Since 2003, the brainchild of the husband-and-wife duo team, Albert and Yanick Ranieri, have opened this premier restaurant and martini bar located on Valley Street in South Orange. Upon entering and translating from the French, a "butterfly" insignia floated above the bar, illuminating the various hues of the 57 martini and specialty cocktails offered. The interior evoked a sophisticated and modern vibe, with the lighting being subtle. Reservations were made by one of our party members calling the restaurant yesterday for some of us as first-timers. Greeted by the host, a table was waiting for us. The menu merges American, Caribbean, French, and Italian cuisine, leaning toward Southern and Cajun-style dishes. As an appetizer, my partner, our friends and I decided on the corn and crab croquettes. For our main meal, we opted for Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp with Maryland Crab Meat, Jambalaya, Coq Au Vin, Organic Roasted Chicken Breast, and Linguine with Shrimp. A complimentary assortment of breads with butter started our meal, which some of us washed with French martini. The food was delicious, and the sauces were flavorful. However, there was a slight snafu with the wording of one of the items on the menu, which was brought to the manager's attention. Listed was organic roasted chicken breast served with caramelized carrots, but what was received was the breast with part of the wings and carrots not caramelized. The service was wonderful, and our server was Mohammed. It was a nice time spent, which we could recommend.

Great Friday night vibes with Valerie Adams and the band playing. The place was pretty packed the entire night. My bloody orange cosmo was great... the first time. Okay, the second time. But the third time..... it was even orange. Clearly, I had three different bartenders. I ordered the jerk chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies.. it was just okay. Felt like they basically Slattered the jerk sauce over pre made chicken to make it jerk. Bread pudding was sweet, but good

Nice atmosphere, food was a little underseasoned for me. Service was 5/10. Drinks were good!

Sidecar was smooth and slightly sweet. Nicky's Mango Martini is the bomb refreshing and strong. Coming back as the kitchen opens at noon.

Amazing martinis! Terdoo was an excellent host and crafty bartender. We are coming back for lunch as I've been told that the scallops are the best in the city. It's a toss up between the Sidecar and Mango Martini.

Stuff Jumbo shrimp and crabmeat....

My diner was not good, black own business should do better then this... You're going to serve Italian dish it should be equivalent to or better than anything you could get in an Italian restaurant.

This lady has lost her mind, 20$ for 5 small shrimp

Bad vibes and unseasoned food. Very low vibrational setting. And they add gratuity for subpar service .

She and the staff were accommodating, attentive and welcoming. The food was well balanced and flavorful. Everyone - adults and children- enjoyed their meals! The ambiance fit the name perfectly -- subtle hints of blue throughout that tied right back to "d'Azur." We started with a glass of bubbly and focaccia served with three spreads -- the olive tapenade stood out over the butter. For the first course, I had the duck confit salad -- the duck portion itself ran a little light, but the flavor balance was excellent: sweetness from the strawberries, bitterness from the arugula, saltiness from the goat cheese, and umami depth from the duck confit. It's BYOB, we brought both red and white wine to pair across the meal. The table shared the Branzino with French chard, which was outstanding, and the steak frites, which was exceptional and perfect medium rare. I had the duck breast with mushroom, paired with a Pinot Noir -- a great match, and that same Pinot Noir worked beautifully with the steak too. To finish, we shared three desserts: crème brûlée, chocolate truffles with strawberry and pistachio, and a cognac cake topped with a chocolate whipped mousse, walnuts, and strawberry. Tough call on a favorite, but the cognac cake stole the show. Throughout dessert, the staff kept checking in without ever feeling intrusive -- a small thing, but it stood out. A great night out with drink, food, and cousins from start to finish. The service alone is worth going back for. Highly recommend.

Just walk toward the back and that's where the restaurant seating is. To start, we ordered the hot antipasto for two. I was really excited to try it, but honestly at least half of the dish needed salt. Our favorite parts were definitely the clams oreganata and the stuffed mushroom. For entrées, we ordered the Chicken Scarpariello and the linguine with clams. Again, the chicken lacked salt, but once we added some, it was good. Now the real star of the night was the linguine with clams wow. The flavor and sauce were amazing. We dipped the fresh bread they gave us into the sauce and it took the whole dish to another level. For dessert, we had the cheesecake and it was delicious. Our waiter, Santiago, was a delight. He gave amazing service, and even the person he was training was great as well. The ambience is very dim and romantic, which I loved. It's a nice place for a dinner date or even a relaxing dinner with family. Overall, I had a good experience and would definitely come back for the linguine with clams alone.

We had the fried calamari, almost best I ever had, fresh and crispy and tasty. I could have had that alone. Also had the stuffed mushrooms, very tasty. The table bread was fresh and we should not have eaten so much. A friend had the Veal francaise and it was tender and well seasoned. First time here and I will be back, big menu.

You can sit at tables or the large bar, we chose the former. The service was very good, accommodating and friendly. The food was nicely executed. My lamb shank was tender and tasty. I sampled the steak and thought it was nicely cooked, loaded with flavor and also very tender. The brie was tasty, and didn't seem to heavy, which was surprising as it was deep fried. If I lived in the area, I'd be a regular here.

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.
