Everything else was good-- the shrimp etoufee was flavorful (a tad salty for me), and the rest of our party loved their meals-- fried catfish and shrimp prepared a number of ways. Unfortunately it's a very chilly restaurant and I don't like cold places. It's also very noisy due to the internal acoustic. Thoroughly enjoyed dining at Pappadeaux (first time) that we came back again a few days later! My family really appreciated that the server instructed the kitchen to split a meal for 2 people without us having to ask. That stood out to us as top notch customer service. And even with splitting a seafood entree, the portion size was just right. It was the perfect amount for 2 people. The restaurant is enormous - we didn't have reservations for a Friday night so intentionally came late afternoon and even then, the place easily had 25+ tables already occupied. Within the hour, by 5pm, the place was easily at 75% capacity. I typically don't like crawfish but having tried Étouffée and fried crawfish here, I am now a fan! I went for an early lunch with my family and I have to start by saying I was unsure of what to expect. I have been to this location before and the experience was not good (inhospitable manager and service), however I went in today with a clean slate hoping to enjoy a great meal. Upon entering the restaurant appeared to be clean, but as we went further in you could see there was a little bit of wrappers and crayons on the floor, that should NOT have been there, especially since we arrived right at opening (actually earlier as we arrived 3min to opening). Not to mention the lobster tank looked dirty (poor thing). We were seated quickly and went to the restroom to wash our hands. My mother and I noticed the sinks and countertops of the restroom were not clean, as if it maybe had not been cleaned last night (unsure). My dad also informed me the men's restroom was out of the paper towels, also odd seeing as they had just opened. We did not let that bother us, and of course went on to order and enjoy or time. Our server was very kind which was refreshing ! My mom and I ordered the American Red Snapper with Shrimp and it was a very large portion and delicious. My dad ordered the Cobb Salad w/chicken tenders and said it was very good. I also tried the new cocktail called the "Guava Groove" and it was pretty good , just a bit on the sweet side, which is to be expected. Overall, today's experience was much better than my previous. The reason for the 3 (really 3.5) stars is due to the lack of cleanliness. We always go to Pappadeaux on New Year's Eve and other special occasions. We went last NYE and had a great experience as we have had in the past . Now we tried to make a reservation for 12 people to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday but were told we could no longer have more than 10 people at a table due to corporate rules. We will no longer be going to this restaurant to celebrate our special times or any other times . We were not asking for a table for 20, just 12. We spend a lot of money when we go out so I guess it's their loss. read more

Why 3 stars? Because maybe the ribeye wasn't the ideal order. --- --- --- I woke up early and was incredibly active on this day. By the time we arrived for lunch, I had already surpassed 15,000 steps. And I'd consumed 0 calories. I was ready to deeply effect the Pappadeaux Kitchen inventory. While normally, I would have ordered a po boy in this situation, I couldn't help but go with the ribeye. My body was craving mass amounts of protein, and against my better judgment, I gave into temptation. Unfortunately, it was like ordering the seafood at a Denny's. Don't stray from the specialty is the lesson learned here. To be honest, I could buy a steak at any grocery store and definitely enjoy it more, while spending a little more than half of what I paid here. There were several rough parts of inedible fat and overall, the steak just left a lot to be desired. We ordered a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer and it was enjoyable, but I didn't love having to shovel each shrimp out of the crushed ice that was practically magnetic each time. The taste, however, was great. And lastly, the bread was primo. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the whipped butter is the standard for what every restaurant should serve with their bread. Next time I will order something cajun, but I learned an expensive lesson on this trip: avoid the ribeye. read more

Great experience at Pappadeaux Woodlands. We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon lunch with friends. We were greeted and seated promptly. The hostess was very personable. Enrique our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. Our food was great. The presentation was over the top, and it was served at proper temperatures. As with most Pappadeaux it is a noisy restaurant but palletable. We really enjoyed ourselves, and recommend this restaurant highly. It is a chain that does not feel like a chain. THE GOOD! The food as usual is always outstanding. It's our Geaux-To place when I don't feel like cooking at home. Today we went for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We arrived at 1pm and they were super busy. To be expected, service was a bit slow. My husband's food arrived, mine did not. I nibbled off his plate until the waiter noticed I hadn't received my order. A few minutes later a "manager" brought my food to the table. Sorry your food was not served he said. I told him that I had been eating off my husband's plate while waiting. He said, sorry it's here now, is there anything else you need? THE BAD!! That was the most condescending apology( NOT APOLOGY), that I've ever received. After haven't eaten the entire serving of bread and a good portion of my husband's food, I had no appetite nor could I enjoy my lunch. I packed my entire plate in a to-Geaux container. I went to the restaurant after a doctors appointment. Hadn't eaten all day so I was very hungry. Had the fried shrimp and fried catfish dinner with the seniors discount. This made me very happy. Appetizers and food took forever to come out. I ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was so dry. I ordered it medium well but I think it was the first thing done so they left it under a heat lamp. It was really disappointing. Also, they ran out of steak knives. I had to use a butter knife which would've been fine if my steak was actually tender. I had to saw off the pieces with my butter knife. For the amount of money I had to pay for this steak, the service and the quality should've also reflected that. Again, I get stuff like this happens but doesn't leave a good impression. The mashed potatoes were the only thing I enjoyed from this meal. They were divine. If I ever come here again, it would be to just eat a plate of the mashed potatoes. read more

I got the mock margarita (cause im 12) and as soon as I drank it, it gave me a weird feeling in my stomach and made me feel nauseous cuz it was WAY too sour. We diluted it with water and it was STILL bad. We got our food and I was splitting the Sampler Platter with my mom. The food was good but I think I might be drunk from the mock margarita cause I thought I was dipping my food into ketchup, but when I finished my food, I realized it was cocktail sauce. 3 stars because the food was good, but they probably gave a minor (me) an alcoholic beverage. The Pappas restaurants are all well run. Service is almost always great and the food is fantastic.

We were seated immediately, but the 2 person booths in the bar area are seriously TOO SMALL. Like literally 2 drinks, the bread, 2 small plates & the napkins (w/ utensils) and menus took up the ENTIRE table. I went to wash my hands before sitting. The Hubby already had water when I returned to the table. If the server was notified there were TWO ppl dining, and there were TWO menus on the table, why would you bring ONE water? The Hubby & I had to share a water for almost 12 minutes! Our server was OBVIOUSLY the bartender (unknown to us) bc EVERYONE at the bar (even the ones who sat down AFTER we arrived) received their bar drinks before I received my water...made by our server. We finally ordered drinks, and our server asked "You guys wanna order food or just the drinks"? I replied "We'd like some appetizers first" which was met with "oh you want appetizers"....uuhhhmmm yeah. The salad & boudin came out in a fair amount of time; both were good, but for me the blackened boudin was salty. We finished our appetizers and waited, and waited, and waited. FINALLY, our server came back from behind the bar and we ordered an entree; fried fish & fries. It was good. Waited, waited, and waited some more, and finally we were brought the check, but it was placed on our table pretty much with the server's back turned to us bc she was focused on the patrons at the bar! And get this...it took her less than 5 minutes to charge our CC and bring us the receipt! FYP Pappadeaux's, your bartenders should be just that. If they must be servers, they should only focus on the patrons seated directly AT THE BAR! The booths/tables in the bar area need their own servers, who's NOT the bartender. read more
