the counter were friendly, but I did notice that one of them was not really paying attention a couple times, so I did have to kind of wait for them to notice that I was there asking for a few items. We also tried their horchata, and it was watered down to me. I think the ice might've melted into it, but it just wasn't as strong as I prefer it to be. We also tried the churros with chocolate, and they were pretty good. As far as the restaurant itself, it's definitely a vibe. There are a lot of cars going down the street, so that threw off the ambiance a bit, but I'm sure this spot is best enjoyed at night. Either way, a solid spot for halal tacos. read more

Papi Tacos & Churros is pure Instagram hype. I tried it because of all the influencer posts, and honestly... it's not worth it. The prices are ridiculous, the staff is unfriendly, and the food was greasy and bland. Nothing tasted special, and everything felt rushed and careless. It's hard not to think the place is riding on social media clout rather than actual quality. Most of these influencers are straight-up pretending. This isn't some must-try taco spot--it's mediocre at best. I've had better street tacos for a fraction of the price. One and done. Not worth the hype. read more

Outdoor seating with fire to keep some of the tables warm. Kind staff. They were extremely busy on a Thursday night so it took a little while to get out to go order, but they kept things organized and it was totally worth the wait. The price is great and the quesatacos had incredible flavor. The salsa is delicious and the meat was amazing. SO GOOD I came here with two friends and here's what we ordered: - OG Burrito with beef (2x) - OG Plate - Churro with chocolate sauce I haven't always been a big fan of birria but this place really changed my mind. The consomne comes in paper hot cups + lids so it's really convenient to take to-go if you don't finish. Everything came out relatively quickly on trays and included a couple lime and radish slices. The outdoor seating patio is great and they even have heaters when it gets colder. The perfect area to enjoy your food and have a nice chat with friends. I was able to finish everything from the OG Plate order by myself.. I was either really hungry or it's just that good! The staff was friendly and the place was well maintained and clean. They even have a restroom located at the outside of the establishment. You just have to ask and they'll give you the key. read more

I recently relocated to the Hollywood area and have been reviewing local Grubberies. The staff here was Very friendly. The people pace is also Very clean. Outdoor dining - dog friendly, with a few tables on the patio. Plenty of parking as well as parking along Vine St. - be sure you check signs. The decor is apropos. The music is very good. They only serve 3 proteins - no chicken. I ordered a taco - steak taco. It was tasty. I also ordered a burrito. It was tasty but...needed something. Not sure what. I am definitely going back to taste a few other things including the churros. The price is fair. Nothing too expensive. The salsas were also delicious! Make this a spot you frequent.
